Chapter 1105: Chapter 1098: Named Xia Yue
The girl’s tentacles within his body were like the siphoning protrusions of numerous kissing worms, constantly splitting and then extending, almost occupying his entire chest cavity.
This invasive discomfort made Luo’er feel exceptionally heavy as he breathed. He tilted his head back, mouth open, struggling to breathe, his expression one of pain. The others could only watch helplessly, anxiously wringing their hands, unable to do anything as they watched Luo’er slowly wither away.
Not to mention mortals who could not move, even the demigod Fulajie’er was similarly immobilized. Not to mention that she was only a demigod, whereas the girl before them was the True God Xiapei Kam. Judging by the level of magic alone, she was no match for the girl, so it was normal for her to be entirely restricted.
It had been said before that gods cannot kill other gods, but that does not mean they can do nothing else. Between gods, especially between gods and demigods, there exists a gap, which is usually reflected in the disparity of their magical prowess.
Thus, while restraining the mortals, the girl did not spare Fulajie’er either and bound her just the same. Such a magic-based sphere, even for a spiritual entity like Fulajie’er, was difficult to escape from.
Incidentally, there is an even bigger sphere around Xia Yue Island, which was set up by Tana specifically to trap Xiapei Kam.
About three minutes later, the girl suddenly withdrew her hands, and without support, Luo’s body collapsed weakly onto the ground. He immediately covered his neck, only to find no gruesome wound or trace of blood that he had anticipated. His neck’s skin was as smooth as ever, showing no signs of any invasion.
Luo’er’s eyes widened in confusion as he gripped his neck and stared at the girl. Clearly, she had just invaded his body, he had felt it intensely, so why were there not even any wounds on his neck?
"Your body should feel better now, shouldn’t it, Half-elf Luo’er?" the girl asked with a smile, speaking her first words.
Her voice was like the sound of heaven, vibrant and full of life, but perhaps to match her youthful appearance, her voice sounded slightly childlike.
"What did you do to me?" Luo’er, holding his neck, asked uneasily.
"I just solved some problems in your body, don’t worry too much," the girl replied lightly.
"What about them?" Luo’er turned his head, looking at the others who seemed frozen in time.
"Heh," the girl chuckled softly and then waved her hand slightly.
Time seemed to restart, and everyone started bustling around again. The members of the Advance Team rushed to Luo’er’s side, frantically checking his condition.
"Rest assured, he will be fine. I just made some minor adjustments," the girl said with a smile.
Her words left the members of the Advance Team in shock because she spoke not in Elvish or Tastan, but in perfect Chinese.
"What did you do to him?" Tangmo glared at the girl, also speaking in Chinese.
"Don’t mistake kindness for donkey liver and lungs. I have cured the injuries inside his body," the girl’s smile remained undiminished.
"Injuries?" Tangmo paused for a moment, frowning as he turned to look back at Luo’er.
"It really feels much better," Luo’er nodded slightly, feeling that even his breathing had become incredibly smooth.
Previously, he had suffered from Magic Power Erosion, and although he had received treatment in Ilanadale, it was never a permanent cure. Unexpectedly, on Xia Yue Island, his condition was healed through this fortuitous coincidence.
He took a deep breath, then stood up with the support of the others around him, looking down at her as he asked, "Why did you help me?"
"Shouldn’t you kneel when speaking to your benefactor?" the girl asked with a smile.
Luo’er nodded, and then compliantly knelt down, looking directly at the girl. Seeing his obedient action, the girl’s smile deepened, her eyes narrowing as she watched him.
"There are two reasons I helped you," the girl said as she gently caressed Luo’ers cheek, "First, you helped me, so I helped you. That’s only natural."
"Are you Xiapei Kam?" Luo’er asked, widening his eyes.
"Ah, that name is too much of a mouthful, just call me Xia Yue," the girl said.
"And the second reason?" Luo’er continued.
"Secondly," Xia Yue stared into Luo’er’s eyes as if peering directly into his soul, "you are the chosen one of the prophecy. If you died, time would become chaotic; I am merely complying with the prophecy."
"You know what I mean," Xia Yue tapped Luo’er’s forehead with her index finger.
Luo’er pondered for a moment, then, frowning, he asked, "You’ve stolen my memories!"
"Don’t put it so harshly, I merely took the opportunity to learn about recent major events through you," Xia Yue explained.
"So you learned Chinese?" Luo’er pressed on.
"Hehe," Xia Yue laughed when she heard Luo’er’s question, then shook her head and said, "Pity your English is too poor; I couldn’t learn it from you. If I were to fully learn the language of the people of Earth, she would be the best choice..."
As she spoke, Xia Yue’s gaze focused on Baiyue. Seeing this, Baiyue nervously hid behind Tangmo.
"Relax, I am a god; I don’t have the right to interfere arbitrarily in worldly affairs," Xia Yue assured with a wave of her hand.
"So, you are free from Tana’s constraints now?" Luo’er asked.
"Of course not," Xia Yue sighed and then looked up at the sky, "This island is still imprisoned by a cage. Even I cannot break this cage from the inside."
"So you need me?" asked Luo’er calmly.
"Yes, I need you because you’ve established a link with Tana. I need to use your path to find her and then kill her!" Xia Yue said, her eyes suddenly showing a hint of ferocity.
"Could it be that only by killing her can you become the new god?" Luo’er asked.
"Since you already know about the Ancestors, you must also be aware of some of the grievances between her and me. The Elf Race was originally created by the Ancestors to be a sacrificial race, yet due to her foolish kindness, she nearly led these elves to a dead end," Xia Yue said with a look of frustration.
"Are you saying that it’s Tana’s kindness that has led to the current situation?" Luo’er asked, visibly moved.
"You aren’t feeling sorry for her, are you?" Xia Yue glanced at him and said mockingly, "According to the will of the Ancestors, the Elf Race should have been completely assimilated by the Human Race before they ever encountered the people of Earth, thus eliminating purebred elves from the world. Look at what she has done; the world is still dominated by the Human Race. The Half-elves, who should be the rightful rulers of this world, have become marginalized. The Human Race loathes the Elf Race, and the Elf Race despises the Human Race. As this continues, the Human Race grows stronger while the Elf Race declines. Such is so-called kindness; it’s typically, well-meaning but leading to bad outcomes, hehe."
"But why should the elves have to sacrifice themselves when they too are a race with their own will?" Luo’er asked, puzzled.
"When I say ’sacrifice,’ it always sounds as though the Elf Race has no rights. If I said that the Elf Race should assimilate all other races in the world, would you feel there’s a hint of hegemony?" Xia Yue asked with a smile.
"This..." Luo’er was at a loss for words.
"Don’t think that all Ancestors were foolish and that modern people are infinitely wise. After all, the Ancestors once created a civilization of utmost brilliance, and although they eventually fell due to their desires, I don’t think modern people have any right to mock them," Xia Yue said.
Luo’er was speechless once again.
"Once I was merely a spirit, unable to break through this celestial barrier. Now that I have taken physical form, it’s time for Tana to feel my wrath. When she imprisoned me here, she should have anticipated that one day, I would seek revenge. No matter if she is the goddess of the Elf Race, the femme goddess of the Church of Light, or the southern Besson, I will not hesitate to replace her and restore the world to its rightful course," Xia Yue said, looking up at the sky and narrowing her eyes.
