"Miss Dove, I don’t want to ask you anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. Because I believe that if you want me to know something you would just tell me." Dante said.

He saw Dove staring at his face, and he smiled softly before continuing, "Moreover, whatever that woman said I know it was bullshit even if you don’t tell me."

Dove blinked her eyes in slight surprise, before a small smile appeared on her lipsz and she lowered her head to look at her plate and murmured, "Why do you have so much trust on me, Mr Lancaster? Maybe what she told was right."

Dove felt a strange clenching feeling in her heart and he pressed her lips together. Dante, why does he so easily believes that, when the Mr and Mrs Davis, who had seen her grow up, they hadn’t even asked her for at least an explanation before jumping into any conclusion.

She understands that she was also not in complete right, as Roan had seen her with someone else with his own eyes, and she wasn’t denying it, and wasn’t even blaming it to him. But to go on telling people that the treated her like their own daughter, so it was at least expected that they would have at least let the daughter explain.

But they did not. And what hurt Dove even more from their side was that, she initially thought that if they also came to know what their son himself has done too, then perhaps they would even it out. It would not end in a very good note, but it wouldn’t be so bad too.

But she was proven wrong today. They just told that they used to see her as family. Because even after knowing whatever their son that done, they still stuck on blaming and defaming her.

She knew that she wasn’t completely at no fault from her side, but even they were not all clean. So why only blame her?

Well, if that was so, if she was already the bad guy in the story, she would actually prove to be one.

Dante continued staring at Dove as she seemed to be in her own thoughts, before he spoke gaining her attention again, "Even if what that woman said was right, I believe that how she said was not."

"Hm?" Dove blinked her eyes. And he said, "Miss Dove, though i don’t know everything about what actually happened," though I know most of it, was what went silent, "I can bet on my life that even if those are true, you must have had your own reasons. Moreover, staying with you all this while, I know that you are not characterless. Other wise, given the long list of admirers that you have already, you would probably have a harem already." And as Dante said that, he himself felt so bitter. What, harem! Though Dove is all capable of creating a harem, he would be the her favourite even if there is one!

No! No! No! She is all his, he isn’t going to share her with anyone else! Hmph!

And Dove chuckled a little hearing his last line. And Dante when he saw her giggling, his imaginary bitterness faded too. And then he smiled and said, "And about Gavi’s father, I guess it is completely your choice if you wish to keep it your own private matter.

Moreover, you have mentioned time and again that he is your boyfriend and that you are in love, but you just don’t want to reveal his name." Though, it had been going on for a while in his mind, but he guessed that it was a way for her out in front of people. After all, she did not even know that who was that man that night.

"Though..." Dante trialed a little, and when he met Dove’s eyes, she smiled at her kindly and said, "Though I hope that you would probably trust me enough to tell me about it. After all, I am your bodyguard, someone in charge of your safety. So I need to know about it, if someday it calls for it."

But the main thing is that Dante just wanted her to trust him to tell him that herself. After all, he already had to start winning over her trust now, and then her heart.

Dove kept quiet for a while, and so did Dante. They for a little moment just had their meal in silence, and then Dove finally broke the silence and she said, "The truth is, I don’t really know who is Gavi’s father."

Dove raised her head with a slight bitter smile on her face and she went on saying, "I have no idea who I had spent the night with four years back. I do not know what happened, but that day I was suddenly feeling very sick, maybe I drank something wrong. And... ended up getting raped?" Dante froze in horror when he heard her say that. But then Dove shook her head and said, "Or maybe not, because there was no sign of assault with me. Roan and Nora, the girl’s whose birthday party it was, they saw me themselves. And though i didn’t remember anything, they said that I did not show any sigh of reluctance there.

Whatever it was. And the bigger mistake that I made was the next morning, I was so shocked and horrored by everything about it, that I just ran away from there, thinking that I would forget that as a bad dream. Only to find out that the situation had spiralled out differently, and later that I was pregnant."

She found Dante quietly listen to her, and she just went on summarising everything that had happened in short, also why she came up with the ’boy friend’ lie. And Dante’s guess was right.
