New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 62: Cheap and embarrassment

Chapter 62: Cheap and embarrassment

"It’s still early so we still have time to buy the oven, blender, and the toaster I promised to buy." Coco said to no one particular, putting the pouch of money inside of her pocket.

Her previous pouch is empty because she bought vegetables, magic stones, and tools for baking for the first husband— poof, just like that, the gold coins vanished without leaving a trace.

Well, perhans, not without leaving a trace. It certainly left Coco feeling depressed for a minute.

"Oh, come onnnn..!" A certain small and adorable creature exclaimed, rolling on top of Coco’s head and kicking her small legs in the air before raising herself, sitting up.

"You still have to buy them, what? Oven? Blender? Toaster? That’s a lot of things!" The fairy whined, grabbing Coco’s hair and pulling on it, "Stop buying them things that they might not need or use!"

It was clear that Lala was upset and she wasn’t having it so to calm her down, Coco thought of the quest given to her.

Coco forced out a cough and raised a hand to cover her mouth to say, "Cough, cough, I need to buy things for Zaque to complete the quest, cough, cough, or else, I won’t get the reward that, cough, cough, sounds fancy."

People who walked past Coco looked at her with both concern and disgust, shifting away from her path, afraid to be coughed out.

"Aww.. So, it’s because of the mission sister Lulu gave you? Aww! You just received plenty of coins, but you have to spend it because of the mission!" Lala grumbled, her grip on Coco’s hair tightening as she let out words to express her frustration.

Coco dropped her hand to her side and continued to walk towards the shop beside the town hall, her eyes glued on the building by the end of the street, the wooden door open with a long haired man walking inside.

Looking away, Cock picked up the pace and approached the building beside the town hall.

True to Mrs. Tani’s words, the building does look bigger than the town hall and has multiple electronics on the display.

Though they looked like they were second hands, they still looked good and looked clean.

"You do know that you shouldn’t spoil them, right? They are not even yours! They were married to the old Coco Hughes!" The fairy exclaimed, her ramblings, whines, and complaints seem to be never-ending so of course, Coco ignored her.

Coco walked inside the shop, the bell ringing and announcing her arrival.

As she walked through the door, an old woman crouched down arranging something that had caught Coco’s attention as soon as she got through the door.

A large oven that is almost as tall as Coco’s waist was being placed carefully by the old woman on the floor, her eyes widening in surprise when she noticed that the oven could be used to cook a few pastry or bread inside it.

"How much for that oven, ma’am?" Coco asked, not wasting any time and let the oven get bought by someone else.

The old woman ceased her movement for a moment before she fully placed the heavy oven on the floor with the floorboards creaking in protest beneath the old woman and the oven.

"This young one is priced as ten gold coins, but can be down to eight coins if you are willing to buy that young one over there." The old woman started as she pointed at the blender sitting on top of one of the shelves without looking at Coco.

So, in short, the blender costs two gold coins and the oven is eight gold coins? Coco thought, calculating the amount of the equipment she will buy.

"Sold." The black haired woman chirped happily, taking out the pouch with a large smile, "If you have a toaster, too, I would like to buy one as well. How much would all of that be?"

The old woman let out a huff and walked to the right, going to the shelves with various electronics that Coco isn’t familiar with, "That would be twelve gold coins."

Woah, everything seems so cheap. Coco mused in her mind with a satisfied hum, picking out twelve gold coins from the pouch as she approached the wooden counter, being careful with her steps, not wanting to trip and fall on one of the appliances.

"I’ll take the oven, blender, and toaster, please." Coco said out loud and placed the twelve gold coins on top of the counter, turning to look at the woman.

"Would you like a helper to be called in for the oven—" The old woman asked, but stopped speaking and moving when she saw who she was doing a transaction with, her eyes wide in surprise and disbelief.

"No, I can carry everything. Oh, if you have a bag, please put the blender and toaster there, I can pay extra silver coins for the bag if you want to." Coco hummed out, the smile still on her face as she tilted her head towards the old woman.

She’s not sure why the old woman looked shocked to see her there, but she’s not Coco Hughes anymore so why should she care?

The old woman cleared her throat and seemed to realize that she was staring inappropriately at Coco, "N-no need for that, child. The bag will be free considering that you brought the oven."

"Oh.. Thank you." Coco blinked and nodded her head, "Then, please give me the toaster and blender."

"Understood.. Since you did not want to have a helper, I suggest starting carrying that thing— it’s heavier than you think, trust me." The old woman said, looking away from Coco and continued to approach the counter.

"Coco is strong! Don’t worry about that oven!" The fairy huffed out, crossing her arms as she flew in front of the old woman, "Keep your eyes on my human friend and you’ll see how amazing and powerful she is!"

Haha.. Stop it, Lala..!
