My Cold-Hearted Husband Wants Me Back
Chapter 130: Shameless Husband

Chapter 130: Shameless Husband

Eryx stood outside, leaning casually against the porch railing. His phone was pressed to his ear, and his voice was kept low to make sure it wouldn’t be heard by anyone else.

"Yeah," Callum said on the other end. "We got him. Took longer than expected, but he’s not going anywhere now."

Eryx let out a short breath, his fingers drumming lightly against the railing. "Good. Keep him there. I’ll handle the rest later."

He was about to end the call when Naomi suddenly walked out through the front door. He turned his head slightly and saw she was dressed up neatly, even prettily.

"Where are you going?" he asked, pushing off the railing and walking forward, closing the distance between them.

Naomi stopped, surprised by his sudden question.

"I’ll call you back," Eryx muttered into the phone before slipping it into his pocket. His eyes narrowed slightly as he took in her appearance.

"It looks like you’ve been loving to go out lately. With who?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Naomi fidgeted with the strap of her bag. "Just... a friend," she said, avoiding his gaze.

Eryx didn’t say anything right away. He studied her for a moment longer, his instincts kicking in. Naomi had been grieving for months after what happened with Mila. Seeing her like this, dressing up, going out late, he should be happy but it unsettled him more than he cared to admit.

"Be careful," he finally said, his voice firm but not unkind.

Naomi gave a small nod. "I will."

His eyes followed her steps as she walked down the driveway and slipped into a car. He stayed still, watching until she drove off and disappeared down the street.

Without wasting time, Eryx pulled out his phone again and called one of the security team.

"Follow her," he ordered, his voice low and firm. "Make sure she doesn’t notice. I want to know who she meets."

"Understood, sir," the man on the other end replied immediately.

Eryx ended the call and slipped the phone back into his pocket, his mind still uneasy. He didn’t like doing this to Naomi, but something inside him refused to brush it off. Not when he knew how deeply she had been hurting.

With a tired sigh, he finally turned and headed back into the house, masking the worry behind a calm face as he pushed open the front door.

"What’s with the long sigh? Is your head still hurting?" Lunara suddenly appeared in front of him, her brows knitting together in concern.

She tiptoed, trying to get a better look at his head, her eyes squinted as she trying to check for any sign of discomfort.

Eryx chuckled softly and caught her hand. "No, it’s not that," he said, giving her a reassuring smile. "Just thinking about some work stuff."

Lunara deepened the squinted as she became suspicious, clearly not buying it, but chose to let it slide for now. "You’re supposed to be resting, not stressing over work," she huffed, rolling her eyes. "Come, bend down a little..." she gestured her hand asking him to lean forward.

He smiled and didn’t say much, following her instruction, "Yes, nurse. So, how is the wound today?" He chuckled, lifting his hair a bit, to make sure she could see the wound better.

She slapped his arm and gave him a pointed stare.

He winced dramatically, grabbing his arm. "Violence against the patient? What’s your name again? I’m going to report you to the hospital and have you assigned to work for me only."

"Argh! Since when did you become this cringe?" she groaned, her face twisting in irritation. "I preferred you when you were cold and annoying. Getting hit on the head really messed you up."

Eryx’s smirk faded, his gaze sharpening like a blade. He leaned forward until their faces were almost level, his breath brushing her skin.

"Is your mouth always this sharp?" he said, his voice low, stripped of any warmth.

Lunara blinked, caught off guard by the sudden shift. "What? What?"

"Did you plan this?" He tilted his head, studying her with a chilling look. "I never knew you could be this cunning."

She stepped back, rolling her eyes. "Stop, Mr. Eryx Cyrus."

"Stop what?" He raised an eyebrow, a dangerous glint flickering in his eyes. His posture was taut, his hands flexing at his sides like he was ready to snap.

"Okay enough," She pinched his cheeks, "You are making me nervous."

He frowned before suddenly slipping his hand around her waist and lifted her up. "Since you planned this, I’ll never let you go."

"Stop it!" she wriggled in his embrace, squirming to break free. "This suddenly became even more cringe."

He stopped, shifting her position so she was forced to look at him properly. His cold gaze locked onto hers as he tilted his head slightly. "I thought you preferred this ’me’."

"Hmm..." She scrunched her nose, clearly frustrated. "Not the faking one. I mean, the cold you... the real you."

Eryx blinked in confusion, pausing as if weighing her words. Then, with a sly grin, he slid her down slightly, his breath warm against her ear as he whispered, "Is that what turns you on?"

"Eryx Cyrus Grantham!" she shouted, her voice piercing the air, making him flinch at the sharp pitch.

Eryx chuckled, clearly enjoying the effect his words had on her. "Careful, honey. I’m starting to think you like when I push your buttons."

Lunara flushed, embarrassment flashing across her face. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to punch him or kiss him, and that feeling unsettled her. "Ah please...I couldn’t handle this."

He narrowed her eyes before shifting her up, "Let’s go, I suddenly remember. You didn’t check the size properly back then."

"What size?" She pulled away slightly by pushing his shoulders a bit and caught a sly smirk on Eryx’s lips. "Are you always this shameless?! Put me down."

"Nope! I’m not going too." He continued walking to the stairs, going straight to their room.

Eryx glanced up at her with a teasing glint in his eyes. "This shameless husband is going to make sure his wife gets the proper size this time, you know, since I’m not acting small in every sense now."1
