"No way". I muttered in horror, because I had been calling my sons’ numbers, but they hadn’t been picking up my calls.

Earlier today, when they left for a stroll, I didn’t stop them because I had no idea that demons existed.

It was this evening that I saw news concerning an attack that had happened in the heart of the Diamond Heart City.

Actually, I have been in my office for a long, long time.

I didn’t even use my cell phone until this evening.

I gasped the instant I heard something like glass breaking.

The sound came from upstairs.

’Our kids, Sadira!’. I exclaimed in my mind and ran upstairs, jumping over more than five stairs at once.

The first place I thought of searching for my sons was their room. My body crashed into the door, breaking the door down.

The moment I entered my sons’ room, I halted after seeing that they were totally alright. And what seemed to have broken, was the vase of flowers that I had used to decorate their room.

I returned to my human form and what I did next was to go and hug my sons, who were standing next to each other.

"Are you alright, sons?!". I asked them.

"I- I can’t breathe!". Chase shouted and struggled to pull himself away from me.

Despite his efforts, he couldn’t free himself from my embrace.

What did he expect? I was his mother, and I was stronger than he was.

Anyway, I let go of both him and Caden. "Are both of you alright? You haven’t been picking up my calls". I asked them.

"Was that why you were panicking and broke down the door, mom?". Chase asked me and shook his head in disbelief.

He said it as if it was simple. When he matures in the future and has children of his own, then he will understand my worries.

My eyes instantly darted to Caden’s bed and I saw her. ’Am I seeing correctly?’. I wondered and slowly walked toward the bed.

I squatted next to the bed, and as my hand reached out and tried to touch her face, it began to tremble on its own.

I could not control it.

"Ah!". I retreated and fell to a sitting position. I felt a great flood of guilt wash over me.

I was scared of her. Something feels off about her. I could sense it but could not tell what exactly it was.

Staying close to her, it felt like an invisible force was pressuring me and was trying to crush me.

"Mom? Are you okay?". Chase asked me. I noticed him heading my way.

"No- no! Stay back, Chase!". I screamed these words without even thinking straight.

What was wrong with me? Why am I so scared of my niece? Furthermore, how come she is here in my mansion and in my sons’ room? What is she doing here?

I got up to my feet and retreated further away from her, until I hit Chase’s bed. As I turned around, I saw a young man lying on the bed.

Immediately, I turned to Caden and Chase.

Chase was smiling nervously at me, but Caden had a calm expression on his face.

"I want both of you to tell me what is going on. And fast!". I declared.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

The sound of heavy footsteps sounded and echoed outside the corridor.

It was getting closer to the twins’ bedroom.

"Did you possibly come with someone, mom?". Chase asked me. His voice was low, and the nervous smile on his face had utterly disappeared and was now replaced by a vigilant face and scared eyes.

Even Caden was vigilant and was entering his beast/attack mode.

"Quick, hide!". I said to them and shifted into my wolf form.
