Chapter 73: Struggle

Chapter 73: Struggle

With the crocodile bleeding on the ground, Coco knows that it’s only a matter of time before it starts to get spoiled.

She dropped the bloody unbreakable hoe and crouched down to get the perfect moment to haul the crocodile over her shoulders.

The tough crocodile is by far the longest and biggest monster she had encountered, next to the flying pig. It was also the toughest one out of the three monsters she had to defeat because of the armor as its hide.

"Can you carry that, Coco?" The garden fairy asked, her eyebrows furrowed in worry.

"I think so." Coco grunted out and grabbed the crocodile’s short leg before pulling it over to her spot, only to have it move it halfway through— struggling slightly as she did so.

"I guess not.." She muttered and let go of the crocodile’s leg.

She looked over to the scroll on her right side, staring at the skills she has— well, if you could call those skills anyways.

"Since I can’t carry this damn crocodile then I might as well put all the skill points I got on strength." Coco murmured, raising an arm and almost immediately, a golden quill appeared in her hand.

She hummed softly as she pressed the tip of the quill against the surface of the scroll.

She placed all the skill points on the passive skill [Strength] without hesitation, her mind focused at the thought of bringing the crocodile home first.

[ List of Coco Coison’s (Hughes) skill:

> Green Fingers [6] ( + )

— Strength [16] ( + )

— Stamina [10] ( + )

> Purification [1] ( + ) ]

"I’ll put the next passive skill points I will get next time on the stamina skill so I can run longer next time." Coco said, promising herself that she will do what she said.

Then, she looked away from the scroll and stared at the dead monster by her feet.

"Here goes nothing.." Coco muttered under her breath as she crouched down, bent her knees, her muscles tense as she prepared to lift the heavy creature onto her shoulders, and took a firm grip on the crocodile.

Her muscles strained with the effort of lifting it up, grunting heavily, her arms straining with the weight of the monster as she fought to maintain her grip and balance it on her shoulders.

She staggered forward for a moment, her legs struggling to bear the weight of the massive beast— her body rocked as she hoisted the crocodile properly on her shoulders, straightening her body and steadying herself.

"You’re so strong, Coco!" The garden fairy squealed, kicking her feet in the air as she watched her human friend carry the monster.

"I’m struggling a little, Lala." Coco chuckled out nervously with her voice cracked slightly as she let out a strained huff.

Despite its size, she was able to lift it somehow with ease, slinging the crocodile over her shoulders like a massive bag of potatoes, albeit wrestling against the weight of the monster slightly.

The creature was surprisingly heavy— considering that she carried both the poison tiger and flying pig without breaking a sweat— its long body coiled over Coco’s back.

Coco let out a groan as she stood upright, her legs steady under the weight of the reptile.

She started to walk, the crocodile swaying with the motion of her steps, its tail dragging behind her like a cape, and kicked the hoe up on her way to her little space beside the stream of water.

"Can you make the basket fly, Lala?" Coco asked the garden fairy, glancing on the right to look at the fairy who was busy ogling the dead crocodile on her shoulders.

"Yep! I can even carry the bag for you if you want? You’re already carrying this massive crocodile so I ought to give you a hand!" Lala exclaimed, a large grin plastered on her face as she turned to Coco.

"I don’t want to trouble you nor let you carry anything, but I can’t carry both the bag and the basket so I’ll take you up on the offer." Coco smiled at Lala, making the fairy giggle and go ahead, flying over to where the bag and basket were.

The fairy hovered in the air, her wings fluttering as she waved her hand over the large basket below.

A shimmering cloud of golden dust began to fall from her hands, drifting down towards the basket— each sparkling particle of dust danced and glittered as it fell, the tiny flecks of magic swirling and dancing in the air.

The basket soon got coated in a shimmery layer of golden dust, twinkling and sparkling as the dust settled.

Lala turned her attention next to the heavy-looking bag that lay nearby and flew over there then she began to sprinkle the same dust on the bag, the shimmering flecks of magic settling on the woven leaves.

The bag and the basket, both now shimmering with the sparkling dust that shines like glitters, began to rise slowly into the air.

They floated up, bobbing gently and slightly, its contents secure inside as it hovered in the air.

Without wasting any time, Lala grabbed the handle of the bag and held it tightly, turning to her human friend who started pushing the basket towards the path down the mountain.

"Thank you, Lala." Coco expressed her gratitude to the fairy with a smile and a kiss on Lala’s head.

Lala giggled when she felt Coco’s lips on her head, "You’re welcome~"

"Remove the dust later once we’re near the village, okay? We can leave the basket outside, I’m sure no one will steal the fruits knowing it’s mine." Coco said, pushing the basket as she tread carefully down the path.

With the crocodile on her shoulders and its tail dragging on the ground below, the tip of its tail made a trail, making Coco contemplate whether she should go back to erase the trail or not.

"I’ll come back later if I can." Coco hummed out, turning her attention back to the path ahead.
