Chapter 80: Clothing store [2]
"Why is she looking at you like that?" The garden fairy asked, staring at the woman who was looking at her human friend with a weird and strange look in her eyes.
Beats me. Coco answered the fairy in her mind, looking away from the woman and opting to turn to the rack of clothings instead.
"How much for each shirt and pants in this one, miss?" Coco asked politely, doing her best to keep her expression and tone neutral, not wanting to be mistaken as crude.
"It depends, darling." The woman hummed, her voice sickly sweet and.. Sultry..?
Oh, fuck no. Coco thought as her body grew stiff when the woman got closer to her and tried to push body against Coco’s body, but Coco was quick to step aside, making the woman stumble forward instead.
She’s trying to seduce me, isn’t she?! The black haired woman thought, biting her tongue as she forced her face to stay as blank as possible.
"Please don’t call me that." Coco stated and squinted her eyes towards the woman, "Only my husbands could call me that. Calling a married person with such names can create rumors and will spread scandals."
The woman blinked and turned to her, her cheeks puffed out and eyebrows furrowed, "But you liked it when I pressed my chest against your arm the last time you came here.. What changed?"
"What..?" Coco frowned.
Did Coco Hughes cheated on her husbands with this woman? That train of thought sent a cold shiver down her spine, causing goosebumps rise in her arms.
"It’s been awhile since you last came here, you know? I was getting lonely." The woman hummed, a giggle escaping her lips as she straightened herself and turned her body towards Coco.
Now that Coco had a chance to look at the woman’s appearance, she couldn’t help, but compliment her beauty.
She must be a mediator, isn’t she? Coco thought, frowning even more.
"Did something happen between us? As far as I remember, I don’t let anyone else get close to me unless it’s my spouses." She said with a firm voice, "I can’t remember saying anything about people touching me without my consent."
The woman frowned, the agitation and confusion clear on her face, "Nothing happened yet.. But you promised that you’d let me have you if I managed to slip those pills on Ren’s drink, and I did."
Ding!
Coco ignored the notification and focused on the woman’s words, her lips pushing at the mention of pills.
"Pills? What pills? And who is Ren?" Coco inquired and slipped her hand in her pocket, she had so many questions, but little answers.
Coco Hughes must have been lower than a trash, huh?
Coco could feel her blood boiling at the thought of her predecessor doing something inhumane and leaving Coco Coison to pay for the consequences.
It’s so unfair. Coco thought, her mood taking a turn for the worst.
"Ren was the mediator that you wanted for yourself because you said that you don’t want your husbands anymore." The woman said, huffing out and crossing her arms in front of her, her action made her bossom stick out even more.
"The pills you have me? I slipped it into his drink because he didn’t want to go on the bed with you then I left you two in the pub." The woman grumbled out, her eyes squinted into a glare.
"After that, you didn’t show yourself here for weeks! How could you?! And now, you’re telling me that I shouldn’t touch you? The nerve of you, Coco Hughes!" She lashed out, raising her hand and slapping Coco across the face.
"Coco!" The fairy gasped out, the sound of the slap resonated inside the store.
As if the woman realized what she had done, her face drained of its color and her eyes went wide, "Oh, god.. No, no, I’m sorry— I didn’t.. I didn’t mean to..!"
"Just give me twenty four pairs of shirts and pants." Coco said, her voice strangely calm, "Have the four pairs in my size, have another four pairs in average mediator male size, and the rest should be bigger than the rest."
"U-Understood!" The woman squeaked out, scrambling to get away from Coco and ran back to the back of the store, her footsteps thumping softly against the floor.
"Your face.." Lala sobbed out, her tears streaming down her cheeks as she caressed Coco’s red cheek.
"I’m good." Coco assured the fairy with a small smile, "Her slap didn’t do any damage. I didn’t even feel it and if it weren’t for my head swerving to the side, I wouldn’t have known that she slapped me."
"But she hurt you." The fairy whimpered, flying close to Coco’s face and hugging her, "She’s so mean.. Why didn’t you slap her back?"
She would die if I did. Coco thought, a sweat dripping on her cheek.
I don’t know the sizes of Zaque, Heiren, Alhai, and Quizen, but this store should have their size, right? Coco hummed to herself, smiling softly at the fairy, feeling a pair of small hands rubbing her cheek.
Heiren is smaller than the other three so I asked her to have a smaller size, but I don’t know if it will fit. She added to her previous train of thoughts, her eyes skimming through the rack of clothing inside the store.
Thankfully, the woman came rushing out of the room with a box on her arms.
"Here it is— I made sure that the ones I gave will fit your husbands!" She stammered out, thrusting the box in Coco’s arms.
"How much is it?" Coco asked.
"A gold coin and two hundred silver—" The woman couldn’t finish what she was saying because Coco had shoved two gold coins in her hands.
"Two golds—" Again, the woman couldn’t finish what she was saying because of what Coco did.
Coco’s foot connected to her ankle for a moment and sent her stumbling back then she left the store without another word.
