My five ghostly husbands -
Chapter 163 Why?
Chapter 163: Chapter 163 Why?
Milo, now fully awake and curious. "What happened, Brother Adi?" he pressed.
Adrian stared at him. He hesitated, his throat dry.
"Do... do you know...?" he trailed off, uncertain.
Milo was too innocent.
If he told him, he was afraid he would taint him for life.
However, Milo became even more curious, scooting closer to Adrian. "Tell me, Brother Adi," he pressed, his brown eyes wide with anticipation.
Adrian sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. He hesitated for a moment, but then finally muttered under his breath, "Julian and Ruby... actually consummated..."
He said it slowly, almost like he couldn’t believe it himself.
Milo’s eyes widened in pure shock. "How is that possible...?" he whispered.
Wife didn’t even sleep with him!
He knew because Ruby never shared a bed with any of them. She always slept alone. And yet... she had slept with Julian?
Milo’s mind raced back to the times he had seen Julian in the early mornings, near Ruby’s room.
Could it be...?!
But no! He had always assumed Julian must have just woken up early to get Wife’s clothes to wash!
His chest tightened.
"Julian hid it from us..." Milo whispered, feeling sad. He lowered his head, his small fingers gripping the blanket.
Adrian, still in disbelief himself, nodded. "I know... I can’t believe it either."
The room fell into silence, both of them trying to process what they had just discovered.
🪄🪄
Julian had just climbed onto the bed, about to adjust the blanket for her, when she suddenly yanked him toward her tightly.
"Wife, what are you doing...?!" he shouted, his eyes wide with disbelief.
But Ruby didn’t answer, she only pulled him in even more, wrapping her arms around him like a vice. And worse she rolled over, dragging him underneath her!
Julian felt his breath leave his body as her full weight pressed down on him.
"Please, wife, don’t—don’t... it hurts!" he cried out, wiggling like a trapped fish.
Finally, after much struggling, he managed to pop his head out from her tight grip, sucking in air like he had just been drowning.
But just as he thought he could escape—she hugged him even tighter.
And to make things even worse, she pushed his head against her chest.
His entire face burned.
He was so embarrassed!!!
But... as he lay there, trapped against her, feeling the soft warmth of her body—
He suddenly realized.
His wife’s chest... was so soft.
...He liked his new pillow.
🪄🪄
The next morning, Adrian and Milo woke up early, standing at a distance, staring at Ruby’s door.
Both of them had heavy eye bags under their eyes, a clear sign of their restless night. Neither had slept properly, their minds filled with yesterday’s shocking discovery.
Milo rubbed his tired eyes and glanced at Adrian. "I’m happy you’re home, Brother Adi! Now we can both confirm what you said yesterday."
His eyes remained locked on the door, waiting for it to finally open. The door had been locked from the inside all night.
Adrian simply hummed. "Hmm."
Today was Gloomday, which meant he had the day off from work. Tomorrow was Hollowday, another free day, giving him plenty of time to uncover the truth.
In this world, the days of the week were,
Moon day (Monday)
Dus day (Tuesday)
Wisp day (Wednesday)
Shadeday (Thursday)
Veilday (Friday)
Gloomday (Saturday)
Hollowday (Sunday)
And now, on this Gloom day morning, two brothers stood side by side, waiting— their hearts pounding in suspense.
Would Ruby’s door open? Would they finally confirm the truth?
They held their breath.
And sure enough, the door opened from the inside, and Julian stepped out.
His blue hair was a complete mess, his face flushed red, and he looked tired.
As soon as he walked toward them, Adrian and Milo quickly pretended to be deep in conversation.
"Yes, yes, Brother Adi," Milo said, nodding dramatically.
Adrian, catching on, pretended to nod seriously. "Alright."
Then, as if just noticing Julian, Milo turned toward him with fake surprise.
"Oh, Julian! Did you just come out of Wife’s room? What were you doing in there?"
Julian blinked, startled, his tired brain struggling to come up with an answer. But then, memories of last night flooded his mind—
His wife pulling him into bed.
His wife holding him tightly.
His wife making him sleep on her chest.
His face turned even redder.
"N-Nothing! I—I’m going to make breakfast!" Julian stammered, his voice unusually high-pitched.
Without another word, he spun around and ran to the washroom, escaping as fast as he could.
Adrian and Milo looked at each other.
There was no doubt now.
When Ruby stepped out of her room, she felt completely refreshed. A good sleep had done wonders, and her face was glowing.
However, something felt off.
As she walked into the common area, she noticed Adrian and Milo stealing glances at her— their expressions strange. Too strange.
At first, she ignored it, but when it kept happening, she finally raised a brow at them.
Both of their eyes widened in panic, realizing they had been caught.
They immediately shook their heads aggressively. Nope! Nothing! They totally weren’t acting weird!
Ruby narrowed her eyes, but before she could say anything, Julian walked in carrying breakfast for everyone.
Karl finally joined them, stretching lazily. But as soon as he looked around the room, he could sense something strange.
Julian was blushing, looking ridiculously shy.
Milo and Adrian were looking between Julian and Ruby with weird expressions.
And Ruby... looked confused.
Okay. What the hell was going on?
Karl, completely clueless, stared at them, his brain failing to keep up.
He felt so lost.
Had something happened while he was asleep?
His chest suddenly ached.
He hadn’t cried in days.
But now, thinking about how out of the loop he was, he suddenly felt like crying.
His baby blue eyes became glassy, but he held back his tears.
Instead, he silently ate his breakfast, looking at everyone sadly.
Ruby, meanwhile, finally picked up on the weird energy in the room.
Karl looked heartbroken like he was about to cry. Why?
Julian kept sneaking glances at her, his face turning red. Why?
Milo was throwing her suspicious looks. Why?
And Adrian, who usually didn’t even give her much attention, was suddenly looking at her with a very strange expression.
What... the hell was going on?
