Chapter 728: Chapter 721: Meeting after Three Days
Tangmo was huffily staring at Cheng Ziang, looking quite unhappy. Cheng Ziang knew very well that the person in front of him was not the familiar Moumou, but the one who once almost led the Advance Team to destruction.
Although she seems pretty honest now, there’s no guarantee she won’t repeat her mistakes. So Cheng Ziang felt the need to curb her fierceness, to establish authority in front of her, to prevent her from acting recklessly in the future.
As for Luoer, there was no hope. His attitude towards Momo is the same as his attitude towards her sister, attempting to win over both sisters. Relying on him to discipline Momo would be less effective than letting Momo repent herself.
However, in the end, Cheng Ziang couldn’t persuade Tangmo. After Baiyue took Feng away, she saw the opportunity to escape, leaving Cheng Ziang all alone.
"This damn girl, does she have no respect left!" Cheng Ziang could not help but curse.
"Alright, you say less." Hu Daoke calmly said.
"That girl almost led the Advance Team to its destruction before, do you intend to speak for her?" Cheng Ziang looked at him and said.
"What happened then was then. Since Sister Moumou is willing to let her out, it shows that she has been approved by Sister Moumou. Similarly, her identity being revealed has obviously been approved by the boss. Why are you still denying her?" shrugged Hu Daoke.
"But she should respect the rules, right? After all, I’m the deputy captain. Doesn’t my word hold any weight?" Cheng Ziang said.
"You know you’re the deputy captain, yet you were desperately adamant about not accepting the role," Hu Daoke disdainfully glanced at him, then shook his head and said," The motto is to deal with specific problems specifically. Momo obviously does not comply now, you need to change your tactics to control her, why are you still thinking about using the old methods?"
After his speech, and looking at Cheng Ziang, the latter did not reply but stared at him in puzzlement, not speaking for quite a while.
"What are you staring at me for." Hu Daoke felt uncomfortable under his stare.
"I just can’t believe it when this comes out of your mouth," Cheng Ziang laughed and then said in a teasing tone, "When did you become so philosophical?"
"People always grow up, read more, think more, and the world will be different." Hu Daoke explained.
"Impressive, I never thought you would be this kind of person." Cheng Ziang clapped his hands, shaking his head and saying.
"People change with time, you should acknowledge their development. Is it that hard to admit it?" Hu Daoke gave him a weary glance.
"I just wonder, when did you change?" Cheng Ziang said.
The Hu Daoke in his memory had always been fun-loving and quite the ruffian. Suddenly hearing those philosophical words from him, Cheng Ziang hardly dared to trust his ears.
"Actually, on this trip home, when I saw Olavia, I suddenly felt that I can’t continue like this, I need to grow up." Hu Daoke looked down and smiled sheepishly, "You know, we’re not getting any younger, and I don’t want to be an unreliable husband if I get married in the future."
On hearing his words, for some reason Cheng Ziang felt a wave of relief and emotion from the bottom of his heart, and couldn’t help but smile warmly.
"What are you laughing at, do you look down on me?" Hu Daoke frowned at him and said.
"No, not at all," Cheng Ziang said, walked up to him, hugged him, and then said with relief, "I just feel, our Old Hu has grown up, I am just very happy."
"You little..." On hearing his words, Hu Daoke also showed a heartwarming smile, slapped him on the back, and said, "You have to push ahead too, but don’t learn from our boss."
"It seems like you’ve grown up now, so are you planning to leave the Advance Team?" Cheng Ziang let go of him and asked.
"What are you talking about, what’s the correlation between growing up and leaving the Advance Team," Hu Daoke gave him a look, then half-jokingly asked, "What, will you miss me?"
"Yeah, if you leave, I’ll be lonely." Cheng Ziang nodded seriously.
"You little..." Hearing his words, Hu Daoke suddenly coughed violently, then whacked Cheng Ziang’s shoulder hard, saying resentfully, "Couldn’t you just lie to me once!"
As he spoke, there was a clear whimper in his voice. Cheng Ziang glanced at him and saw that his eyes were red-rimmed, and he looked like he was about to cry any moment.
"Such a crybaby," Cheng Ziang laughed and shook his head, then patted his shoulder, "Come on, let’s grab a drink to celebrate your adulthood!"
"Let’s go, let’s go!" As soon as he heard about drinking, Hu Daoke instantly perked up, aggressively wiping off the tears threatening to spill from his eyes, and put his arm around Cheng Ziang’s shoulder exclaiming.
At this time, Luoer was still in the recuperation state, lying on the bed out of sheer boredom, chit-chatting with Fulajie’er in a lackadaisical manner.
To be frank, purely from an emotional standpoint, Nightingale did not like Luoer much because he had robbed her of the time she used to spend with her sister. Usually, once they returned to their base, Fulajie’er would voluntarily spend time with her, yet this time upon return, the amount of shared time they had was too little to count.
"Why did you think of throwing away the pendant when you were about to be dragged into the world of oblivion?" Fulajie’er sat cross-legged in front of Luoer’s chest, looking at him and asked earnestly.
"Your soul is housed in that pendant. I was worried that once it reached the other side, you’d lose contact with the pendant, and you would then cease to exist." Luoer replied truthfully.
"But you were also in great danger at that time." Fulajie’er pointed out.
"Yes, I was in danger, but it doesn’t mean that I could drag someone else down with me," Luoer shrugged and laughed as he continued, "Moreover, if something were to happen to you, even if I wasn’t in danger, I would have no idea how to explain it to your sister."
"So you saved me because you were afraid that my sister would punish you?" Upon hearing Luoer’s answer, Fulajie’er’s face fell immediately and she coldly asked him.
"No," Luoer, seemingly oblivious to her reaction, continued by himself, "Even without your sister, I would have first thought of protecting you."
"Why?" asked Fulajie’er.
"Because you are one of us. It’s my duty as the captain to ensure the safety of every Advance Team member." Luoer replied with a smile.
"Luoer!" Fulajie’er didn’t listen to him finish, instead, she interrupted him.
"What’s wrong?" Luoer was taken aback and looked at her asking.
"Can’t you say something nice?" Fulajie’er narrowed her eyes, looking visibly unhappy.
"Something nice?" Luoer was a bit stunned.
"Like how you couldn’t bear to part with me, which is why you first thought of throwing away the pendant." Fulajie’er said it timidly.
"Isn’t that obvious? Do I have to explicitly say it?" Luoer blinked and asked.
"Ah!" After hearing his words, Fulajie’er was startled for a moment before bursting into a happy smile. She lowered her head and giggled blissfully.
"You young girls." Seeing her shy reaction, Luoer finally let out a sigh of relief and then murmured under his breath.
"Luoer, I’m coming in!" At that moment, a hearty voice came from outside the door. The door was then pushed open and in bounced Tangmo. Seeing Luoer, he immediately broke into a smile and rushed to kneel by the bed, clutching onto Luoer.
"You..." Luoer was taken by surprise. He started coughing intensively but once he saw the hairpin on her forehead, he had an idea of what was going on.
"Weren’t you supposed to be conducting experiments?" Luoer asked with a strained smile.
"Well, Sister said she needed to rest, so she asked me to take over!" Tangmo replied nonchalantly.
"Didn’t I ask you to look after Feng? Why do you keep coming to me?" Luoer made a strenuous effort to push her away and asked.
"Even you are being mean to me!" Tangmo looked at him angrily, voicing her grievances.
"I’m not being mean to you, I just asked you to do your job." Luoer said helplessly.
"Just now, Cheng Ziang used this excuse to scold me, now you’re using the same excuse to chase me away, you are definitely being mean to me!" Tangmo whined.
"What kind of robber’s logic is that..." Luoer shut his eyes in
