Chapter 72: Unbreakable hoe

Chapter 72: Unbreakable hoe

"What kind of hoe is this?!"

The hoe in Coco’s hand is like any farming tool someone could find in the market.

The unbreakable hoe was fashioned from a single piece of gleaming metal and was remarkably light despite its appearance saying that it should weigh a lot.

Like all destructible farm items for the farmers, it had signs of wear and a little damage in the handle, its surface seemingly still gleaming and smooth despite the sign of its occasional use.

The handle was crafted from a single piece of dark wood and was covered with unreadable carvings that shone faintly in the sunlight with fancy cursives written on the wood that doesn’t seem to make sense for Coco.

The blade of the hoe was wide and flat, the surface sharp and shining, its edge leaves no doubt that it would be able to cut through soil and stone alike with effortless ease.

"But what about that tough crocodile?!" Coco hissed as she glared at the monster below, "This how wouldn’t cut through those damn armor! It’s shining like it’s made out of metal so can this thing kill that?!"

"Don’t be mad, Coco!" Lala said and grabbed Coco’s ear to get her attention, "We can use that to kill it— trust me!"

"But it looks so worn out, look!" Coco exclaimed, holding out the hoe and letting the garden fairy the farming tool that still has dirt on it, "How can I trust this thing to not break?"

"It really won’t, I promise." Lala promised, her voice stern with determination and confidence.

Sighing heavily and smiling crookedly, the tone of the fairy’s voice made Coco want to believe her— it’s not like she doesn’t trust the garden fairy, it’s the hoe that she doesn’t trust, but even so, she decided to trust Lala.

"Alright." Coco hummed out, standing over the branch and looking down on the tough crocodile with the unbreakable hoe in her hand in a tight grip.

"Stay here, okay? I don’t want you to get hurt while I bring down that crocodile." The human tutted towards the fairy.

"Okay!" Lala exclaimed, giving Coco a playful salute.

Coco could only shake her head and look back on the monster, her eyes scanning the crocodile’s tough armor for any sign of weakness, but after a while, she couldn’t find anything.

Thankfully though, the crocodile hasn’t released the toxic gas because if it did, she would be a goner.

Coco was quick to move, crouching down for a short moment and leaped in the air, the unbreakable hoe in her hand swinging in a wide arc.

The blade sliced through the air, the blade of the hoe connected with the tough crocodile’s tough armor, the blow solid and powerful which caused the crocodile to let out an anguished roar, its body twisting in agony.

Coco’s eyes went wide when she saw the hoe sink into the armor, not expecting for it to be sharp.

Though, that shock of hers didn’t last long.

The crocodile wriggled and struggled slightly to get away from the hoe, making Coco stumble forward and ultimately swing the hoe up to get it off the crocodile.

She quickly braced herself as the crocodile stopped struggling and lunged towards her, the monster’s sharp teeth bared in a snarl and was open wide, ready to snap her neck in half.

With her heart racing and body moving on its own, she barely dodged its attack, her movements clumsy and uncoordinated.

Coco’s muscles coiled with tension, the grip on the hoe tightening as she forced her mind to focus on the task at hand. With another swing of the unbreakable hoe, she delivered a strong and brutal blow to the crocodile’s head, the impact letting out a sickening crack.

"Fuck!" Coco cussed out when the crocodile continued to lunge at her and she immediately stepped aside to evade it.

She gathered her balance once more with her hand gripped tightly around the handle of her hoe, and with one swift swing, she brought the weapon down, slamming the blade into the monster’s tough armor.

CRACK!

The crocodile let out a loud, pained screech, its body convulsing after feeling the impact of the blow.

Hot and red liquid spilled from the wound, spraying in the air— staining the ground, flying over to Coco’s spot, blood spluttering on the hoe and her clothing.

Although the monster may have received a wound from Coco, it still moved.

The tough crocodile roared and snapped at her, its jaws closing inches from her face and the tough armor it had breaking into pieces, falling on the ground.

Unlike earlier, the crocodile couldn’t move fast and was struggling to keep itself on his feet.

Coco took advantage of that.

Barely dodging the crocodile’s jaw, Coco made another powerful swing as she brought the hoe down on the crocodile’s head, the blade slicing through the air with a whoosh— the enchanted tool cracking loudly against its tough armor.

The crocodile’s eyes rolled back, and it slumped to the ground with a heavy thud.

The blade struck the crocodile’s head, sinking deep into its flesh, blood spurting from the cut— on its neck and head— as the crocodile let out a loud pained roar, its body thrashing and twisting in agony.

Coco pulled the hoe out of the crocodile’s head with force, grunting under her breath as she did so, making more blood spray all over the air, staining the ground and her clothing.

"Oh, man.. This will be hard to get off." Coco frowned, grabbing the hem of her top and staring down on the cotton.

Ding!

The sound of the notification caught Coco’s attention, temporarily making her push her worry at the back of her mind as she waited for the scroll to appear before her eyes.

"You’re so amazing, Coco!" Lala squealed, making Coco shake her head with a smile.

"It’s all because of this unbreakable hoe."
