MY Masochistic CEO
Chapter 27 The VP

Chapter 27: Chapter 27 The VP

Instantly, Melody moved away from my thigh, and a wave of numbness washed over my leg; I collapsed onto the floor.

Maintaining the same position for so long had taken its toll.

Seeing me on the floor, Melody gasped. "What’s wrong with you?"

"Melody, my legs are numb!"

I managed a smile. "Don’t worry. I’ll be fine in a moment!"

Her face was flushed, her eyes glazed, but her expression was conflicted, as if she was debating whether to help me up.

In moments like these, it was best to remain silent. Whether male or female, everyone possessed a protective instinct!

I wanted her to feel indebted to me; only with a sense of debt could I proceed with my plan.

Once the numbness subsided, I stood up and called out. "What’s taking so long?"

"Just a bit more time, it’ll be ready soon!" I didn’t rush them.

I also subtly distanced myself from Melody. She frowned slightly, then relaxed. "Remember, I don’t want anyone else to know about what happened, understand?"

"Mm, it’s our secret!"

I grinned, intentionally using the word ’secret.’

This would help bridge the gap between us. From now on, whenever Melody took the elevator, she would be reminded of our shared experience, gradually deepening the impression in her heart.

If you threw a frog into boiling water, it would struggle to escape. But what if you started with lukewarm water?

By the time the water boiled, it would be too late for the frog.

To win over Melody, I had to employ the same strategy, slowly altering and reversing the image she had of me.

Her face flushed. "What secret, don’t talk nonsense."

I just smiled and said nothing.

A few minutes later, the elevator door creaked open, but it was suspended awkwardly in mid-air, over a meter from the ground.

Melody, dressed in her professional attire and high heels, would find it challenging to descend.

I quickly stepped forward and suggested, "Melody, let me go down first to catch you!"

"Mm."

Melody nodded, reverting to her usual composed demeanor.

I jumped down and then removed my work jacket, offering it to her.

She seemed taken aback at first, but quickly grasped my intention.

Accepting my jacket, she used it to cover her thighs, much to the disappointment of the nearby elevator technician.

"Melody, you should take off your high heels. It will be easier to get down that way." Melody gave a nod of assent, gracefully slipping off her high heels to reveal her fair feet. Even encased in the sheer material of her flesh-toned stockings, the pink hue of her painted toes was evident.

As I cradled her feet in my hands, a ripple of emotion coursed through me. The silky, delicate texture of her skin quickened my breath, but this was not the moment for such feelings. My left hand gently held her feet, my well-defined muscles straining as I grasped her arm with my right, ensuring she landed steadily on the ground.

In an effort to keep her feet pristine, I offered my jacket as a makeshift mat on the floor. In the world of acting, even the smallest details must be convincing.

"Mm!" Melody voiced her approval, slipping her shoes back on. I retrieved my jacket from the floor.

"We should get going. We don’t want to keep the vice president waiting," she said, her tone noticeably softer than before.

As I followed her, the warmth of her feet lingered in my left hand, a gentle reminder of our recent interaction.

"Put on your jacket and straighten your tie!" Melody instructed.

With a nod, I adjusted my attire before rapping on the door.

"Come in!" A voice, clear yet authoritative, echoed from within.

Stepping into the room, I was immediately struck by the opulence of the decor. Was this really the vice president’s office? It was my first time being here.

The plush Persian carpet, the polished rosewood furniture, the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of Sevan’s cityscape.

Behind the desk sat a woman of breathtaking beauty. Skylight Group’s vice president, Tatiana Camille. In my year-long tenure at Skylight Group, I had only ever seen her from afar at the annual meeting.

The first time I laid eyes on her, I was captivated. Her beauty rivaled that of Jessica, the kind that lingers in your memory after just one glance.

However, company gossip suggested that she had climbed the corporate ladder not through merit, but as a mistress to the chairman of Skylight, a liaison that had propelled her to the position of vice president.

At the time, I felt a pang of disappointment. Such a beautiful woman, why would she choose to be a mistress? But my perspective has since shifted. Regardless of the veracity of the rumors, even if she did ascend the ranks through such means, it was her strategy, her asset.

At the end of the day, she was living a life of luxury, rubbing shoulders with high society, and cruising in opulent cars. Those who sneered behind her back were merely envious.

"Miss Camille, I apologize for our tardiness. We were trapped in the elevator and have only just managed to escape. Thank you for your patience," Melody explained.

"Mm." Tatiana nodded, her bright eyes flicking over us.

Her eyes, slightly upturned at the corners, gave her a vivacious appearance. Coupled with the arch of her eyebrows, she was truly mesmerizing.

I had only ever seen her from a distance, but up close, her beauty was even more striking. She was stunning from every angle. If I were the chairman, I too would be tempted to make her my mistress!

"So, you’re William?" she asked.

"Yes, Miss Camille!" I replied, nodding eagerly.

"You’ve done quite well for yourself, securing the largest deal in the history of the marketing department and setting a new record."

A record? What record?

Melody chimed in, "Skylight has been in operation for five years, and the largest single deal was one that Miss Camille secured three years ago, worth five million dollars!"

Three years ago? Five million dollars? This woman was truly formidable!

I quickly said, "Then Miss Camille is the impressive one. Given the severity of inflation, five million dollars from three years ago is worth far more than six million today!"
