Chapter 182: Chaos

As Asher started to recall the previous scenes, he explained everything to Lucas and Felix who listened with interest but also worry.

"The witch explained that you must be feeling normal pregnancy symptoms. But quite intensely. She said it’s okay for me to treat you like any normal pregnant woman so I sorted out everything here for you."

Lucas handed over a bag with some little bottles that were filled with pills.

"I have written how and when to use them. So you can keep them."

Lucas said and Asher nodded, his eyes on the bottles inside.

"Then, should I stop taking the previous pills you gave me?"

"That one is also in here. You can use the bottle here once the one I gave you before end."

"Okay."

Following a silence from all three parties in the room, Lucas then turned to Felix.

"Felix, you have to be more careful and pay more attention to him. It’s not that you have to observe him all the time. But remember to check on him whenever you can."

Lucas said and Felix nodded. Actually, Lucas would not even have to say it. Because, Felix was already convinced he should be and should have been more attentive toward Asher since now he needs care.

So, ever since that day, Felix basically had his eyes glued onto Asher. It was somehow funny to Asher that Felix always seemed to be looking at him and getting worked up even when he frowned.

Obviously, Asher now isn’t allowed to work. Well, it was not just Felix who set that rule but also Lucas.

Asher was bored but staring back at Felix had been keeping him entertained though.

’He should be looking at me. But he is looking away because he can’t bear to stare at me eye to eye. Silly.’

Asher was always amused by Felix’s shyness so he very often made fun of Felix as he most of the time stayed with Felix, even in the office when he worked.

While Felix wanted to stay close and keep an eye on Asher, Asher also supported him and also followed Felix around.

Maybe he felt anxious to be alone again...

Like that, another two months passed and while Asher had some pretty rough times with stomach pain and back pain, sir Lucas’s pills did a big help in reducing all those discomforts.

However, now Asher has a bump on his stomach.

A little cute bump.

And...more bumps on his arms too...which he hated.

’I guess gaining weight is normal. I remember sir Lucas’s book said so.’

Asher’s face was now quite chubby and he had very obvious changes to his body. His legs were always swollen and walking made him tired easily. Other than that, there was a good thing. Asher gained an insane appetite.

He could eat almost four people’s potions and still be hungry just an hour later. So yeah, he ate a lot. Slept a lot. Cuddled a lot. And, pained a lot too.

But, Asher was happy. He was thriving and despite worrying about his somewhat big body now, he was ready and excited.

And, so was little Anne who would come to visit Asher everyday, talk to her baby sister and plead with her to come soon.

And, Asher and Felix talked to her about their wish too.

A name for the baby...

Little Anne was very excited to hear she got to give her sister a name.

But, to both Asher’s and Felix’s surprise, she ended up spending her time in the library to find the perfect name with a right meaning she wished would be best for her sister.

Her thoughtfulness actually made them gasp and very happy.

She was such a good girl...

She didn’t let her excitement to use this chance of naming her sister. She patiently looked for the best.

Because...

"Everyone deserves the best. So does my sister!"

Safe to say, Felix had been very proud of her since then. Only about that though...

While things were seemingly perfect surrounding Felix, there were still some annoying things..

Miss Lara.

As discussed, amidst all the chaos, Anne’s classes still started.

By that time, the good impression he had of miss Lara was now somehow not very bright due to him now knowing she could be friends with that lady Shein.

It was still unclear if she knew about that lady’s real intentions and how she has a spy planted here.

Somehow before Felix could plan to find out any of this, things escalated, starting from Nala.

The maids and Nala had got into an argument which took a serious turn as Nala stabbed one of the maids with a kitchen knife. The incident obviously didn’t go unnoticed so Felix took that chance to fire Nala, but not before punishing her.

Thankfully, the maid wasn’t seriously harmed and was treated by Lucas.

As Nala was imprisoned for three days and later thrown away without any pay as the part of her punishment, Felix wasn’t surprised she didn’t beg him to spare her job. She didn’t apologise, didn’t show any regret.

’She is not scared to lose her job. She knows her master will feed her.’

Around the same time this happened, Felix got a letter from lady Shein or Ms Pearl, inviting him to a tea time that will be held in the next week. It would have been surprising if he were to not know how lady Shein put a spy here. Since he knew, this felt weird and somewhat suspicious.

Felix politely rejected it and at the end of that rejection letter, he didn’t forget to mention Nala too.

’I hope Nala is happy back with you. I know everything. So stay away.’

He sent it out and ever since, he got no response.

He knew it might not end here but with other things like Asher made him busy to care too much about them.

While all this happened, the only thing Asher was aware of was the part where Nala stabbed a maid and got fired after getting punished. He knew nothing else that Felix had to deal with.

He also didn’t want to know too many details or bother because he was too worried about their future and too excited about the baby.

So, till the end of that chaos, Asher was completely unaware of the things that had happened and was happening.

But...he did wonder why little Anne’s tutor left crying like that.
