New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 71: Lulu to the rescue!

Chapter 71: Lulu to the rescue!

"Why is this happening again?!" Coco cried out, leaping in the air to evade the monster’s bite and running down the river to go away from basket and vegetable patches.

The tough crocodile is big and long— too long that Coco thought she was getting chased by car. Not only was the tough crocodile big and long, it was also fast.

"Eeeek! Run, Coco! Run!" The garden fairy shrieked, gripping Coco’s hair as the human continued to run.

"How do I kill that?!" Coco hissed, her legs almost blurry for the eyes due to how fast she’s running, going left and right to evade the trees ahead.

"I don’t know!" Lala cried, her hold on Coco’s hair tightening, "Lulu! Help us!"

"Lulu!" Since the garden fairy called out for her big sister, Coco decided to do the same, screaming out the older fairy’s name in hopes that the fairy would do something.

"Luluuuuuu!" The crying fairy screamed, her voice high-pitched from the fright of seeing the tough crocodile running after them like its body doesn’t have an armor for a hide.

The tough crocodile’s skin was shining and had spikes all over its back, and Coco has no doubt that it would be hard and tough as nails— if she tried to punch it like how she did to the poison tiger or smack it with a tree like what she did to the flying pig, she’s sure that it would work.

What choice does she have?

"Lulu! Please!" Coco screamed, the veins in her neck popping and making themselves known by how loud she screamed.

"Luluuuuuuuuuuuu!" Lala yelled out her sister’s name on the top of her lungs, making Coco’s ears ring by how loud and ear splitting Lala’s scream was, especially since the fairy was literally next to her right ear.

As Coco runs, she would glance over her shoulder to see if she had lost the tough crocodile, only to let out a scream out of fright because the monster is hot on her trails.

"Lulu! Please listen to our cries and prayers! We’re actually about to die here!" Coco sobbed out, her hands clenching into tight fists as she forced herself to go faster, not wanting to get caught by the crocodile’s snapping jaw.

At this point, Coco had run around the area where the vegetable patches, basket, and house were in, only a kilometer away from them.

She had already run four to six laps, just running around, not wanting to run too far from the basket because she felt like the tough crocodile was not alone and might have brought its buddies.

"Lulu!—"

Ding!

Coco abruptly stopped herself from calling out for the fairy, the familiar chime of the notification echoing in the back of her head, a sense of relief washing all over her when she saw a scroll appear before her.

She’s still running when the scroll opened itself and started shaking— a slightly high pitched voice resonating in the air.

"Stop calling for me just because the two of you can’t get rid of a monster and clear the quest like the previous ones! Kiki will start suspecting if the two of you keep this up!"

Coco was confused, why is the scroll talking? Shaking and folding as if it was mad.

However, as much as she wants to be fascinated by the new mechanic of the system, she couldn’t really bask in the newfound eagerness to find out how the talking scroll works because of the monster chasing her.

"Help us, please!" Lala shrieked out, ignoring everything the scroll just said and continued to cry.

"Whatever! I sent another mission! Be grateful that I’m still sitting down in my cubicle or else! You two would have been dead meat by now!" The scroll screamed at Coco and the fairy, folding in half before it took itself apart.

It shredded itself to pieces, making Coco go wide eyed at what she just witnessed.

Did she just watch a thing suicide?

The thought made Coco shudder, but then, another scroll spread before her.

Ding!

[Side quest {1}: Getting up on a Oak Tree

Kiki is already suspicious as to why Lala disappeared from Fairydale and wants to search for her, if he found out what she did, she would face a hundred years of solitude!

Time Duration: 1 hour

Penalty: Deduction of five skill points

Reward: Unbreakable Hoe ]

Barely skimming through the content of the quest and reading only the name, Coco got faster.

Coco’s legs pumped as she sprinted through the forest, her breathing coming in as ragged gasps with the sound of the tough crocodile’s heavy feet echoed behind her.

She reached a nearby tree and leapt up, her body reacting with lightning speed as she hoisted herself up her fingers grasping the rough bark of the branch as she hauled herself up.

She clung to the branch like a cat, her body tense and trembling, her eyes darting nervously in the direction of the tough crocodile.

The rough bark scraped her hands, leaving a couple of splinters and scratches, but she ignored the pain as she quickly climbed up to the upper branches, heaving deep breaths as she did so.

She perched there for a moment, her heart still pounding from the chase, her body trembling with adrenaline.

From her position on the upper branch, she could see the tough crocodile, its jaw snapping and closing on nothing, its teeth are razor sharp and pointy, leaving no room of doubt that it would be able to pierce through its prey’s bones.

Ding!

The chime of the notification echoed, making Coco look up and wait for the scroll to appear.
