Chapter 72: NICE TO MEET YOU, STEP MOM AND NOAH

Dove stood up, smiled at them before saying, "Hello, Step Mom. Hello Noah." Truth to be said, neither Noah nor Freya was ready for this. In fact, for Freya everything that was happening from the last some ten to fifteen minutes, it was enough shocks she have had for a while. She did not even know anything, and she was already getting so many surprises. And Noah, he knew that Dove would be arriving today, with her son. And she was taking over and joining the company from tomorrow, he knew it. In fact, he himself has come here because of her.

Yet, he was not any less shocked. Noah was equally shocked as his mother. Why? Well, it was because firstly, they did not think that Dove would even be telling about them to her son. And even if she did, they did not at all expect her to just now stand up on her own and greet them with a smile. Dove, she disliked them so much, so much so, that she wouldn’t even be talking to them without anything of absolute necessity. And she would at times make sure that they know it. Especially towards Noah. But that seems changed.

Noah and Freya, they did not answer. And both stood at their places, in as short trance, while Dove walked forward towards them. With the same smile on her lips, she said, "How are you both doing? I am hoping that you are doing well." Her eyes fell on Freya and she addressed her first, "Step Mom, I heard that you got diagnosed with diabetes, and high blood pressure. Are you controlling that? I have got some vitamins and syrups, that might help you."

"Eh?" Before she knew, Freya in her already confused state questioned, before the question she understood and she nodded her head, and said, "U- um. Yes. I have been keeping my diet under regulation and taking medicines." She answered. Her tone was low and gentle. The little communication just happened, both of them would perhaps realise that it has never occurred in a very, very long while among both of them. So long that none of them even remembered if they even talked like this.

But the one thing that Freya was the most astonished was that, Dove was keeping tracks about her health! And she even brought her something regarding her health. But the thing that made Freya feel guilty about the most was that, Dove at least knew so much about her while she did not used to leave her. While she? She did not even know what gender her baby was, or when did she even give birth!

This realisation made Freya want to hide her face from embarrassment. But as Dove was still talking to her, she smiled at her and slowly nodded her head, "t- Thank you."

Dove, she wasn’t aware of the inner turmoil in Freya’s mind, she still had that smile on her face, and then turned towards Noah, and spoke, "And Mr Noah Henley. Very, very congratulations for you being one of the directors of the board."

Noah who was staring at Dove will all his heart, his heart skipped a beat when Dove spoke to him directly, and in that polite tone, without the sharp edge in her voice, that she would always have in the past. Noah never knew that it was possible for them to talk like this. But here they were. He smiled back at Dove and said, "Thank you. And I am very eagerly looking forward to look under CEO Dove Sterling."

Dove smiled at him before nodding her head.

Just then, they all heard Senior Sterling’s voice from behind, "Both of you came at the perfect time. The dinner is also almost ready."

Only then did Noah’s and Freya’s eyes and attention fell on the other two people, as they overcame their shocks of seeing Dove and her son today. And when they looked there, Dante was the first one who caught their attention. The man was looking at them with no expression on his face. But he had that undeniable aura.

And the way, he was carrying himself screamed, ’No nonsense’. Noah looked at the man, as they made their way towards the couch. He did not know why but he got a strange feeling from the man. Hed couldn’t exactly point out what, but it was strange. When his mother and him reached the couch, Senior Sterling introduced them to Niah, "This is Dante Lancaster, the boy that I had was talking about to you last day. And that is his friend, Calix."

On being introduced, Noah slightly raised his eyebrows as he realised who he was. Apparently, Senior Sterling had told him about Dante sometime ago. Noah has also heard about the boy whom Senior Sterling had once saved years ago, and the boy was someone whom Senior Sterling liked very much. But he did not know that Dante was the owner of the Fort Groups.

Noah smiled at the man, before he went to politely walk forward to shake his hands with him, which Dante reciprocated very professionally. Noah meanwhile, did sigh in relief just a while earlier when he heard Senior Sterling introduce him to them. Because earlier when he saw him witting with Dove and her son, all of them laughing, he had a very omnious thought in his head.

He thought that maybe he was the man Dove liked and her son’s father. And Noah was not ready to accept all of this all together. "It is a pleasure meeting you, Mr Lancaster. We have heard a lot about you." Noah said. To which, Dante smiled at him and nodded, "It is nice meeting you too, Mr Henley."

Noah had that polite and professional smile on his face, as he said, "What do you, Mr Lancaster?"

"I am in the security industry, Mr Henley." To which Noah politely nodded his head. But the next second he froze.
