Chapter 144: Weird

After a long kiss, Asher finally let go of the duke and decided that it was enough for the day. They were more tired than how it would have been to be busy working, as the emotional toll was way heavier than anything else. Asher hoped this really ended very soon.

After some more time resting, they had dinner together and as usual, went to sleep together. But that day it was quieter than before since both of them fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow unlike other days where they would be talking or doing something till one of them fell asleep. It was very silent that day. So tense...

The stress had completely drained their energy and positive spirit...

’I don’t know if I am ready for the moment where things could get worse.’

"Mmm..."

The next morning, surprisingly, Asher was the first to wake up.

After waking up though, he didn’t know why he felt so bothered and troubled in the morning. But then, seeing the duke still sleeping which was something that didn’t happen often, Asher couldn’t contain his excitement.

Asher snuggled in, his face now buried in the duke’s chest.

Asher slowly unbuttoned the duke’s clothes, then pulled them away as Asher hugged the bare skin of the duke.

The duke’s body temperature made Asher feel so comfortable. He smiled in satisfaction and kissed the duke’s chest, then moving around as he kissed around too.

Which....

Eventually woke up the duke.

"I was wondering what mosquito was biting me. Turned out it even removed my clothes."

Asher heard the duke say in a hoarse voice and paused his movements as he was caught. Asher was amused and couldn’t help but chuckle, then crawl up to see his face.

"I didn’t bite so why did you think it was a mosquito?"

"Well, don’t mosquitoes kiss too?"

"Yeah, they can kiss but it will hurt."

"Oh...Then this is a kissing mosquito that doesn’t hurt me."

Asher and Felix were suddenly laughing at each other’s dumb talk, then snuggling in cosily to laze around a little more.

Asher closed his eyes but opened them again as he felt quite uncomfortable while his smile eventually got wiped away.

It was uncomfortable.

Not physically...

But...there was something in his mind that bothered him.

Weirdly enough, he couldn’t figure out what exactly was the problem with him either.

"Is something wrong? Why are you frowning?"

Asher heard the duke ask and shook his head, coming back to his senses.

"I think it’s because I just woke up. I feel heavy and annoyed."

Asher complained and saw the duke’s face drop too.

"Are you sick?"

"No. Maybe I might be catching a cold. Don’t worry."

"Then Let’s call lucas."

"What, no! It could be just a cold. Are You crazy? I’m sure sir Lucas will be mad if you annoy him to just treat my cold."

"I am sure he will be mad if I don’t."

"Whatever...no need to talk to him. I just said I thought. I don’t know if it’s indeed a cold or I am just feeling grumpy in the morning.. So, don’t worry."

"...Okay then. But if something is wrong, tell me, okay?"

"Mm..."

Asher said, then closing his eyes again.

But something was bugging him still.

’Why do I feel weird today?’

Asher thought for a moment but then decided to ignore as he then squeezed himself into the duke’s arms.

Then, he kind of realised he knew what this feeling...

’Did I forget something? I feel like...I forgot something...important...’

Asher thought and realised it was this nagging feeling that made him restless, as if he had something he was planning to do but somewhat missing it...

"Why are you frowning like that again? Are you sure it’s nothing serious?"

When Asher frowned again while trying hard to think what he forgot about, the duke noticed him frowning again which made him worry.

"I am fine. By the way, Is there something we planned to do? I...feel like I forgot something."

"...Well...I don’t think we planned for anything. Other than...the time you promised me you don’t touch my butt for a week. I am pretty sure you will forget that since you have already done it twice."

The duke said and Asher burst out laughing.

"Haha...Obviously, how can I remember such a thing? Obviously I would purposefully forget it. Who don’t want touch that butt?"

"Hey! Why are you touching me again?! Think again if it’s something else. You looked so serious and concerned before!"

"Guess I was just being paranoid."

"...Haa...As long long as you think it’s nothing big..."

Felix said and Asher jumped on him again, hugging and kissing him.

’Fuck...I still feel weird.’

Asher couldn’t shake off that feeling but no matter how much he tried he couldn’t remember. It was annoying rather than anything else.

’We just spent our days just as usual, didn’t we? I’m pretty sure I didn’t promise anything to Miss Anne either. Nothing special happened so...what is this?’

Asher asked himself, falling asleep on the duke again. Seeing him sleeping, Felix didn’t move since he also had more time before going back to work. He may stay with Asher for the longest he could.

But, he didn’t sleep again like Asher did since he had not done that before and he didn’t feel like sleeping again.

Alas, now he was quite worried for Asher.

Asher looked seriously concerned about something and Felix felt like Asher was bothered by it a lot.

And now he thinks about it...

’I also feel like I forgot something. Did I miss something or did I have something planned? Was it because Asher mentioned it before?’

Felix couldn’t help but suspect his memory felt quite off for a moment...

Since he had never forgotten anything important before, he thought this feeling must be there because Asher just mentioned about him feeling like he forgot something.

’It must be...’

He clearly remembered he had the most casual days lately.

So, there was nothing important to keep in his min-

’Ah! Miss Lara came to see me and I forgot to tell Anne! I was planning to inform her about what I talked about with Miss Lara and tell her to quickly finish all her tasks since she will be starting her classes again...I couldn’t do it because I was busy. Haa...I should do it first thing in the morning today.’
