My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back
Chapter 94: Bad Cooperation

Chapter 94: Bad Cooperation

Eryx stood tall in front of everyone, gripping Eloise’s wrist tightly. "Who the hell do you think you are to raise your hand on my wife?!" His voice was loud and full of fury, making everyone stop and stare.

Lunara froze, only her eyes kept on blinking. She hadn’t even realized when Eryx had arrived.

While Eloise struggled, trying to pull her wrist free from his hold, she snapped, "Let go of me!" glaring at him.

The crowd stood still, the presence of Eryx sending a chill through the air around them.

Eryx’s eyes never left Eloise as he spoke again, his voice harsh. "Raise even a finger against her one more time, and you might go home crawling. Understand?" He shoved her hand away.

The moment Eryx turned and faced Lunara, his cold expression shifted instantly. "Are you okay?"

Lunara blinked rapidly, still in shock, before nodding and gesturing for him to come closer. "Tell me the truth, you’re really not a mafia leader, right?"

Eryx, who had been so serious just moments ago, closed his eyes, trying to hold back laughter. "I... am not." He flicked his finger lightly on her forehead.

Lunara smiled, "I’m okay, but Mom... I think she might’ve twisted her wrist, or worse, broken it." She turned toward Regina before rushing to her side. "Hurry, help her."

"She can walk," he said indifferently.

Frowning, Lunara pulled him by the arm. "Come on, help me get her up."

Regina shook her head. "It’s okay, I can get up by myself."

She tried to push herself up with her hand but winced in pain, her breath hitching.

Without saying a word, Lunara tugged on Eryx’s sleeve again. He let out a low sigh, then crouched down, turning his back to Regina.

"Hop on," Eryx said flatly.

Regina tapped lightly on his back. "No, it’s okay. I can walk." A small, shy smile tugged at her lips.

Eryx stood back up, saying nothing more. Lunara gave him a brief look, poked his waist, and whispered, "Hold her." But he didn’t move.

Letting out a small sigh, Lunara stepped forward and gently wrapped an arm around Regina’s shoulder. "Come on, I’ll help you," she said softly.

They had barely taken a few steps when the commotion behind them exploded.

The security line broke. Reporters shoved past the barricade, their voices loud and insistent, microphones flashing like weapons.

"Mr. Grantham, is this an official announcement of your marriage?"

"Does this mean the engagement with the Sterling family is canceled?"

"When did you and Miss Lunara meet? Was this all planned behind the scenes?"

Before they could respond, Eloise’s voice cut through the chaos like a knife. "She planned it all! Lunara! That woman used her face and schemed everything! She acted drunk and slipped into Mr. Grantham’s hotel room!"

She smirked, clearly pleased with her performance, thinking she had struck a blow deep enough to shake them.

She barely remembered the actual story, just bits her father, Gideon, had mentioned about trying to sell Lunara to Old Man Vaughn. The rest? She made it all up. If she couldn’t get anything from causing this mess, at the very least, she wanted to see Lunara fall with it.

Gasps echoed from the reporters, cameras flashing rapidly. Some started murmuring, while others shouted more questions all at once.

Lunara froze, her hand tightening around Regina’s arm.

But Eryx didn’t flinch. He took a step forward, his face dark and dangerous. "And what’s wrong with slipping into my room while getting drunk?"

The murmurs instantly silenced.

"She’s my wife," Eryx said, standing tall. "For two years... And what’s wrong with my wife slipping into my room acting drunk?"

Eryx’s eyes turned cold as he stepped forward, his gaze narrowing at Eloise, then shifting to the reporters. "Any false news about my wife, and you’ll regret it." His voice was low but carried the weight of a warning, a promise that no one would dare cross.

The crowd fell silent, the tension in the air heavy. Eryx’s stance was unwavering as he addressed the reporters. "If anyone dares to spread lies about her or manipulate the truth in any way, I’ll make sure your careers end before they even begin."

He turned to Lunara, his eyes softening for a moment. "Let’s go inside."

Lunara nodded, still holding Regina’s arm. As they walked past the stunned reporters, Eloise’s frustrated glare followed them, and she mumbled under her breath, "This won’t end like this, Lunara. I’ll make sure you don’t get a day of peace."

Turning to go back, Eloise pushed her way through the crowd of reporters, stomping her foot in frustration. "Move! Can’t you see I want to go?!" she snapped, her voice dripping with annoyance.

The reporters scattered, but their sharp glares followed her every step.

As Eloise walked a little further, she stopped when she noticed a man standing not far from the scene. He was tall, well-dressed, with a sharp look in his eyes that made her pause. He looked like he was waiting for her, his posture relaxed but with an edge that made Eloise uneasy.

She raised an eyebrow, pausing for a moment, wondering if he might be her father’s creditor. "Who are you?" she asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

The man smiled slightly, as if he knew exactly what she was thinking. "I think we have a common interest," he said, his voice low. He looked her up and down before continuing, "I’m not here by chance. I’ve been following the situation with Lunara... and I can offer you help, if you want it."

Eloise’s lips curved into a small, cautious smile. "Help?"

The man’s eyes glinted, a flicker of pain crossing his face as he flexed his hand, the one that had nearly broken when Eryx had gotten mad. He spoke with a cold, venomous edge, "I’ve got a score to settle with them, just like you do."

He stepped closer, his voice dropping to a whisper in her ear. "You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s work together... for the right price."
