Chapter 121: THE HEMSWORTH FIEF

"Ah, Princess, you look adorable." Adeline gushed excitedly.

Aristia listened to Adeline as she blabbered on and on about how adorable she was.

[Yeah, I know I’m beautiful.]

She had just taken a bath and her cheeks were flushed, making her look especially cute.

"Princess Tia, you will definitely look even more adorable in this dress." Adeline held up a pink dress excitedly.

[Why did I agree to wear whatever dress she chooses?] Aristia thought regretfully.

Adeline exclaimed excitedly when she had dressed up Aristia. Aristia really looked extremely adorable dressed up like that.

She was wearing a fluffy, pink gown, a pair of cute pink shoes and her hair had been styled into a twin ponytail and tied with pink ribbons. She was going all pink.

They were at an inn in the Hemsworth Fief and were heading to the Hemsworth Estate.

They had left the Capital three days ago, just a month after the festival for the entrance into the new year.

As she expected, after the aristocrats found out and verified that The Vanilla Courtyard actually served doughnuts, the influx of people in the restaurant increased by a lot.

However, Aristia and her family were no longer in the Capital.

The servants had packed their luggage and loaded it in the carriage. They left for the Hemsworth Fief towards afternoon, another carriage containing their servants and luggage behind them. A few guards rode in front of them on horseback.

It was the month of February and the weather was still a bit cold. Inside the carriage occupied by the Grand Duke’s family, Wilson and Catherine engaged in conversation, while Aristia and Alaric watched the view outside the window.

The journey from the capital to the Hemsworth Fief would take about three days.

They rode on for quite some time before finally leaving Belonmusk. The kingdom of Amberale was very large and vast. It would better be called an Empire instead.

By the time they left the capital, the evening had just arrived. They had riden for four hours. They stopped at an inn to rest before continuing the journey.

At the inn, the innkeeper welcomed them warmly. After they had settled in, he made sure that they were very comfortable— well, as comfortable as one could get in the inn— and made sure he and the workers at the inn would be of great service to them. It was a small inn.

The servants started to bring in the luggage and Catherine oversaw the work.

Wilson and Catherine shared a room as expected, while Aristia and Alaric shared another. Originally, they had intended to book seperate rooms but Alaric had disagreed, and Aristia had no problems, so that was how they had ended up in the same room.

Cassandra was making the bed ready for Aristia and Alaric before she would head to her shared room in the inn with Adeline, while Adeline was helping Aristia and Alaric take an evening bath. The inn was already small and the servants and guards occupied most of the rooms.

"Have a good rest, Princess and Prince." Adeline and Cassandra bowed.

"You too." Aristia replied.

Adeline and Cassandra then left the room.

The inn bed wasn’t very large but it was enough for two adults to lie on comfortably with space in between. Aristia and Alaric were children so there was still enough space on the bed.

The room was simple with a small wooden drawer beside the bed which was on the right side of the room, wooden floorboards and brown walls. There was another door in the room which led to a small bathroom.

Aristia waited for Alaric to climb into the bed and move to the space close to the wall before she climbed into the bed.

Aristia started to think of the reason they were headed to the Hemsworth Fief in the first place. Her thoughts were interrupted when Alaric kept tossing and turning restlessly. She turned over on the bed to her right to face him.

"What’s wrong, Al?" She asked curiously.

"I can’t sleep." Alaric replied.

Aristia could understand why. The bed was not at all as comfortable as his bed back home. Aristia could also feel it. It was just that she was ignoring it. She was an adult she could endure the slight discomfort.

"How about I read you a story? Would you like that?" She asked.

"Yes, please." Alaric nodded happily.

Then, he hopped down from the bed and towards the little table in the room and picked up his book he had placed there when his bag was being unpacked.

Aristia had made sure she fulfilled her promise and made a story book for Alalric.

He quickly returned to the bed and handed the book to Aristia. "Could you read the story of the little cat?" He asked expectantly.

"You mean Puss In Boots." Aristia asked.

"Yes! That one." Alaric nodded his head.

"Once upon a time, there lived in a little village, a little cat called Puss in Boots..." Aristia read on and Alaric became so absorbed in the story that he forgot about the earlier discomfort he felt.

Aristia read for a little while, then she turned to look at Alaric when she realized he had made no movement for some time, only to see his eyes closed. He was sleeping soundly.

Aristia smiled helplessly and closed the book. "Goodnight, little brother."

She placed the book on the drawer beside the bed and blew out the candle, then she laid back down on the bed. She soon fell asleep.

When morning came. The Grand Duke’s family had breakfast at the inn and continued the journey to the Hemsworth Fief.

A day later, they finally arrived at the Hemsworth Fief by the time it was afternoon. They stopped at an inn to rest.

The Hemsworth Fief was located in the North; the mountainous region. It was still cold in February especially at night.

After taking baths and having lunch at the inn, they got dressed. It was at this moment that Adeline was dressing Aristia in the pink dress.

"You’re ready, my princess." Adeline placed the hair brush on the table and turned to Aristia. "You’re very pretty, Princess Tia."

"Thank you, Linny. Let’s go." Aristia smiled at her after a few more glances in the mirror.

"The shawl," Adeline said, coming to place a thick, snow-white shawl on Aristia’s shoulders.

They left the room to the lobby of the inn where the rest of the family was gathered.

"Now that we are all ready, let’s head to the carriage." Wilson announced, cold air left his mouth as he spoke.

They boarded the carriage, along with the servants. The guards on horseback took their positions in front of and behind the moving carriages and they started to move towards the Hemsworth Estate.

"Oh my, Tia. You look like a doll." Catherine gushed on seeing her daughter dressed in pink. It had been a while since she had seen her dressed in pink. She looked so cute!

"Thank you, mama. You’re very beautiful too." Aristia complimented sincerely.

Catherine was dressed in a light purple dress and had a black shawl on her shoulders because of the cold weather. She looked elegant and radiated with beauty.

Wilson, on the other hand, was dressed in a purple shirt, a grey vest and black trousers, and was putting on a black coat.

Alaric was dressed in a pink shirt, white trousers and a white vest. He was also wearing a black coat. He looked super cute and Aristia almost couldn’t resist pinching his cheeks. They were a very beautiful family.

An hour later, they arrived at the gates of the Hemsworth Estate. Seeing the emblem of the Royal family, the guards quickly opened the gates to allow the royal family to enter.

The carriage finally arrived in front of the Hemsworth mansion. It was larger than their mansion in the capital.

The carriage came to a halt and the Grand Duke and his family alighted the carriage.

The Viscount Hemsworth Family and the Anton Ducal Family were standing outside to welcome them. They had received a letter that the Grand Ducal Amberale Family had arrived at the Hemsworth Fief some hours ago and would arrive at the Hemsworth Estate at dusk.

While they were having tea, a servant informed them that they had arrived at the mansion and they immediately went to greet them at the mansion’s entrance. It was basic courtesy, especially with someone of higher rank.

Aristia got down from the carriage with the help of Wilson and scanned the faces present. All the members of the main branch of the Anton and Hemsworth families were present. Her grandparents, Edgar and Claire Anton, were present. Vasily Hemsworth was also there.

The current head of the Hemsworth Viscount family stepped forward to welcome them.

Aristia greeted the Viscount. "Greetings, Viscount Hemsworth. Your Lordship, it’s a pleasure to meet you."

Viscount Ross Hemsworth nodded in amusement. Tia was showing him her progress in class.

He, in turn, greeted Wilson and Catherine with exaggerated respect, saying, "Greetings to the esteemed Grand Duke Amberale and your illustrious family. It is an honor to have you grace our humble abode. May your visit bring prosperity and joy to our home."

Wilson nodded plainly in acknowledgement of the greeting.

Catherine cut through with a laugh and hit Ross lightly on the shoulder. "Stop with the formality?"

An elderly voice replied, "Ignore them. Come inside my dear."

Aristia looked up at the person who spoke since she was still... not very tall.

It was an elderly woman who looked like a grandmother. She had pink hair and purple eyes and looked kind and beautiful. Aristia had seen her during the Kingdom’s anniversary banquet.

She smiled at the woman. "Hello, great grandmother."
