Chapter 79: Clothing store

Chapter 79: Clothing store

"I have never considered flaunting my body." Coco grumbled under her breath, "I don’t get why Jacques would think that."

"Well.. When I was in your world, I saw people wearing clothes similar to yours, but we haven’t seen anyone wearing something like that here, right?" Lala hummed out, sitting upright on Coco’s shoulder.

"Oh.." Coco mumbled, looking around to look at the people she passed by who looked at her with weird looks and threw nasty glances in her way, "Maybe you’re right.. Thanks, Lala."

The garden fairy smiled and giggled, she rubbed her head on Coco’s cheek like how a cat rubs their head on their favorite person.

The clothing store in the village was said to be near Old Jin’s store, but she can’t remember if such a store exists in the village in the first place because she has been in that world for days.

It’s probably because I don’t go to this part of the village.. I only came here when I heard from Mrs. Tani that someone sells electronics here. Coco thought to herself, her eyes scanning the shops and stores she passes by.

Fortunately, the clothing store wasn’t blending well in the other buildings because if it did, she would have completely missed it.

The clothing store stood in the center of the small village of Yogusho Village, its exterior a welcome sight to the locals and the occasional passerby.

"Ooh! Look at those!" Lala said, her eyes bright in excitement as she flew over to the clothing store first.

The clothing store ahead of her was a strange sight, its exterior not blending in easily with the surroundings, but still has a nice charm to it.

The building was constructed of the same materials as the other houses, stores, and shops in the area, the walls made of dark oak woods, cobblestones with the roof of red-tinged roofings that she’s not sure what kind of material they used.

The windows of the shop were large and clean, the glass panes shining in the dim light of the village’s streetlights and were framed with metal, and looking past it, you would be able to see a display of colorful clothes.

Meanwhile, the front door was painted a bright and cheerful shade of yellow, the color adding a splash of color to the otherwise rustic setting.

The color of the door was the reason why Coco managed to spot the store in the first place, although the big sign on top of the door that says, CORAL’S STORE, helped as well, but that’s what matters, right?

Despite the simple exterior of the building, the shop was still charming and inviting, the friendly vibe of the store was evident in the carefully tended flower bed that stood in front of the shop.

"The flowers are a mix of roses and tulips, Coco! They’re well cared for and healthy!" The garden fairy laughed, the tone of her voice cheerful as she looked at the flowers.

Coco stood outside the clothing store, her eyes fixed on the mannequins displayed in the front window which are made of wood with the mannequins standing tall and proud, their forms covered in a variety of different outfits.

The clothes on display were a mixture of color, the various fabrics and designs reflecting light in a dazzling display.

Coco’s eyes roamed over the outfits, her mind already imagining wearing them herself and walking around, working, and interacting.

"Let’s go, Lala." She called out to the fairy and pushed the glass doors open, pausing momentarily as she waited for the fairy to perch herself on her shoulders.

Once the fairy did, she walked inside of the store, her eyes immediately skimming over the racks of clothes on display.

The store was filled with a variety of styles, but mainly seemingly similar to her previous world’s traditional clothing— kimono, yukata, hanfu with a mixture of kilts, dresses.

Coco’s attention was caught by a rack of the traditional clothing of chinese and japanese, the colorful fabrics and skillful embroidery catching her eye.

She began to sift through the kimono, hanfu, and yukata, her fingers running over the different fabric, her mind considering each one, but then, she withdrew her hand to her side and walked away.

She didn’t come to the clothing store to buy clothes that would restrict her movements, she went to the clothing store to buy clothes that would cover her body while also letting her move freely and those traditional clothing wouldn’t allow that.

Thankfully though, her eyes were instantly drawn to a rack of linen shirts and pants that stood nearby as soon as she walked away from the traditional clothings.

"These ones are the ones you previously have." Lala commented, getting off Coco’s shoulders and inspected the fabrics more closely, "Pants and shirts so you can tend to the plants, and run away from monsters, right?"

"Mhmm." Coco wordlessly agreed, touching the clothes and judging how the material looked soft and airy, the fabric fluttering in the slight breeze that blew through the shop.

The shirts were a mixture of dark and light colors, the fabric thin and light. The pants were the same colors as well, their waistband loose and comfortable, and it took everything in Coco to not just bring out the money to buy everything before her.

No.. Be frugal, be frugal.. It took you a lot of work to earn so much money.. Coco mused in her mind, holding herself back from spending too much.

Just as she was about to choose something, a feminine voice reached her ears.

"Coco Hughes?"

Coco and Lala looked at the person at the same time, their heads snapping up with their eyes blinking owlishly to the woman approaching them.

"Have you chosen any clothing that suits your taste?" The woman asked, a honeyed smile on her face, her gaze trained on Coco’s chest with a familiar sticky look.

Coco felt a shiver run down her spine, and it wasn’t the good kind.
