My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World -
Chapter 332: The Lotus Royal Family
Chapter 332: The Lotus Royal Family
After we woke up the next day inside the pink castle of Lotus, we were invited to have breakfast with Keiko before our meeting with the royal family.
The only reason we had to talk to Keiko’s family was because Melina was also a princess from another country, and I was her professor, so we were technically counted as the guests of the royal family.
However, we also needed to ask them about the relic we were looking for. In Guanghua, the existence of the relic was somewhat of a myth that they passed down in the royal family.
Renjun knew about the relic, but only as a tale, so I was expecting the royal family of Lotus to have similar knowledge.
An hour after breakfast, we were guided to the throne room, where the king and queen sat on their thrones while the first prince stood beside them.
"Honored guests, welcome to the nation of Lotus..." said a servant as he bowed while we entered the room.
"Hey, Ichi..." Melina whispered.
"What’s up?"
"I’m letting you know right now. I don’t care about these royal meetings enough for me to allow any disrespect towards us or our friends..." she muttered.
After Melina regained her memories from our past life, she lost all interest in noble traditions and culture, which I shared with her.
Honestly, the only reason I put up with nobles at first was so that I could be close to her, and while I had met a good amount of royals and nobles who were pretty cool people, I still wasn’t the least bit interested in being one of them.
"Alright then, let’s talk business with these people and be on our way..." I replied as we stopped in front of the royal family.
The king was a tall and burly man with black hair and a mustache, with a few scars on his face and a missing arm that reflected his experience in battle. His name was Daisuke Lotus, and he was known as the "One-Armed Warrior King."
The queen was pretty tall, too, and she wore an elegant kimono with bright colors that contrasted with her black hair. Her name was Hana Lotus, and she was the mother of the first prince.
Minato, who was standing next to his mother, was a tall, 25-year-old who was staring at us with disdain the moment we entered the throne room.
Keiko went up the stairs and stood next to her father, introducing each person in our group to the king and signaling the start of our meeting.
"Alright, we don’t have much time, so how about we get to the chase..." I said, starting the conversation.
"We are looking for an ancient relic that was supposedly hidden in this country. Any idea of what we are talking about?" I asked, shocking the royal family.
I didn’t know if they were shocked at how casually I was speaking to them or if they were just surprised that I knew about the relic.
"Preposterous!" exclaimed the prince, but he shut his mouth when the king raised his hand with a closed fist.
"I don’t dislike a guy who doesn’t beat around the bush," commented the king.
"How do you know about the relic?" he asked, shocking the queen and the prince as they didn’t expect him to continue our conversation.
"Before I tell you that, can I trust you, sir?" I replied with a question, shocking the couple of guards inside the room.
Everyone was silent for a moment, but Melina and I kept our chin up while waiting for an answer.
*pfft* "Ahahaha!" the king laughed loudly.
"So, this is the man who taught Keiko how to control her magic, huh?" he continued with a smile on his face, which I certainly didn’t expect to see coming from a rugged man like him.
"Well, yeah. I had to teach at the academy for one year, and Keiko has a lot of potential, so... *ahem* anyways, about the relic..." I replied, but the king was standing up from his throne and coming down the stairs.
"Why are you looking for it?" he asked as he stood before us, making me look up as he was way taller than me.
"We need it for a weapon. If we are lucky, we won’t have to use it, but if we need it and don’t have it..." I said, allowing the king to fill up the blanks.
"Hmm, I understand..." he said, turning around and telling everyone to leave the room, including the queen and the prince.
"Wait, father! Shouldn’t I be present for this!?" he exclaimed, his eyes widened with perplexion.
"This doesn’t concern you, so no. Leave us!" the king replied to his son with a sharp gaze that intimidated the prince.
After the guards left the room, the family followed behind.
"Keiko, you can stay. These are your guests, after all," said the king as Keiko passed by, making Prince Minato even angrier.
Once our group was left in the room with the king and Keiko alone, he asked me if he could inspect my information.
"You see, I’m only supposed to talk about the relic with someone who is a child of the gods. That’s what was passed down to me, so I must follow those instructions..." said the king.
"Alright then..." I replied, uncensoring my information and allowing him to take a look.

The king widened his eyes with surprise, saying that he had never seen such an impressive amount of MP on someone so young, and asked to peek at Melina’s.
<Name: Melina Sephyr

Both the king and Keiko had perplexed expressions after seeing our information, but their reaction was to laugh it off as the king said he didn’t expect to be the one handing down the location of the relic.
"Very well, Ichiro, Melina. Let’s talk about your business," said the king with confidence.
