Chapter 82: Lala’s thoughts

Chapter 82: Lala’s thoughts

"Your human friend said you will be hunted, Coco." The fairy murmured, her voice tinged with worry.

"It will be fine." Coco assured her fairy friend, "If anything happens, I could just kill them as well, right? I mean, I have this trusty unbreakable hoe from Lulu."

Coco raised the hoe as if to prove to the fairy that she was right and that she can handle herself.

"Whatever! If you can’t do it and fail, then don’t ask me for help." Lala said and turned her head away from Coco, a pout forming on her face.

"I won’t." Coco shook her head and placed the unbreakable hoe inside of the bag she received from Joachim.

Joachim had stopped her from going back to her room when he spotted her by the inn’s lobby. He immediately gave the bag to her and told her that his wife asked him to give it to her.

It’s nice to know that Mrs. Tani is taking care of me. Coco thought, humming softly to herself as she looked around the room.

Her new clothes are folded neatly on the table with her old clothes drying on the chair, the used chamomile scented soap is resting by the small stool on the corner, placed beside the towel she uses to exfoliate her skin.

The box she received from the clothing store was delivered by Jacques and Renaldo last night so it was nowhere in sight.

She was still upset with what happened the other night inside of that house so she was quite stubborn about not going back until she felt better with herself.

Seeing that everything is in place, Coco exited her room with the garden fairy flying out before her.

She slipped the key inside of her pocket which can be found inside of the robe she’s wearing and wrapped around her tightly with a single silk around her hips.

She’s not planning to do some digging today so she bought a robe with her.

Also, just in case something bad happens like what happened yesterday, she has her robe on standby, waiting to get offered to those who need it.

"Good morning, Coco." Joachim greeted her the moment she descended the stairs.

He waited for her to get close to him and once she’s close enough, he handed her a small sling bag that looked like it had something heavy inside it.

"Breakfast and lunch are packed, my wife added a flash with fresh water." The pink haired man stated, handing her the sling bag which she accepted gratefully, "The flask has a magic stone in it, imbued it with mana once it runs out with magic to keep your water cold."

"Thank you." Coco was quick to express her gratitude, her eyes wide with fascination and astonishment.

"She was satisfied with the batch you bought yesterday so I’m more than happy to deliver these things to you." Joachim said, his voice laced with something light that Coco couldn’t name.

"I see.." She hummed and trailed off, looking to the side and gaze landing on the small basket.

"With the batch you bought yesterday, my wife said that she probably asked mostly of the fruit that you grew and asked to just bring what you could for today." Joachim explained why the basket was smaller than yesterday.

"Noted." Coco said and walked towards the basket, she bent down slightly and picked it off the floor.

She pulled the hoe out of the bag she was carrying, slipped the handle of the basket on the hoe and placed the sling bag inside with the bag she was previously carrying before slinging the hoe over her shoulder, making it her other hand free.

"Ooh! That’s so smart of you." The garden fairy said, the awe in her voice loud and clear.

"Have a safe trip." Joachim called out to her as she walked out of the Red Horse Inn, making her wave her over her shoulder to let him know that she heard him.

With the box and crocodile meat sent to the mediators’ house last night, Coco also took it upon herself to send what she bought for the four husbands for breakfast along to the two things she asked her friends to deliver.

Not only did she have those things sent, she also paid the married couple a gold coin for their service.

Moreover, combining what she earned from the butcher shop and the money she has in her pocket, she found out that she has more than five hundred gold coins.

She was already planning to pay off the debt she has in one go instead of going with the payment installments, but decided against it because going back to the agreement she had with Joachim will tarnish his trust on her.

Thus, she made up her mind on finding someone who could build a house.

"My house first or their house?" Coco wondered out loud, catching Lala’s attention in an instant.

"Your house first, of course!" The fairy said, flying over to Coco’s face, "Don’t tell me that you’re planning to tend to those four first before yourself? Prioritize yourself this time!"

Coco fought the smile that wanted to creep to her lips and nodded her head. "Yes, ma’am."

Huffing, Lala squinted her eyes into a lighthearted glare before she promptly turned her head away from Coco, as if she was still upset with her.

As they made their way to the gate, the atmosphere between the duo was light and quiet.

The only thing in their minds was the thought of harvesting fruits, watering the vegetables, catching monsters if they were lucky, and selling everything to earn money.

To be honest, the only thing in the fairy’s mind is money.

"Coco!" A masculine voice called out, snapping out the person who was called out of her daydreaming about money.

Coco stopped in her tracks and turned to the man who called out to her, requiring her attention.

"What is it, Zaque?"
