Chapter 147: Chapter 147) Who does the dark energy belong to?/ Worn out.

"What is she doing here?". I asked Caden. My eyes never left her side.

"I don’t know".

To be sure that I was seeing clearly and that my eyes were not mistaken or deceiving me, I went to her side and squatted, in order to see her face properly.

A few strands of her golden hair covered a small part of her sharp face, so I gently removed the strands of hair from her face.

’It’s truly her’. I thought. But what is she doing here? And with a guy?

I know I haven’t met my elder sister face to face before, but her presence feels faint to me.

I rose to my feet and turned to Caden, who had come and stood beside me.

"I’m glad I followed my instincts. It led me to our elder sister. We have to take her back with us. When she wakes up, she can tell us what happened to her". Caden said to me, but that didn’t change the fact that he risked both our lives by trusting in his instincts.

I didn’t want to start an argument with him at a moment like this, so I decided to let it go for now and not quarrel with him.

He should be glad that it was our elder sister we met here. What if it had been a demon or hybrid creature?

"But wait, Caden. The dark energy we sensed.... Who does it belong to?". I asked him, before we slowly turned to our elder sister and the guy she was with.

I was still able to sense the dark energy. But, it can’t possibly be coming from her, right? Neither was it coming from the guy, because he is clearly a human.

"Don’t overthink it, Chase. Can’t you see that she’s with a human? Maybe a demon took him captive and our sister saw it and saved him, thus injuring herself in the process". Caden explained to me, but why didn’t I find his explanation believable?

"Caden I don’t understand. Isn’t our elder sister supposed to be the most powerful werewolf in the entire world? Isn’t she even more powerful than the Lycan King?".

"Even the most powerful have a weakness and can get hurt too, Chase". Caden placed his hand on my shoulder as he said this to me. "We should take her with us. This place is dangerous. Whatever she had fought with might return if we continued to stay here".

Hearing what Caden said, I nodded at him almost immediately and was in a hurry to leave this place.

Compared to Caden, I wasn’t that courageous. I was scared of the wild beasts and hybrid creatures. And now that demons exist too, I hope never to cross paths with any one of them. Even though it was the weakest of them.

Without hesitation, I carried alpha Anastasia on my back. "Let’s go". I said to Caden.

I was already leaving, but I noticed that he wasn’t coming with me, so I halted and looked behind me, only to see him staring at the young man with pity.

"What? Let’s hurry up and leave!". I said to him.

"We can’t leave him behind. My conscience won’t let me". He admitted.

I wasn’t that surprised, since that was his nature. A fair and kind werewolf.

What a bother.

"Well? If you can’t bear to leave him behind, carry him and let’s go". I suggested, but why was he standing there staring at me and was hesitating?

What does he mean by that?

"Can’t you see that he is big and muscular? You are stronger than me, you should be the one carrying him. Give our elder sister to me. I will carry her instead". He announced. He didn’t even ask for my opinion, and he came and took our unconscious sister away from my back and carried her in his arms.

"Make sure to bring him along with you. Don’t you leave him behind". He left before I could reply to him.

No. I was speechless and couldn’t reply to him.

I only pointed a finger at him, but the right words refused to come out of my mouth.

Seeing that he had left, I sighed in defeat. "What a burden". I groaned and went and carried the young man on my back.

"Ugh. You are quite a heavy guy". I groaned after I carried him on my back.

Without delay, I hurried out of the building, where I saw Caden waiting for me. He had not left the factory area.

At least, I was glad that he didn’t leave first without me, his adorable twin brother.

"Mom is going to be so surprised, Caden. Are you sure we should take them back to the Mansion?".

"Yes".

The hotel,

Beta Damien’s pov,

’Wake up, Damien. You have been unconscious long enough’.

I was already waking up, but Darren’s voice made my eyes open instantly. The first thing I did was massage my temples as I felt a throbbing pain.

"What happened to me? I passed out? How?". I was confused.

’Our alpha must have secretly set up an invisible barrier before she left. I think you passed out right after you collided with the invisible barrier’. Darren said to me.

I rose up from the floor and a flood of embarrassment rushed through my veins.

I can’t believe I passed out like that in the presence of Anders.

Speaking of Anders, I found him sleeping on the sofa with the two cats asleep on top of him.

Why do I feel that both cats like him, compared to me?

Ignoring that, I frowned when I couldn’t sense Alpha Anastasia’s presence.

She hasn’t returned.

Staring outside the window and seeing the way the sun bathed the atmosphere with its warm light, I knew that it was afternoon.

Meaning that Alpha Anastasia and the Lycan King have been gone for hours and haven’t returned.

The thoughts of these made me very unsettled. "I can’t give up now. Somehow, I must break through this invisible barrier". I declared and went to the door and opened it.

It was weird that I was able to open the door without flying off this time.

Anyway, I braced myself as I prepared to step out of the room.

One of my legs made it outside the room, and when I saw that nothing had happened to me, I came out of the room completely.

"The invisible barrier must have worn out. I am going to find our alpha, Darren".
