Chapter 203: Sage Headmaster Devon

At the Sephyr’s Kingdom academy, Headmaster Devon was working on some paperwork in his office when he felt a sudden chill running down his spine.

With haste, the old sage stood up from his desk and walked towards the window.

His office was located at one of the highest towers in the academy, and he had a 360-degree view of the capital and its surroundings.

Focusing his sight on a strange dot in the distance that was getting closer every second, the man squinted and noticed it was a flying carriage that was traveling at full speed.

Calmly, Devon raised his hand and chanted. "Home Dimension," entering into his own pocket dimension where he could move freely without any restrictions.

Thanks to his powerful spell, the old sage was able to take a step from his office and appear inside the flying carriage.

The four students couldn’t see the man standing with them inside the cart, as Devon was still inside his pocket dimension, observing the teenagers using magic to propel the cart desperately.

"We gotta move faster!" Florencia exclaimed as she exhausted a massive gust of wind that sped up the cart.

"W-What was that thing anyways!?" Gunther asked nervously, using his low-level magic to help propel the cart.

Keiko, the most distressed out of all the students, was sweating and breathing heavily as she used all of her magic to propel the cart.

"A devil..." the blue-haired girl muttered, her voice laced with fear.

At that moment, the old sage realized the gravity of the situation and dispelled his "home dimension," showing himself to the students inside the cart.

"A devil, you say?" Devon said, startling all of the students in the cart.

However, as soon as they discovered who it was that stood before them, they quickly implored the old sage to help Ichiro, who had sent them to the academy to warn the headmaster of the situation.

Devon tried keeping his calm demeanor so the students would calm down. However, his mind said differently, as the old sage was feeling angry at the fact that a filthy devil had targeted his academy.

Switching his soft and gentle gaze into a sharp and vicious one, Devon cast "home dimension" and brought the cart to the entrance of the academy in one second.

"I’ll go support Professor Ichiro. All of you wait here..." The headmaster said to the four students, who were perplexed at the fact they had made it to the academy.

Devon, using his signature spell to leave the scene quickly, left the four students to discuss the events with each other.

"Keiko, are you sure that was a devil?" Florencia asked.

The blue-haired girl was still visibly shaken by the encounter. However, she could recognize that awful aura anywhere as the devils she had encountered in the past gave her the same uneasiness.

"W-why would a devil just suddenly appear here!?" Gunther exclaimed, not wanting to believe what he had seen with his own face.

"I could barely move when that thing appeared..." Florencia commented.

Enzo, who was the quietest of the bunch, stayed silent in shock as he wondered aloud if Ichiro would be okay alone with the monster.

"H-He already killed one, right!? Of course, he will be fine!" said Florencia with doubt in her voice, trying to comfort Enzo, who was her twin’s subordinate.

Simply remembering the feeling of the demonic energy that Drakzen extruded was enough to make the students shiver.

Keiko clenched her fist with frustration, stating her disappointment in the fact that they couldn’t do a single thing to help their professor.

Simultaneously, they all remembered how Ichiro acted quickly and sent the students to safety.

"If we were stronger, he wouldn’t have had to face that thing alone..." Keiko muttered with sadness, making everyone look down with dejection.

Headmaster Devon, using his "home dimension" spell, moved quickly throughout the different paths where the students were.

Taking one step inside his dimension, the old sage traveled from one path to another where the eight teams had been fighting werewolves.

Fortunately, none of the students were harmed, and all of the S-ranked monsters were taken care of.

A group of students told the headmaster that a "random wolf" had appeared and saved them from the werewolf.

However, Devon was familiar with Ichiro’s companions and praised him in his head for his foresight in sending them to guard the other teams.

Another team commented on the beautiful black-haired woman who arrived and killed the werewolf in an instant, but then again, Devon knew who they were talking about.

After the old sage had picked up all of the students and taken them to the entrance of the academy, he took a step inside his home dimension and arrived at the place where Ichiro was facing the devil.

However, the old sage was up for a surprise when he saw both Ichiro and Melina fighting against the monster.

’I see. The devil must have been targeting him...’ Devon thought, still invisible to the others as he was inside his spell.

Seeing Drakzen push the two sages back and launch himself for an attack on Ichiro, the old sage stood in front of him and snapped his fingers to dispel his home dimension.

In the blink of an eye, Devon materialized before Ichiro and cast a barrier spell that blocked the devil’s offensive, electrocuting him momentarily before blasting him away.

"Headmaster!?" Ichiro exclaimed, seeing the back of the old man that protected him from the devil’s attack.

"Quite the mess you got here, Professor Ichiro!" the old sage exclaimed.

"Heh, can’t disagree with you there..." Ichiro replied, wiping the blood off his chin.

With her sword in hand, Melina joined the two sages, and the three of them faced Drakzen in the middle of the dirt road.

The devil chuckled uncontrollably after seeing his three opponents with determined expressions.

"Three sages!? Is this my lucky day or something!?" Drakzen shouted with arrogance in his tone.

"Don’t give him a second to breathe..." Ichiro muttered to the other two sages, who clenched their weapons tighter in response.
