Chapter 718: Chapter 711: Moumou and Momo
"That’s more like it!" Tangmo said with satisfaction, climbing off Luoer in response to his answer. She seemed indifferent to the situation, acting very calmly.
"I can’t quite understand why you’re interested in me, too?" Luoer asked, unable to help himself after heaving a sigh of relief.
"Big Brother," Tangmo looked at him, and said, "I’m just one of Tangmo’s personalities, don’t I have the right to choose who I like? Or should my preferences be dictated by whom she likes?"
"That’s not really fair, I don’t like imposing on others. If you really aren’t interested in me, you don’t have to force yourself. I can help you think of a solution." Luoer said sincerely.
"What kind of solution, are you planning on being a cuckold?" Tangmo asked head askew with a playful smile.
"No, no that’s not it, I was talking about finding a way to separate the two of you." Luoer explained, gesticulating with his right hand.
"Actually, there’s no need for that." Tangmo looked at Luoer’s earnest face, a wave of joy welling up in her from deep within. She couldn’t help but reach out and gently cup his delicate face, smilingly saying, "You may not realize this but they say the greatest expression of love is companionship. Haven’t I silently been by your side for so long? Don’t you know how I feel?"
Luoer blinked, his eyes meeting hers, soft as water. A rush of emotion flooded his heart and his face uncontrollably turned red.
Truth be told, Momo was far better at flirting than her sister. If she had been the one pursuing Luoer from the start, then Baiyue probably wouldn’t have stood a chance.
"You, what do you like about me..." Luoer asked, his embarrassment concealed by a cough as he turned his face away, unable to meet her gaze.
"Stop stammering, does liking someone need a reason?" Tangmo stated matter-of-factly.
"That..." Confronted with her response, Luoer was left speechless.
"Luoer..." Tangmo leaned in, their noses nearly touching. Her eyes were full of affection and as she spoke, Luoer could feel the warm breath being exhaled.
"I want a kiss!" Tangmo changed her tone and spoke in a coquettish voice.
Luoer noticed her breathing growing more rapid, and as she leaned in, her cheeks began to redden.
"Don’t take advantage of my situation..." Luoer said with a lack of conviction.
"I want to take advantage of it, you always act so serious, it’s just your way of running away. Only my foolish sister would believe that you’re genuinely serious." Tangmo narrowed her eyes as she spoke.
"This, this, you see, we are in an isolation ward, be careful of prying eyes!" Luoer conjured an excuse on the spur of the moment.
At Luoer’s words, Tangmo immediately straightened up and looked at the observation window on the door. Seeing no one was peeking, she sighed in relief.
"Phew..." Seeing Tangmo back off, Luoer finally let out a sigh of relief.
"It wouldn’t really matter if someone saw us, after all, everyone knows about our relationship, right?" Tangmo turned back, speaking with a smile.
"I’m shy!" Luoer said, standing his ground.
"Alright then, next time we’re alone, you should take initiative. Got it?" Tangmo glared at him as she spoke.
"Huh, take the initiative?" Luoer was taken aback.
"Did you hear me? Or I’ll start undressing you!" Tangmo threatened, reaching to undo the buttons on Luoer’s shirt.
"Okay, okay, I got it. Don’t do it." Luoer replied hastily.
"That’s more like it." Hearing Luoer’s promise, Tangmo let go of his clothes contentedly.
Seeing Tangmo behaving, Luoer finally took a deep breath. This girl was an absolute handful, and he couldn’t fathom who approved the idea of letting her stay in the same hospital room as him. Though currently lacking her sickly sweet demeanor, Luoer felt like her persistent attitude would eventually be the death of him.
"Can I speak to your sister?" Luoer asked after hesitating for a moment.
"What, you don’t want to stay with me?" Tangmo asked, squinting.
"No, it’s not that. It’s just that your sister must be worried about me since the accident. I just want to chat with her, let her know I’m okay." Luoer explained.
"You could just chat with me; she can see and hear us," Tangmo said.
"But I can’t hear what she wants to say," Luoer said.
"Alright," Tangmo graciously nodded and then turned her head to say, "That satisfies you, I’m tired anyway."
With that, she suddenly bowed her head, her eyes tightly closed. After a few seconds, she lifted her head and excitedly turned to look at Luoer. This time, Luoer notably felt a change in her aura.
"Luo’er, hmm..." Tangmo sobbed before abruptly lunging at Luoer, almost bursting into tears.
"Moumou, Moumou, ouch ouch ouch..." As Tangmo threw herself on him, Luoer instantly felt a sharp pain in his ribs; he could hardly catch his breath.
"I’m sorry, I got too excited!" Noting Luoer’s pained expression, Tangmo hastily climbed off him, chastising herself.
"You’re still so reckless..." Luoer coughed in pain, then slowly relaxed his furrowed brow.
"I’m sorry, that was my fault, I should let Momo take over," Tangmo said, hanging her head in guilt.
"Well, never mind, I expected it from you," Luoer waved his hand and said, "It is so you, after all."
Upon hearing Luoer’s words, Tangmo felt a rush of relief. Luoer hadn’t changed at all; he was still the same person who forgave her every misstep.
"Well, actually, I heard everything you were talking with Momo about." Tangmo hesitated for a long time, nervously playing with her fingers as she spoke, head bowed.
"Will you hold it against me?" Luoer looked at her, a bit out of breath, and asked.
"Why would I blame you," Tangmo glanced at him, purse her lips, and then said, "But you can only have three, no more than that, got it?"
"Three?" Luoer blinked, pretending not to understand.
"Don’t play dumb, you know exactly what I mean!" Tangmo pouted.
Luoer didn’t respond but coughed awkwardly with a grimace of pain, then quickly averted his eyes. Eventually, he couldn’t help but ask, "Why have you started behaving like this too?"
"I learnt it from Momo. She told me it’s the only way to hold my own." Tangmo explained.
"Children shouldn’t learn these strange things; these are things only adults can comprehend," Luoer advised.
"I’m not a kid anymore, honestly." Tangmo grumbled, then began to count the years on her fingers, murmuring to herself in a slightly self-conscious tone, "Eh, it seems I’m not of age yet..."
As a dwarf hybrid, Tangmo was considered a half-elf. The half-elves measure age differently than the Human Race, approximately doubling the age.
This means that if the human race matured at sixteen, then the maturity age for half-elves would be about thirty-two years old. By that calculation, Luoer had just reached adulthood, while Tangmo had a long way to go.
However, the headquarters calculated the age of half-elves using Earth’s standards, considering them adults at eighteen. Otherwise, they would have never allowed Luoer and others to join the Advance Team.
"I prefer each of you to maintain your uniqueness, rather than becoming alike," Luoer earnestly said.
"So you’re actually quite enjoying being flanked by two of us!" Tangmo glanced at him, saying playfully.
"Uh..." Luoer was rendered speechless and suddenly coughed violently. With a grimace, he groaned, "Ah, my wound is hurting again, I want to rest..."
"You heartbreaker!" Tangmo leaned over, biting her teeth as she pinched Luoer’s cheeks. It was something she had wanted to do for a long time but dared not to.
She squeezed Luoer’s cheeks fiercely, then suddenly burst into laughter. Still grinning, she stood up but did not release Luoer’s cheeks.
"The two of you keep changing, and while I can recognize you, others might not. So it’s better if you make some distinction, so everyone knows who is who at a glance," Luoer suggested.
"Hmm, okay, I got it!" Tangmo earnestly nodded in agreement.
