New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 53: Girl dinner..?

Chapter 53: Girl dinner..?

The flying pig was blissfully oblivious to the danger until it was almost too late. Its pink feather wings beating happily, a soft, steady rhythm, it flew through the air, enjoying the sight of the misty sprays of the waterfall.

Then, suddenly, a sound caught its attention.

It looked up, its tiny head swiveled around, its beady red eyes widening in alarm as it realized the threat in front of it, not expecting to see the source of the commotion to be its impending doom approaching.

Unfortunately for the poor flying pig, its gaze landed on the woman’s towering form, her body suspended in the air, the tree clutched in her grasping hands.

The flying pig’s heart skipped a beat as it realized the dangerous situation it was in, its tiny legs dangling limply in the air.

The black haired woman’s exposed arms were flexed, her lips curled up into a wide and excited smile, her emerald eyes shining bright as she moves to swing the tree, aiming with all her might to smack the flying pig.

It was as if the flying pig was witnessing its predator in slow motion, her body moving gracefully and fluidly, the tree in her hands swinging down with tremendous force.

"Girl dinner!" Coco yelled out, taking the flying pig completely off guard as it let out an ear-piercing high-pitched squeal of terror.

The flying pig didn’t even have time to react, its wings flapping frantically as it desperately tried to avoid the blow.

Its body was too slow, though, and the tree slammed into its side almost immediately, knocking it out of the air with a sickening crunch, sending it tumbling through the air with a pained squeal.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!

"Home run!" Coco exclaimed, watching the flying pig fall as she also fell.

Then, Coco braced herself, looking down to see if she could land safely on the ground, but she realized her mistake of leaping in the air to take down the unsuspecting flying pig.

Her eyes widened in surprise and even fear as her plan to land on her feet was thrown out of the window— Coco wanted to land on the ground with grace, but she found herself hurtling towards the waterfall instead.

The waterfall was directly beneath her, the spray from the rushing water splashing into her face, the water cold and cold on her skin.

"Oh, fuck—" Coco cussed out before she completely slammed into the pool at the base of the waterfall.

The impact sent a shock through her body, the force of the falling water slamming her against the rocks with enough force to knock the wind out of her.

Coco was fast enough to fight to swim to the surface, gasping for air, the force of the waterfall churning the water around her, almost pushing her under.

Despite the churning water and the powerful pull of the waterfall, the woman managed to break the surface, gasping and panting as she emerged.

She struggled to keep herself a float as she inhaled as much oxygen as she could, her body exhausted from the unexpected fall to the water and the sudden change of environment.

The sound of the waterfall was deafening, the sound of the rushing water so loud that she couldn’t hear anything else, other than the rapid beat of her own heart.

The rushing and strong current of the water still swirled around her, buffeting her body with its force, but the woman was able to push herself up, her arms and legs kicking and flailing to keep her head above water.

She looked around, coughing as she did so, her eyes straining against the glare of the water-filled light, trying to get her bearings.

"Coco!" Among the stampedes of sounds around her, the garden fairy’s voice managed to reach her ears, dripping with worry and panic, as if she was on the verge of crying.

Though, knowing Lala, Coco already knew that the fairy is already crying.

"I’m okay!" She yelled out, her voice raspy from the lack of oxygen and anxious beating of her heart, trying to assure her fairy friend despite everything she’s feeling at the moment.

"Coco!" The fairy cried out once more, this time, sounding close to her spot.

With every strong butterfly stroke, Coco fought against the rushing water, her eyes fixed on the bank as the water tried to push her back into the waterfall.

Coco moved quickly, her body cutting through the water like a knife, her only focus was the dry land a few feet away from her.

Finally, she reached the bank, her arms and legs working together to pull her up out of the water.

"Coco!" The garden fairy cried once more, the familiar sound of Lala’s flapping wings echoed in the back of head like a melody that calmed her anxiety down.

"Cocooooo!" Lala cried, sobbing loudly as she embraced her human friend’s wet face, her own heart beating fast inside her chest, "I thought you died again and left me! I really thought you left me alone!"

Coco listened to the fairy’s cries, her heartbeat still pounding from the fright she had experienced, but the fairy’s presence helped her fear dissipate slowly.

"Why would you jump in the air like that? Waaaaah! You almost died on me..! Don’t leave me!" Lala sobbed out, hiccuping and gripping Coco’s face as tight as she could, trying to prevent the fear from spreading further.

It took Coco several minutes before she could clear her mind and finally talk, her heart slowing down from its erratic beating.

"I’m so sorry, Lala.. I also scared myself shitless." Coco said, rubbing her temples with her thumb and index finger, thinking of how stupid she was for making a mistake that could ultimately kill her.

"You.. You also scared me!" Lala exclaimed, still hugging her face, still too scared to let go.

"I know, I know.. I’m sorry." Coco apologized, her eyebrows furrowing as the guilt ate on her conscience.

"Please don’t do that again."
