"It’s all your fault! Why did you go as far as to replace his memory I erased?!

"Huh! You were just trying to save yourself! Don’t you think it’s unfair that he has to lose his memories because of your mistakes?"

"I know it’s a mistake and that’s why I tried my best to fix it back."

"Fix it back? It can’t be fixed. You messed with his memory. You just don’t care about him at all."

"Shut up! Why don’t we talk about your decision that caused this situation? No one believes him and since even brother Ash also doesn’t know about what he’s talking about, he is convinced he is going crazy!"

"Yeah, he will go crazy. He will go crazy for real when he finds out you went as far as to erase his memory and also Ash’s memory so you can save yourself!"

"It’s all your fault! You can’t blame it on me. Everything was fine, wasn’t it? You just had to be a hero and mess everything up. Look now! It’s all your fault!"

"Okay. Even if I accept it’s my fault, you can now make things back to normal. You can confess to him how you erased his memory and how I replaced it back creating this mess. So he will know he is not crazy."

"...No. I can’t tell him. I know he is going to force me to stop what I am doing. I am doing this to protect him. So I don’t want to hear him say he doesn’t want it."

"You are delusional. You just want to have control over him. That’s why you are so hesitant to confess and listen to him. I am sure he will not hate you for anything."

"No! I won’t confess! I don’t care if he will hate me or not. I want to protect him and I won’t let anyone stop me. Even him."

"...Anne, you are the most selfish person I have ever met. Good luck with your obsession. You’re leading him to death. If something happens to him, remember, I will come after you. I will make sure you suffer more than he does now."

For the last few days, ever since that day, Asher realised the duke has become distant and emotionless. Asher was confused at first and he only understood what was really happening when sir Lucas explained.

The duke...looked lifeless.

He doesn’t even respond to him and just dazes into somewhere, deep in his thoughts. Sir Lucas would come to visit him three times a day out of worry and examine him more. Even using his magic healing powers, he said he sees nothing wrong with the duke..

With that, they could only assume some thingss, till they find another way to figure out what caused him the sleeping problem that time and the headache the duke mentioned. And also...about his wrong memory...

So their assumption was...the problem with the duke’s wrong memory could be an illusion or a hallucination..

Given the incident with his sleep, Lucas’s guess was that Felix might have been trapped in a dream or something like that if it was not a hallucination.

Since...Asher was also sure nothing like Felix said happened, that’s the only conclusion they had. So, everything he saw must be fake. Which they could now call as hallucinations or...a very realistic dream he slept in.

Lucas very clearly knew what Felix was now bothered by with this incident and, what had made him so lifeless since then...

His mother also had first started forgetting things and then...hallucinating, which seemed to be what had happened to him too. He must be shaken by that thought...

It was heartbreaking to see.

Lucas would have given him some sleeping pills to stop him from stressing too much thinking about all the unnecessary things but he couldn’t do it either due to this sleeping problem which made him hesitant. He didn’t want to make things worse.

Lucas was also really stressed by the situation.

He witnessed how both Felix and Asher looked drained day by day. It was...something he never thought he would see. Both of them looked miserable. He felt bad but he didn’t know how to convince Felix he was not going crazy like his mother and he shouldn’t try to distance himself from Asher out of fear of being a burden.

If it was someone else, Lucas would have comforted them by saying he can do something to stop him going crazy if he was so worried. But...he couldn’t do that with Felix becuse Felix was aware no medicine could cure that. Since...he also tried to cure his mother which didn’t work.

Actually, Felix basically watched as his mother became a big mess.

So now he was afraid he would become like that too. He never thought he would go crazy too but now the early symptoms had appeared, he couldn’t convince himself it would be okay.

It won’t be okay.

For anyone.

He knows it.

He was completely hopeless, feeling really disappointed about himself.

"Asher, please take care of yourself."

After visiting Felix and trying his best to talk with him, Lucas left the room where he met Asher, waiting by the door. Asher...looked miserable. Just like Felix. Now, Asher was also making Lucas feel worried.

Lucas grabbed him and brought him to the living room, sitting down to talk.

There, Asher immediately broke down, expressing his regrets.

"...I feel like this is my fault. I was angry and only focused on stating facts rather than thinking about what could be happening. I can’t believe I made him believe he was crazy."

"Asher, it’s not your fault. He had witnessed this kind of a thing happening to his mother who then eventually went crazy. So, it’s normal he fears like this. It has nothing to do with how you handled the situation."

Lucas said.

"...What am I going to do sir Lucas? Now, he doesn’t even look at me. I know he is avoiding me. I feel horrible."

Asher mumbled.

"Haa...Asher, he is not avoiding you because he blames you. He is afraid of hurting you and is feeling lost. You know he is very naive and only cares about the people around him. This is also like it. He doesn’t want you to see him...going crazy. For whatever the reason he feels it’s best to ignore everyone. I think...he is scared."

Lucas tried his best to make Asher feel he had not done anything wrong.

’Asher doesn’t deserve to be miserable like this... Damn you Felix. You should have thought more before completely distancing yourself.’
