Chapter 45: Town
Chapter 45: Town
"Stop there. What business do you have with this town. State your intent with this town." A weird looking guard stopped Tim and Idah who were in front of the town entrance.
They had been traveling for a couple of hours before they eventually reached the town that Tim wanted to go to.
Tim had initially decided to let go of the trafficking matter, but he later changed his mind. There was a need for him to at least get rid of their operations.
Knowing fully well that him getting rid of a trafficking ring in a small town would not affect of stop the level of trafficking in the current world that he was in.
He still decided to do a little good.
"We are here strictly for business." Idah, who was behind Tim came forward and stated. The guard seeing Idah Knew already who Idah was.
He knew the type of person Idah was, but he did not care because Idah always settled him anytime he came around.
Idah having all his memories from when he was still alive brought out a silver coin from his pouch which was about 10 bronze coins.
The guard seeing the silver coin had a wide smile and he spoke eagerly. "It is always a pleasure doing business with you sir."
After Idah handed over the coin. The guard allowed them to enter the town.
Tim was not too surprised by the transaction that just happened. Corruption was everywhere no matter the dimension or world, so seeing a guard take a bribe in another world did not really ring any bell for Tim.
’First take me to a place where I can get a decent meal. I need to get a taste of something nice in this damn world." Tim said as they strode in the town.
Entering the town, Tim’s eyes widened. The town was definitely bigger than he expected. From the gate of the town, it looked like a small town with little occupants, but apparently that was not true.
What he was seeing right now was a very big town like those that he usually read in his fantasy novels.
’They definitely used a spell to make it look smaller than its actual size. The person that could cast this spell has to be a really powerful being.
I should not stand out or draw unnecessary attention to myself.’ Tim thought as he walked in the town.
If he did not want to accept reality before, now he had to accept the fact that he was not in his usual world anymore.
The town was booming with activities, right from his entrance into the town he could see different people performing different tasks.
One of the town guards was assaulting a drunk couple on the side.
Another scene was a knife fight between 2 street thugs that could apparently use magic, it was a thing that he would have stayed to watch but he just had a mind-blowing battle a couple of hours back so little fights like that mattered little to him.
Idah led the way and directed him to the nearest place to get food that he could remember.
Tim looking at the shabby looking pub, sighed and entered. He was hungry but he was not really feeling hungry. Maybe it was a mental thing. He couldn’t tell but he just decided to eat.
Sitting at a nearby table, Tim looked around. He noticed something.
He noticed that people were staring at him. Ever since he walked into the town, he had been having stares from different people.
He figured that it must be because of his hair color coupled with the fact that he was an elf.
It was a common knowledge that elves with white hair were a unique and special breed, they were a royal breed. Yet one of the supposed royal breeds just walked into a their town without a well structured escort. It was unusual.
’Do I have to do something about this hair color. I mean I can’t just be getting unnecessary attention everywhere I go. Or should I cut It? No! That is just a stupid idea to have.’ Tim thought, as he tried to figure out a solution to his predicament.
"What do you think about my look." Tim asked Idah. As of now, Tim was wearing a leather trouser and an armored vest with a coat that covered all but his head.
This were part of the items that Tim found when he was going through the loads of the previous gang.
"You look like you. My king." Idah responded in a serious tone.
’Am I talking to a robot? What sort of response is that.’ Tim thought.
"Does my look really stand out in a town like this?" Tim asked, rephrasing his question.
"Yes, my king. You are an elf of royal blood. Anywhere you go, you will be treated differently as compared to the regular elves that walk the plain of this world." Idah replied immediately.
’Hmm. I see. I bet that those looking at me have no idea that I was banished. Should I dye my hair? That way I would receive far less attention than I am receiving right now.
I should probably do something about my hair.’
"Idah, after we are done with our meal take me to where I can change the color of my hair. I don’t like being stared at." Tim Instructed.
"Yes, king." Idah said, as he made a hand signal which alerted one of the pub’s attendees to come and take their request.
"Yes gentlemen. What would you like to order." A petite, cute and busty lady came over and asked.
Idah looked at Tim waiting to hear his response, but Tim himself was a bit stunned. One word rang in his mind.’ Cute!’
Honestly speaking, Tim was distracted by what he was seeing. Back on earth, he was sort of a nerd, and he did not have a lot of relationships with women. But that did not stop him from admiring them.
