Chapter 190 - 164: Hiris Descends

Chapter 190: Chapter 164: Hiris Descends

The mountain and Craftsman God Hiris had not given up on creating a race of his own.

Hiris picked up his inherent meticulousness as a craftsman, constantly pondering during brief rests from forging and seeking inspiration amid the clanging of metal, gradually sketching the form of a new race.

But it was just a sketch, his idea was not yet mature.

Therefore, Hiris, in order to understand the intelligent beings on the earth, had even gone to the Mortal World decades ago.

In the Mortal World, he became a blacksmith named Hess, making a living crafting weapons and armor for tribal leaders every day, where he took a Beastman wife and led an ordinary life.

If it hadn’t been for Slaier damaging the hidden Star, then Hiris’s life would have continued as usual, but it was the severe injury to the Divine Goddess of Secrecy that forced him to temporarily return to the Celestial Kingdom to mend her star.

And after the initial repairs, Hiris went back to the Mortal World, returning to his day-to-day blacksmith life.

All this was like a vast lake that had been met with a ripple-spurring pebble, which, after sinking, would eventually return to a state of tranquility.

And then, over the long expanse of time, awaiting the next stone to crash into its waters.

But what if...

The next stone...

Was a falling star?

Hiris had thought he was returning to his peaceful blacksmith life but found himself unexpectedly caught up in the tides of a sudden war.

Slaier had fallen, stars plummeting to the earth, transformed into brilliant gemstones.

Hiris heard that, at first, it was merely two tribes that took up swords over this Heavenly Descending Gem.

The conflict should have ended with one side obtaining the gemstone.

However, unexpectedly, more and more tribes got involved, Beastmen invoking ancient ancestral pacts, one tribe leading several, several leading dozens, even hundreds...

A war erupted to seize the gemstone, sweeping across the land in a mighty surge.

It was as if the world had collectively lost its mind, with very few having seen the Heavenly Descending Gem yet stories about it were rife everywhere.

Some said... it contained the mighty power to grant wishes.

Others claimed... it sealed a dreadful demon within.

Some said... whoever obtained that gemstone would ascend to the throne.

...

The gemstone brought war, and glory and riches... these two witches of war, kept perpetually bewitching the masses into frenzy.

Hiris even wondered if the gemstone contained unfinished divine power, causing those who saw it to fall for Slaier’s lies and schemes, believing in the mysterious bewitchment.

The war reached Hiris, threatening to destroy everything he had.

Because...

His son, a centaur named Shanon who did not know he was a Demigod, was eager to make his mark in the bloodstained theater of war.

News that Noen was about to leave the Kingdom spread throughout the Nus Kingdom.

The mountain Elves couldn’t help but weep, feeling reluctant to part with the hard-won Prophet leaving their midst, the twin Kings of Nus held a grand farewell for the Prophet and proposed sending a full team of Elves to accompany him.

But Noen refused; he wished to journey alone.

Seeing this, the twin Kings and the High Priest pleaded fervently, not daring to let the Prophet walk the path alone; eventually, Noen agreed to let an Elf accompany him, but only one.

After careful selection by the twin Kings, a nimble Elf Hunter renowned for his Archery, named Xilan, was chosen to assist the Prophet in fulfilling the divine mission as his companion.

On the day of departure, tens of thousands of Elves crowded the seashore, witnessing Noen and his companion Xilan boarding the ship, escorted by the Unihorns across the sea to the Ancient Kingdom on the other side, where they would continue on land, traverse the desert, completely leaving this civilization untouched by the world, towards the dwelling places of mankind.

Noen stood on the deck, one hand on the Priest’s Staff, the other clutching the tablet, looking back at the slowly receding Nus Kingdom with a sense of sorrow in his heart, hugging the Historical Tablet in his hands even tighter.

Now, he had fully mastered three ancient languages, enough to wield the divine power of three different gods, and beyond that, he received the grace of angels.

Noen was no longer the frail youth he once was.

A day later, Noen and his follower Xilan began their journey into the forest before the desert, taking the road to the Ajia Kingdom.

Leading camels through the sparse woods, Noen remembered the Druid tribe from those years.

"I should go there and see."

Noen muttered to himself.

The fate of the Druids back then had shocked him immensely.

Sacrifice, seeking curses, and after being cursed, the breaking of those curses...

The endless cycle of their racial destiny seemed etched in his memory.

Noen and his follower Xilan followed the traces of the shaking leaves toward the Druid tribe.

Two days later, Noen estimated that he was about to reach the Druid tribe.

The Prophet and his follower walked in the dense forest when suddenly, Xilan stopped, his expression vigilant.

"What’s wrong?"

Noen asked.

"Blood... the scent of blood,"

Xilan sniffed,

"It’s human blood, not that of wild beasts!

And there’s the smell of ashes!"

Noen’s pupils shrank, and gripping the Priest’s Staff, a bad premonition rose in his heart.

At this moment, a breeze swept through the trees, and Noen, catching the direction of the shaking leaves, accurately determined the direction of the Druid tribe.

The Priest’s Staff tapped the ground more urgently as the Prophet and his follower made their way through the overgrown grass, finally arriving at the Druid tribe.

Noen’s eyes widened.

What met his eyes was a scene of carnage.

There were stakes in the ground, the blood on them dried to black. Pairs of Druid bodies were brutally impaled upon them, their faces twisted in agony and horror. There were signs of fire all around, and the unique rough-hewn green forest cottages were now nothing but ruins and rubble.

In the Sacrificial Square, the statue of the Curse God Yikabe was toppled and shattered on the ground, while a crudely made statue of the Dragon God Endora was erected as a victorious and triumphant symbol.

Noen, looking at this horrifying scene, gripped the Priest’s Staff in his hands tighter and tighter.

"Xilan... find out who plundered the Druids."

Upon hearing this, Xilan immediately stepped forward, using his keen Elvish observational skills to locate the footprints of the raiders.

"There! They left about two days ago! It must have been a band of Beastman raiders!"

"Let’s go!"

Noen said, resolute.

Meanwhile...

In front of the raiders’ camp gate far away.

A powerful warrior mounted on his horse, clad in armor personally forged by his father.

He held a bow and arrow, and a huge bronze sword hung on his broad horse’s waist.

Gazing at the camp before him,

The mounted warrior Shanon said to himself:

"I’ve heard... there’s a Wish Stone here."
