Chapter 189 - 163: Leaving the Ancient Kingdom

Chapter 189: Chapter 163: Leaving the Ancient Kingdom

The celestial brilliance that reached into the heavens on the day of the climb, Divine King Shan En saw it.

Shan En’s expression was complex as he watched the scene.

Thousands of years ago, before awakening his self-awareness, Shan En yearned for his father’s prophet, yet now that another prophet had been born on earth, Shan En found his emotions mixed.

The Divine King stood within the temple, with thunder entwining around Him.

The Divine Statue crafted by Hiris, held a stone-made Divine Thunder in its hand, its face exceedingly majestic, crowned with a diadem woven from Gui Ye leaves.

He was the King of Gods.

Shan En stared at the Ancient Elf Kingdom, which should have been concealed.

In His palm, thunder roared furiously.

After a long hesitation, Shan En slowly lowered His hand.

"Why are you so lacking in confidence, Shan En?"

Divine King Shan En muttered to Himself,

"Can a mere prophet really destroy the Golden Age created by the Gods?"

The Divine King turned His gaze away, no longer looking towards the Ancient Elf Kingdom.

Then, Shan En exhaled.

If it had been right after His awakening, He might have already hurled the Divine Thunder down upon the earth to destroy the trace of this new prophet.

But now, everything was no longer the way it used to be.

Shan En had created the order among the Gods with His own hand, and in His eyes, this order was far more important than the prophet on the ground and even Himself.

If He were to grind away the existence of a prophet with Divine Thunder out of fear, it would undoubtedly be like destroying His own order with His own hands.

Shan En slowly walked out of the temple, surveying the celestial bodies moving outside the Country of Divines.

Then, Divine King Shan En focused on a particular direction.

That was the orbital trajectory of Slaier, the god of lies and trickery.

Among the three prophecies, He had long known who the fallen star in the second prophecy was.

The Gods convened a court, issued a judgment, and Divine King Shan En destroyed that star with His Glorious and Vast Divine Thunder.

This was the first trial after the founding of the Country of Divines.

However, the revelation that Slaier brought to Shan En far transcended the trial itself.

"I am the lightning."

Shan En murmured.

He began to let go of the pursuit of making the people of the world worship in fear.

Instead of establishing temples in fear,

it would be better to let the people of the earth spontaneously seek the mighty power of the thunder, and freely explore the path of the thunder.

Divine King Shan En slowly ascended from the midst of the Country of Divines, with thunder spiraling under His feet.

In a flash of lightning, Shan En arrived above His own star.

His palace was on the star, also constructed by Hiris, the God of Mountains and Craftsmen. The temple was supported by ornate columns, adorned with shining gold and dazzling gemstones. Snow-white ivory was inlaid on its flying eaves, and beautiful patterns and figures were carved on the two silver doors, recounting the countless lovely and ancient legends of the Gods.

There were maids in the temple, the forest maids created by the Forest God, they knelt on the ground and cried out in unison:

"The most glorious and great Divine King,

Enshrouded in dark clouds, the sovereign of the Country of Divines."

Shan En paid no heed to the cries of the forest maids, dragging His white robe behind, He strode into the temple.

He walked toward the depths of the temple where a circular altar stood, at the center of which floated a fragile life embryo that had been created.

That was the preliminary creation performed by Shan En with the earliest five Divines.

"Human beings..."

Shan En gazed directly at the frail life embryo, which He had named for this species.

Creating humans was not easy.

The life before Him was merely an embryo, not yet capable of living on the earth.

The races of this world, due to the blessings given during creation by the Divines, each had its own talent.

Just as the Three-eyed Ape People could prophesy, Logos folk lived long lives and possessed strong physiques, and the Sea Demons’ songs seduced...

Their respective talents allowed them to survive on this earth until today.

But Shan’en sought to create a race without innate talents.

To make humans almost worthless, yet still ensure their survival,

This was undoubtedly a difficult mission.

Yet Shan’en had not given up.

He gazed at the embryo before him, having already exhausted his efforts, and its life structure was nearly perfected.

"Next, it’s time to gather the power of all the Gods,"

Shan’en murmured.

He didn’t plan to bestow upon these humans any particular innate deity, any heaven-sent faith.

For these humans were to be a joint creation of the Gods, and naturally, their faith would be collectively owned by the Gods.

.........

.........

More than three thousand days and nights flashed by.

In these nine years, Noen learned to read and write, mastered the poetry of the Logos people, and engraved it upon stone tablets, carrying them with him.

As a Prophet, he naturally could enter the Pattern Garden, and the Priests of the mountain Elves imparted to Noen their knowledge of patterns without reservation.

The number of these patterns, their profound mysteries, astonished Noen.

The long lifespans of the Elves allowed them to create deeper philosophy than most beings.

For instance, the Elves would sometimes ask:

Do trees truly exist, or only in our minds?

Does thought originate from the soul, or from the flesh?

Besides these, there were many other profound thoughts.

Noen absorbed them one by one and also engraved them on other stone tablets.

After learning the patterns of the Pattern Garden, Noen patiently taught the Logos language, created by God, to the Elves of the Nus Kingdom and the Whale People.

The Ancient Language, created by God, was structurally similar yet distinct from the Logos language, possessing the power to communicate indescribable might.

When Noen ascended the mountain and met God in a vision, God entrusted the Ancient Language entirely to his soul.

Yet, after nine years, Noen could only grasp three words of the Ancient Language.

Those Elves taught by Noen could master at most one or two words of the Ancient Language.

Sometimes, Noen wished to engrave the Ancient Language onto stone tablets in Logos Text form, for ease of teaching.

However, whenever Noen had not even finished engraving the first character, the stone tablet would turn to powder.

After numerous attempts, Noen finally realized there was not yet a text in the world capable of bearing the might of the Ancient Language.

In addition to this, the most Noen did was retell his experiences to the Elves.

This was because the two Kings of the Nus Kingdom, the Throne Guards, and the Priests of the Pattern Garden sought to write a new history.

This new history was to record Noen’s story and to be as renowned as the earliest two histories.

After days that followed one after another, Noen finally reached the day to leave the Ancient Kingdom.

He who was honored as a Prophet had now entered middle age, and in addition to the Ancient Language, he had been endowed with the grace of an Angel.

From time to time, Prophet Noen wandered at the frontier of the Ancient Kingdom, his being laden with the Elves’ philosophy, poetry, history... the entirety of a world apart’s crystallization.

Then, one day.

Noen suddenly lifted his head, raising the Priest’s Staff in his hand, standing up from the ground.

Facing the brilliance atop the high mountains.

The Prophet softly said:

"The days are complete.

The time has come, time to leave the Ancient Kingdom.

To bring to the people the Ancient Language created by God."
