The whole day had exhausted Ruby. By the time dinner was over, sleep was already pulling at her eyes, but she didn’t waste a single bite, finishing her meal properly.

"And here I thought you stopped calling her ’stupid.’ You and I both know she’s a smart wife."

Karl yawned loudly, not in the mood to argue. "Whatever you think..." he muttered, his eyelids already drooping.

Sleep quickly overtook him, but before he fully dozed off, a small thought slipped into his mind.

Still panting, he turned to his bed, only to find Milo sitting up, wide awake, staring at him.

"What happened, Brother Adi?" Milo asked, his big brown eyes blinking with concern.

Adrian, still in shock, stumbled onto the bed and sat beside him.

"Do you... do you know what happened between Ruby and Julian...?" he asked, his voice almost a whisper.

Milo frowned slightly, his eyes watery with sleep. "What’s wrong?" he asked again, rubbing his eyes.

Adrian didn’t answer immediately. How was he supposed to tell Milo this?!
