Only God -
Chapter 97 - 89: God’s Dream
Chapter 97: Chapter 89: God’s Dream
Chen Yi found himself in the midst of profound darkness.
His consciousness had not yet awakened and was still in decline.
But this did not mean that God could not dream.
In his dreams, Chen Yi’s thoughts were sometimes lucid, sometimes chaotic.
The dream was filled with darkness, an absolute serene and tranquil darkness.
Around him, there was only Chen Yi as a source of light.
Amidst this dark dreamscape, Chen Yi enjoyed the silence of solitude.
In his solitude, waves of memory would often surge forth.
Chen Yi recalled more memories from his time as a human being.
He remembered that his original name was Chen Yi, not Chen Yi, derived from an amusing misunderstanding.
When Chen Yi was alone, he would often bow his head in contemplation, reflecting on those memories of his time as a human.
The past self had been indifferent to his own life,
which now seemed utterly intriguing when he looked back.
Beneath his feet, the darkness was like water, also like a mirror, reflecting his figure.
As time gradually passed, Chen Yi’s memory became clearer, and in that mirror-like darkness, a silhouette began to appear.
The figure inside was identical to God.
Chen Yi would often gaze at the reflected image of himself.
The figure in there did not emit light; he was enveloped in darkness.
That was himself as a human, with this darkness reflecting his former humanity.
"Should I cast you aside?"
The luminous figure asked, facing the self within the darkness.
The person in the darkness did not speak; he stood still as if he was about to die, with only a faint breath remaining.
The God clothed in light stood before him, not uttering a word, waiting for an answer.
Everything in the dream was silent, all was darkness.
Except for God.
In his solitude, God would often look around at the darkness in every direction.
He was the only light.
If He wished, a wave of His hand could dispel the darkness in all directions.
He turned back, looking into the mirror at the person wrapped in darkness.
God asked once more:
"Should I cast you aside?"
To cast you aside,
to shed all humanity...
to become a complete God.
........................
........................
God stood in the darkness.
He knew that the scene before Him was His dream.
"Oh, my dream..."
God murmured.
When one has sufficient power to control their own dreams, the dreamscape often contains whatever one desires.
The darkness at His feet reflected God’s image, only the person inside was covered by darkness.
Because the person inside wouldn’t answer,
God no longer asked that question.
God surveyed the surroundings, seeing darkness in every direction.
All in His eyes were nothingness.
"What shall I create?"
God asked Himself.
At that moment,
the person enveloped in darkness suddenly responded.
God lowered His head,
and saw the person’s lips trembling slightly,
as if wishing to say something.
Chen Yi leaned down, listening to the self within the darkness, to what he was saying.
"All-encompassing, supremely good and beautiful."
Chen Yi heard his own voice.
How strange.
When God took the initiative to question, the person inside remained silent.
Yet when God questioned Himself, the person inside had something to say.
God gazed upon himself within the darkness.
He contemplated the humanity that remained in him.
In the end, God lifted his face and looked at the world in all directions.
Abundant and complete, the pinnacle of goodness and beauty.
Chen Yi recollected his own thoughts.
In dreams, everything could emerge from nothingness.
Creation and destruction were not difficult; they hinged on a single thought.
God stretched out his hands toward the darkness before him, parting them.
In an instant, a brilliance emerged, and the pure Cloud Sea appeared out of nowhere in the dream.
The light immediately filled every corner, and the Cloud Sea slowly surged, supremely magnificent.
What place could possibly have everything, be the epitome of goodness and beauty?
People often refer to such a place as Heaven.
God surveyed everything before him and found it somewhat monotonous.
So, Chen Yi questioned again:
"What exactly exists within this kingdom?"
In the kingdom before his eyes, nothing had substance, so everything could spontaneously exist, could be eternal, and could also suddenly perish.
God heard his own voice again.
"There is radiance, there are angels."
So, God extended his hand and pointed to a place.
A point of light burst forth from God’s finger, falling upon the spot he indicated.
The light transformed into flame, burning and flickering with a magnificent brilliance.
The flame began to change shape, slowly reshaping and recreating itself.
In this dream, there was no concept of time.
In fact, the longer the lifespan of a being, the more tenuous their perception of time.
And God was eternal.
From the divine perspective, time did not exist.
But from the human perspective,
time was the passage of one second after another.
Who knows how much time passed.
A new Spiritual Body,
was born within God’s dream.
The flame still flickered,
and a Spiritual Body with six pairs of wings emerged from the flame.
"You are an Angel, my creation,"
God said, looking at this Spiritual Body.
The Angel with six pairs of wings slowly opened its bright, light-filled eyes, gazed upon God’s face, and then slowly knelt down.
The Angel gently kissed the back of Chen Yi’s hand.
Chen Yi pointed to the north and said,
"You are Solamus, go there and watch over that part of the dream for me."
Solamus, in mortal eyes, was a somewhat feminine name, but Angels had no gender; they were not physical beings, merely Spiritual Bodies.
Then, Chen Yi extended his hand again, casting light toward another direction.
The light too became fire.
After a long time, another Angel walked out from the fire.
This Angel had four arms, four legs, and six pairs of wings on its back. But it did not appear distorted; instead, it was beautiful beyond measure due to the Golden Ratio, its visage unimaginably stunning.
This Angel’s beauty was beyond reproach.
"You are Kara, go there and watch over that part of the dream for me."
After Kara, the Angel, kissed the back of Chen Yi’s hand, it set off toward the direction indicated by God.
After that, God created one Angel for each of the remaining six directions. A total of eight Angels.
Each Angel had its own posture, its own magnificence. If they were to appear on earth, even the kindest and most innocent of people would covet their beauty.
They kissed the back of God’s hand and then obeyed God’s command, each heading in their respective directions.
God created his own kingdom in the dream, conjuring everything from nothingness.
In this place, everything was abundant and complete, the pinnacle of goodness and beauty.
At that moment, Chen Yi lowered his head, dispersing the Cloud Sea at his feet.
His gaze fixed firmly on his reflection in the mirror.
Within the darkness, the person was just like before, as if dead, with only a faint breath.
God, for the sake of what remained of his humanity,
had created the splendid and magnificent Heavenly Country before him.
"Shall I abandon you?"
God asked once again.
