Chapter 369: Chapter 325: Everything is With Him

"Who are you?"

The child within the orb of light opened their eyes and, seeing their creator, Love God Lian Xidi, asked in a bewildered tone.

"Your mother, Lian Xidi."

Lian Xidi looked tenderly at the child in her arms,

"And you, you are Mira, you are my child."

"Child... mother..."

Mira was too young, a child not yet assigned a gender, and seemed to understand as they nodded vaguely.

This child was co-created by the Divine Power of Lian Xidi and Angel Grace and had been born with a smattering of memories from the outside world, thus naturally possessing the ability to speak.

Most of these external memories came from Love God Lian Xidi, with a minor portion coming from Angel Grace, which in turn originated from God on the mystical throne.

The Love God held boundless tender love for her creation.

She held Mira with one hand and waved the other over the lake while chanting the Ancient Language taught to her by Chen Yi, and after a moment, a vast Lake Heart Island rose from the lakebed, instantly blooming into a magnificent sea of flowers with sparkling splashes of water that turned into dream-like mist.

Seeing this, Mira exclaimed with excitement, and Lian Xidi, holding the child, stepped onto Lake Heart Island.

Lian Xidi came above this sea of flowers, squatted down, and gently plucked a white lily from among them, then tenderly placed it in front of Mira.

Mira did not take the flower but instead looked up at Lian Xidi and asked in a babyish voice,

"You say I am your child, you are my mother...

But, but I don’t understand you yet..."

Lian Xidi was surprised upon hearing this, not expecting the child to be so intelligent and pure of heart.

How many children become their parents’ offspring without truly understanding them?

Most of the time, parents cherish their children and do much for them, but there are times when some parents cannot truly be called parents, and the children become theirs in a haze of confusion.

There is no test in this world for parenthood.

"Mira, I have years upon years to prove,"

Lian Xidi gently set Mira down, letting the child lie atop the sea of flowers,

"Prove that you are my child, and I am your mother."

Upon hearing this, Mira hesitated for a moment before revealing a smile.

The child accepted Lian Xidi’s promise.

That smile was exceedingly beautiful, coupled with the child’s dark hair, it was incredibly charming.

A breeze blew by, swaying the sea of flowers, which, like cradles, gently lulled Mira into the land of dreams.

Mira was sleepy, her small eyes, unable to process the fatigue, furrowed their brows, rubbed their eyes, and raised a small hand to yawn.

Suddenly, Mira noticed something.

The naive gaze extended towards that place, towards the distant vault of heaven, that faintly visible divine light, Mira’s eyes gradually widened, almost mesmerized by the brilliance, her mouth opening and closing involuntarily.

The child saw the radiance on that high mountain, the afterlife that housed countless souls.

It was an ancient tree that stood through tens of thousands of years, its intricate and profound patterns ensnaring the gaze, with hundreds upon hundreds of souls walking through these patterns, and after the judgment by the great Law, some would fall to Hell, and others ascend to Heaven, the complexity of the afterlife astonished Mira.

Following the canopy of the ancient tree, the child beheld the Thousand Pillar Cloud Sea.

And at the deepest part of the Cloud Sea, there stood a white throne.

Mira saw a figure bathed in light.

"That, who is that?"

Mira asked with a tremble in her voice.

Though it was warm, she shivered still, unaware of why she did.

"God."

Lian Xidi answered softly,

"In His presence, there is everything."

Mira nodded in a daze.

Is there really everything in that bright place?

This self-question echoed in the child’s heart.

In the Mortal World, mothers always tell their children all kinds of mystical and strange stories, thereby creating a wonderful childhood, and the children long for the oddities within those tales.

Even if the stories are illogical and jumbled,

They remain a beautiful birthmark.

The God that Lian Xidi spoke of was etched in Mira’s heart, just like a birthmark.

Mira longed for the God her mother spoke of.

............

Lian Xidi created Lake Heart Island here, and on the island, she built a small wooden hut with a hearth. The dazzling and varied sea of flowers served as their yard, and the stars climbing the night sky were their lamps. It was here that Mira welcomed her own childhood.

As a mother, the Love God fulfilled her responsibilities, patiently caring for Mira, teaching the child all kinds of knowledge about Divine and Mortal beings, and occasionally taking Mira away from Lake Heart Island to see the outside world.

Mira once encountered a wild bear in the forest and fought with it, which was one of the most enjoyable experiences she could remember.

Besides joyful moments, Mira also witnessed much sadness.

She saw a mortal go from youth to death, witnessed strong young Heroes struck down by vicious illnesses, watched a family separated by war reunite by the hearth one day, and saw an old person commit suicide by hanging, unable to bear the loneliness of dying alone. Mira saw countless things, including great Kingdoms decline after a few seasons, and once thriving beliefs fall overnight.

Having seen so many sights, Mira sometimes grieved for them, but a child’s nature is skilled at forgetting. With each dawn and her mother’s consolation, Mira would start each new day afresh.

"Mother, what expectations do you have for me?"

One day, Mira asked softly while sitting by the hearth and hugging her legs.

Almost every mother has expectations for their children, some children become aware of this, others do not, and Mira belonged to the former.

Lian Xidi gently stroked Mira’s head and said softly,

"Continue your race, Mira.

In your race, you are the only one."

This was Lian Xidi’s expectation.

Mira, the name of the child, was also the name of the race.

This race did not originally exist in the world; it was created by Lian Xidi using Her Divine Power and Angel Grace.

Mira nodded with a smile after hearing this.

The fire cast reflections on the child’s face, and before long, the originally genderless Mira slowly developed a slightly undulating chest, and her once baby-fat body became slender and delicate.

She had long, dark hair, and small angel wings on her shoulders, no bigger than a palm, resembling toys.

Mira had become a girl.

Lian Xidi looked at Mira, with a flash of reluctance in Her eyes.

Mira leaned in and affectionately embraced her mother’s neck.

"Mira... remember, my expectations are not everything in your life.

If you are unwilling, then betray my expectations."
