Chapter 325: The Thundering Spear

After Melina awakened and began dominating her encounter with Vyrazul, Ichiro had to make a strategic retreat to Yuandu to protect it from Drakzen.

Ichiro knew that Drakzen was targeting his companion Vespera at first, and luckily, he was able to get there in time before the devil could finish his plan.

While Ichiro took care of the problem in Yuandu, Melina and Yoru stayed in the palace fighting their respective opponents.

During Yoru’s encounter, Minotaur made fun of him for working under Garon, the God of Beasts, saying that an Accursed Beast only had to work for themselves.

However, Yoru had learned from Ichiro how to hurt others with words.

"So, you prefer to work under a devil? That doesn’t sound much better to me..." the moonwolf replied.

Minotaur, being a simple beast, was easily taunted by Yoru’s words, even when he said them without much passion or interest.

Their attacks were so explosive that any time they got close to a structure, the walls would crumble down in the wake of their attacks.

Yoru’s moon magic wasn’t optimized since it wasn’t a full-moon night, but he was still able to use it in a weaker state. Besides, he had learned lots of different magic spells from Ichiro, so he had more under his arsenal.

Minotaur spent most of his demonic energy on improving his physical attributes even further, which made him even tougher to damage. Nonetheless, Yoru knew that also meant that Minotaur wasn’t adept at casting spells from a distance.

The most he would cast was earth magic to try and trap Yoru, but the wolf was too quick to fall for a simple spell like that. Even so, Minotaur used his earth magic to distract him while catching up with him and hitting Yoru in the torso with a powerful punch.

Yoru crashed against a wall and coughed blood before getting kicked on the chin, launching him up about ten meters in the air.

While suspended, Minotaur jumped up and caught up with him, clasping both of his palms and punching Yoru in the gut, sending him straight down and destroying another room of the palace.

Yoru was full of cuts and bruises, feeling like one or two of his ribs had also been broken by the attacks he received. Still, he managed to dodge Minotaur before he landed on his head by weaving inside the shadows.

Minotaur stood still for a moment, not knowing where Yoru had gone, when the wolf appeared from his shadow behind him and placed his palm against the Accursed Beast’s back.

"Disappear!" Yoru exclaimed with his own voice for the first time, casting a spell that he had seen Ichiro using before against Drakzen.

The time that Ichiro used it, Drakzen was able to avoid getting hit by it.

However, Minotaur wasn’t as smart or quick as the devil, so he took a direct hit on his back that pushed him forcefully through the walls of the palace into a courtyard.

In that courtyard, Vyrazul and Melina were exchanging blows that were just as destructive as Yoru and Minotaur’s.

Melina was dominating the fight. Even though she had received a few strikes from the devil, she looked just as determined as when the battle had started.

Vyrazul, who was forced into her true form, was done being coy with her and had an expression filled with rage that turned the ground around her completely black as if a shadow was cast above the courtyard.

At that moment, Melina’s MP rose even more, and the electric sword in her hand started to change shape along with the environment around her.

Melina blinked and found herself in an empty space, similar to the one where she talked to Asys, the God of Magic, for the first time.

"You’ve done it, my dear sister-in-law..." the voice of Asys echoed in the room before he materialized in front of her.

"You awakened. But more than that, you summoned the respective weapon from the armory..." the god continued.

Melina knew about the weapons from Phelena’s Armory since Ichiro had told her about them, but she was so engrossed in her fight that she wasn’t paying much attention to the spells she was casting.

"That’s the Thundering Spear. It’s quite draining to use, so make sure you finish the fight with it," Asys explained.

Melina didn’t reply with words and simply nodded confidently at the god, who gave her a smile in return and snapped his fingers, returning her to reality.

When Melina looked at her hand, she was holding the Thundering Spear, which produced an electric pressure around it that made the air look somewhat fuzzy while also making the ground slightly shake.

On the opposite side, Yoru had finished casting a powerful gravity spell that made Minotaur unable to move a muscle before getting executed by Yoru’s claws, slicing its head off.

The Accursed Beast was defeated right after receiving the powerful blast on his back, but Yoru’s mission was to end their lives, so his fight wasn’t over until the beast was dead.

Vyrazul’s shadows were covering most of the courtyard’s ground, and when its expansion reached Melina, she gently hovered in the air and lifted her spear, generating a vortex of black, thundering clouds above them.

Remembering the words that Asys said to her, Melina was determined to end Vyrazul’s life with her next attack.

While they both charged their final offensive, Drakzen showed up atop a roof that overlooked the courtyard, with Vyrazul and Melina to the left and Yoru with Minotaur’s corpse to the right.

Ichiro was following right behind him, and thinking that he would try to protect Vyrazul, he made his way to the left.

Nonetheless, Drakzen fooled them and turned mid-way to the right, shocking Ichiro as he was already in a position to protect Melina.

As Melina crashed down on top of Vyrazul, creating a thunder that burnt over half of the massive courtyard, Drakzen rushed towards Yoru and kicked him on the torso, sending him flying straight to a wall that crumbled on top of him.
