Chapter 181: Safe

After coming back, Felix placed Asher back on the bed, letting him rest. They would just have to wait till Asher wakes up as Lucas said they should not force him to wake up as he was unconscious but not in a dangerous way.

"If he has to go through this much pain during just the pregnancy, how would it be when he gives birth?"

Felix, his voice shaky, asked Lucas who paused and sighed.

"The birth won’t be this hard. This is hard because he still has around five more months to endure this discomfort and everything he gets... It will end soon. During this time, you have to be his emotional support. Don’t let him get discouraged or scared. But for that, you need to be positive too. So...wish for the best, for Asher and everyone."

"...Mm..."

"I will stay in your office and sort out the pills for Asher. You stay here with him till he wakes up."

Lucas said and left after Felix nodded.

After the door was closed, Felix looked at Asher sleeping and left a big sigh.

’How could I not be scared? I...am responsible for both the lives here."

Felix thought and gently caressed Asher’s face, then laid down next to Asher, pulling him into a gentle embrace.

Somehow maybe due to the stress, Felix felt sleepy and despite resisting the urge to stay awake, his eyes just closed by themselves, putting him into a comfortable sleep.

So, when Asher woke up feeling quite stuffy, the first thing he saw was the beautiful face he liked to kiss so much.

Asher left a sigh, slowly gathering his thoughts to recall what happened.

’Right...I passed out...But why is he sleeping here?

Asher stared at the sleeping face and sighed, then caressing the sleeping man’s cheek.

’I was so worried.’

Asher sweat as he recalled the moment of pain. It still feels scary even though he can’t feel that pain anymore.

Asher got up without disturbing Felix which was a surprise as he thought Felix would definitely wake up when he was moving away his arms that were wrapped around him.

Somehow, Felix was in deep sleep.

Asher stood up, raised his shirt and stared at his stomach that was just as before.

’What was that before? It was not a dream, right?’

Asher was quite confused about what happened because Felix alwas sound asleep there next to him.

’It’s daytime. Not nighttime. Times add up. I passed out in the morning and it seemed like it had not been that long since then. But why is Felix sleeping here? That also...in the daytime?’

Waking up Felix was the last thing Asher wanted to do because he didn’t want to disturb him, a man that works even when he is tired. But he was way too curious, impatient, confused and also too worried due to those events to wait, so he gently tapped on Felix’s shoulder, waking him up eventually.

"Ah! You are awake!"

Felix hurried and got up, then watched Asher as he wiped his sleepy eyes.

"What happened?"

Asher asked and Felix held Asher’s hand.

"When I came to the room, I saw you had passed out."

Felix said and Asher’s heart thumped as he realised it was all real.

"When you were unconscious, we brought you to the witch."

"...We?"

"Ah, Lucas was here to meet us when I saw you on the ground. He suggested we take you to the witch right then."

"...I see. So, what did she say?"

"It’s nothing to be scared of... She said omegas start feeling the pregnancy a little later than women. She said it seemed like you have started to feel the real pregnancy."

"...Nothing was wrong with me, right?"

"Yeah, you are okay."

Felix said but his mind repeated what the witch said at that time.

’Yeah, there is nothing wrong with you. Other than being pregnant.’

Felix felt disappointed that it came to a point he was feeling anxious every second he thought how he had been the one to turn Asher like this. Maybe...a pregnancy wasn’t needed? Does Asher really not feel scared or hatred for getting pregnant by him?

Actually, Felix also really loved the fact they’re going to have a child. But...given the fact he wasn’t fully prepared for this event, he...now feels unsure of himself.

Is he good enough?

Will he be good enough?

For both Asher and the upcoming child? And also...to anne?

’Haa...Maybe I am overthinking. Asher...wouldn’t think the way I think.’

"I see. It’s good to hear our baby is safe."

Asher said, smiling which made Felix feel even more disappointed in himself but also at Asher a little for not worrying about himself.

"You are safe too."

Felix mumbled and Asher paused, then smiled again.

"Yeah, we are all safe."

Asher said and rubbed Felix’s hair while observing Felix.

"Don’t be upset."

Asher said and Felix sighed, grabbing Asher’s hand and holding it tight in his grasp.

"I am not upset. I am glad you are fine. And...our baby too."

Felix said and sighed continuously in a very exhausted manner.

"So...how long were we at the witch’s place?"

"Not so long. Luca- right...Lucas is waiting for you to wake up. We should talk to him and send him off first in case he has more work."

Felix suddenly realised Lucas must be still waiting.

’How long did I sleep? I can’t even remember. Please don’t be that long. I really didn’t want to let Lucas wait for long.’

Felix felt guilty for falling asleep when his friend could be uncomfortable sitting and waiting for him.

As Asher agreed, Felix rushed out to see Lucas who was indeed still waiting, seemingly in a good mood, not bad at all.

"Had it been a long wait?"

"No...not that long. Is Asher awake?"

"Yeah."

"Then can I meet him now?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. Then let’s go. I should leave soon."

"Ah...Right. follow me."

Felix felt relieved Lucas wasn’t mad. It wasn’t that he was scared. He felt very guilty since Lucas had done him so much help.

"Hello sir Lucas."

Asher greeted Lucas who also nodded his head and smiled.

"I am glad you seem to be doing fine now. So...shall we talk about what happened to you before passing out? I need to know what happened."
