"I doubt anyone will hear us," she worried.
Her body trembled more violently. "Melody, are you alright? Is your back causing you discomfort again?" I asked, concerned.
She remained silent, refusing to show any signs of weakness in front of me.
We sat in silence, the only sound in the elevator was our labored breathing. Melody’s breaths grew more rapid, and the elevator seemed to grow hotter.
"Melody, do you suffer from claustrophobia?" I asked, breaking the silence.
I expected her to remain silent, but she finally responded, "How... how did you know?" Her voice was shaky.
Of course, I knew because she had told me. But I decided to play along.
"I guessed," I said casually. "If it was just your back pain, you wouldn’t be trembling so violently. Plus, you started shaking the moment the elevator went dark. If it was just the darkness, you wouldn’t be this scared, especially with me by your side."
"So, I concluded it must be claustrophobia. The trembling, rapid breathing, sweaty palms - these are all classic symptoms."
She didn’t respond, and I continued, "I know a way to alleviate your anxiety and make you feel less uncomfortable."
"Quick, what is it?" she asked, her voice filled with desperation. Her grip on my hand tightened, as if she were a drowning woman and I her only lifeline.
"Distract yourself!" I urged.
"I’ve tried, it doesn’t work. I can’t focus at all right now," she confessed, agitation seeping into her tone. Her nails, sharp and unyielding, threatened to pierce the back of my hand.
"Try not to panic. I’m here for you," I reassured her. "You mentioned your back was causing discomfort, right? Let me apply some pressure, it can greatly alleviate the tension."
"Really?" she asked, her voice laced with uncertainty.
"Really," I affirmed. She was a woman of conservative nature, and to coax her into agreement, I needed to fan the flames of trust. "Don’t overthink it, and don’t see me as your subordinate. Consider me a friend, and you won’t be so apprehensive. It’s normal for friends to help each other out."
"Furthermore, you can trust that I have no ulterior motives. I just can’t bear to see you in pain. In fact, I admire you greatly. Your meticulousness in your work is something few can achieve."
"Okay... okay!" she finally conceded, as if making a monumental decision. "What should I do?"
A thrill coursed through me. "Just follow my lead. Start by taking a deep breath, try to calm your emotions."
"Does that really work?"
"Trust me, okay?" I whispered, my tone gentle and soothing.
"Okay!" she agreed, beginning to follow my instructions.
I leaned back against the wall, bending my knees slightly in preparation. I took her hand, guiding her to sit on my lap.
"The floor is dirty, so please bear with it and sit on my lap for now," I suggested.
As she settled onto my lap, I felt an immediate reaction. The fire that had been suppressed earlier was now reignited, burning with an intensity that surpassed its previous fervor. I fought the urge to reach out, knowing that any inappropriate action now would render all my efforts futile.
"Are you... ready? I’m going to start!" My words carried an implicit meaning, sounding almost as if I were preparing for an intimate encounter.
"Mm!" She responded with a soft sound, akin to a moan.
The fragrance wafting from Melody’s body was intoxicating. I recognized the scent: Chanel’s ’Noble Heiress’, a perfume worth a month of my salary. Expensive, yes, but undeniably captivating.
I extended my hands, encircling her slender waist. It was even more delicate than it appeared in videos.
"Is it here?" I asked, my hands exploring her waist.
"No!"
"Then here?"
"Also no!"
I moved downwards, quickly reaching the spot near the small of her back. The small of the back, so named for the two small indentations on either side of the tailbone.
"Is it here?" I pressed lightly.
"Ah... it hurts..." Melody’s body jerked, and she cried out in pain. She had mentioned a back injury, but I had underestimated its severity.
I quickly embraced her to prevent her from sliding down. Then, I brought my legs together, lifting her slightly, almost reaching the spot.
A surge of delight washed over me. "Sit tight, I’m going to start pressing now!"
She remained silent, and I began to apply pressure with my hands. At first, she bore it, but as I increased the strength, she couldn’t hold back any longer, and cries of pain escaped her lips. "Ah, oh..."
"It’s okay, don’t suppress it. Shouting can also relieve stress, making your mood more relaxed." I comforted her.
I wasn’t lying with these words; otherwise, why would so many people run to the top of a mountain to shout loudly?
After hearing what I said, her cries indeed grew louder. The sound was simply incredible. A thought struck me, a fleeting fantasy. If I could ever win her affection, I would make a point to capture her voice. It was a melody that could set a man’s heart aflame.
Her attire, a professional ensemble of a skirt and trousers, was made of a slick material. As I attempted to assist her, she kept slipping from my grasp, which was exasperating. "You need to help yourself up," I grumbled, "I can’t do this alone."
She remained silent, but after each slide, she would make an effort to ascend. This continuous cycle was testing my patience.
Especially when she moved upwards, I would lend a hand, almost reaching our shared goal.
Over time, I noticed a shift in her voice, from cries of pain to sounds of pleasure!
My heart pounded in my chest, and my hands began to wander, kneading as I asked, "Does your back feel any better?"
"Mm!"
She remained silent.
The temperature in the confined space of the elevator began to rise, and my throat felt increasingly dry.
My rationality was on the brink of being lost when suddenly, a voice echoed from outside. "Is anyone in there?"
The unexpected interruption shattered the charged atmosphere. Melody froze, and I hastily withdrew my hand, "Yes, we’re in here, please help us!"
In such a situation, I couldn’t let her speak. I needed to maintain a positive image in her mind.
"Stay put, I’m activating the backup power."
After a brief pause, the lights in the elevator flickered back to life, the sudden brightness momentarily blinding me.
