Chapter 1035: Chapter 1028: Showing Weakness to the Enemy

"Liseya, demigod, that’s right..." Feng suddenly seemed to realize something, but then quickly shook his head.

"Luo’er, let me take him down!" At that moment, a somewhat desolate voice from Fulajie’er echoed in his mind.

"No, absolutely not!" Luo’er shook his head firmly.

"Luo’er, stop insisting; don’t do this..." Fulajie’er pleaded.

"No means no!" Luo’er’s voice suddenly grew strident.

His voice seemed to catch the man’s attention. After a lingering look at Feng, the man picked up his long sword, turned around, and faced the high wall and the people on it, squinting his eyes with a cruel smile.

"Hey, foreigners, are you planning to help these remnants?" The man asked with a sneer, pointing his long sword at Luo’er.

"What remnants or not, if you intend to harm the villagers of the Sub-beast Race, then you are our enemy!" Luo’er said bluntly.

"Hahaha, that couldn’t be better!!!" Upon hearing Luo’er’s words, the man burst into a cocky laugh, his originally handsome face twisting.

Suddenly, he bared his teeth and the long sword in his hand exploded with energy, sending a sweeping wave of sword energy towards the people on the wall in an instant. No one except Feng dared to withstand it.

Everyone instinctively ducked down as the sword energy sheared off stakes from the wall with the ease of cutting tofu, very smoothly, without any resistance.

Seeing that his attack had not succeeded, the man continued with a vertical slash, issuing another wave of sword energy that hit the wall hard with a thunderous noise.

This time, the man’s strike did not pierce through the wall due to its inner earthen and stone structure, hard to break in one go, but even so, the massive force cracked the inner wooden stakes of the wall, making the entire structure teeter dangerously.

"Little Ke and I will stay on the wall to suppress the enemy with firepower, everyone else get off the wall!" Standing on the precarious wall, Luo’er ordered loudly, anxiously.

"Luo’er, you come down too; we can’t beat him!" Tangmo said worriedly to Luo’er.

"Just be careful!" Luo’er waved his hand forcefully and then turned back to stare at the daunting man.

By then, a thousand ways to kill the man flooded his mind, such as using cannons to bombard the area, employing carpet bombing with bombers, or picking him off with a sniper rifle from a kilometer away, etc. But the current conditions didn’t permit such measures, hence the man became a nightmare they found hard to deal with.

"Luo’er, I can use Liseya’s move, to cripple and drive him away, that way it wouldn’t count as killing, right?" At that moment, Fulajie’er’s voice rang out again.

"No, when I say no, it’s no!" Suddenly, Luo’er became agitated, roaring furiously and seeming to lose control.

"Luo’er..." Stunned by his outburst, Fulajie’er didn’t dare to speak again, and could only let out a soft whimper.

"In this world, there is no such thing as perfect conditions. Conditions are made by oneself..." Luo’er murmured to himself, ignoring Fulajie’er and bowing his head in thought.

Facing such a formidable enemy, if one cannot overwhelm, then one must outsmart. Although the enemy was strong, the Advance Team was not inexperienced; with the right response, there were ways to deal with him.

"Luo’er, watch out!" As Luo’er lay there lost in thought, Fulajie’er’s cry of alarm suddenly filled his mind.

Accompanying her warning, another wave of sword energy came hurtling towards them, smashing the wall, rocks, and earth into fragments. This sword energy was aimed at Luo’er, but fortunately, Fulajie’er quickly created a shield to intercept the attack and saved Luo’er from being pulverized.

Nonetheless, Luo’er could no longer stay on the wall. The crumbling wall collapsed with a crash, and he rolled off, tumbling several times on the ground.

"Luo’er, Luo’er, are you okay?" Seeing Luo’er’s fall, Tangmo couldn’t help but run up to him with concern.

"I’m fine, is Little Ke okay?" Luo’er waved his hand, struggling to get up from the ground.

"Boss, I’m okay!" Hu Daoke pushed off the wooden blocks on top of him and quickly scrambled to his feet.

"Very good, very good!" Luo’er nodded in relief, then turned his head back. By then, a huge gash had been cleaved into the surrounding wall by the energy of a sword, robbing the wall of its intended effect.

Luo’er stared blankly at the gap in the wall where, through the dust, he could barely make out a figure—a figure that struck unparalleled fear into everyone.

"Outsmart him, outsmart him!!" Luo’er took a deep breath, fixating on the breach in the wall, muttering to himself.

"Moumou, lead everyone back, retreat further, and don’t come out. I will deal with him alone!" Luo’er suddenly turned, commanding Tangmo loudly.

"Luo’er, don’t try to be a hero!" said Tangmo, his face full of worry.

"Follow orders, I didn’t ask you to speak!" Luo’er shouted irritably.

"Oh, oh..." Rarely seeing Luo’er so irascible, even Tangmo was startled into silence, daring not to utter a word.

"Fulajie’er, Fulajie’er!" After instructing Tangmo, Luo’er turned his head and continued to call out.

"Luo’er, I’m here!" came Fulajie’er’s voice, echoing in his mind.

"Listen carefully," Luo’er took another deep breath, then spoke calmly while staring at the gap in the wall, "I want you to immediately notify Baiyue, have her get ready to snipe. The moment the time is ripe, open fire. Don’t worry about me, I’ll keep him occupied!"

"But you..." Fulajie’er hesitated.

"Follow the order!" Luo’er lashed out again in frustration.

"I know, I know, I’ll follow the order, I won’t speak..." stammered Fulajie’er.

"Additionally," Luo’er took another deep breath and then said to her, "After you’ve informed Yue’er, stay close to me and protect me without leaving my side, understood?"

"Yes, I understand!" Fulajie’er responded immediately.

Having completed the arrangements, Luo’er felt a slight relief. He turned back to see his teammates leading the villagers to a retreat before turning again to the figure appearing at the breach, his fists clenched with tension.

Before long, the dust surrounding the wall began to dissipate, and the man’s figure became clear. Holding a long sword, he saw Luo’er kneeling ten meters away, his face the very picture of wretchedness, and asked with a cheerful smile, "Why not stay on the wall any longer?"

"I’m sorry, sir, we were wrong. Please forgive our actions, we never should have opposed you. Please, in your magnanimity, forgive our offense..." Luo’er pleaded fearfully, then disregarded the mud on the ground, knelt directly on his knees, and began to kowtow vigorously.

"Hehehe." Seeing Luo’er’s submissive posture, the man gave a satisfied smile. Instead of looking around the deserted surrounds, his attention was wholly fixed on the pitiful elf before him.

Luo’er, prostrate in the mud with hands on the ground, signaled his lack of hostility. The man seemed reassured by him, and did not attack immediately, seeming more interested in thoroughly humiliating him.

He started walking toward Luo’er but, halfway there, couldn’t help but mutter to himself, "Huh? There’s only you here, but I sense the presence of two people. What trick are you trying to play?"

"I, I’m not playing any tricks, sir. I haven’t done anything," Luo’er felt a twinge of panic and then quickly got up from the ground, kneeling and raising his hands to show he had no ill intentions.

"Hmph, maybe it’s just an illusion," the man scoffed, and whether due to overconfidence or not, he dismissed this abnormality.

His behavior strengthened Luo’er’s resolve for his own plan, prompting him to act even more submissively and fearfully.

The man approached Luo’er, looking down at him and frowning slightly, "You, you have black hair. Could it be that you... No, that’s not it..."

"Sir, have you thought of something?" Luo’er knelt in place, trembling like a sieve, not even daring to look up directly at him.

"No, it’s nothing. If you want my forgiveness, get down and clean my boots!" The man arrogantly extended his boot, blocking Luo’er’s face as he spoke.
