A thick and suffocating silence followed after Adam’s questions. His eyes demanded an answer but betrayed the fact that he was also too afraid to hear. He feared the truth that might be revealed. Was everything a setup from the very beginning? Adm didn’t want to believe but shake it off.

Meanwhile, Alex just shrugged like it was no big deal. He had absolutely no plan to answer that question as he was being careful what he revealed before Sara got a reaction from recalling something suddenly. She might just faint again, and he didn’t want that happening. His heart may not be able to take it.

"Unc...Alex, what did you mean when you said, ’take her back’?" He repeated his question, and Alex smirked.

He was starting to piece things together. Too bad he would end up being wrong no matter how hard he tried to put the pieces together.

The tension grew with Alex and Adam staring intensely into each other’s eyes. While Adam gnashed his teeth, Alex smirked. He shrugged in a carefree manner, tilting his head to the side, he said, "Why don’t you take a guess," his words hitting more nerves inside Adam than Adam would like and Alex knew just that.

Sara let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding after hearing Alex’s casual response to Adam. He didn’t seem phased that he would be accused of orchestrating Adam’s downfall as she realized she also didn’t have to care about it. The man never cared about enough to care about her feelings and the consequences of their separation. Whatever is happening to him now, he should deal with it on his own.

"Sadie," Sara called, her voice slightly raised so that she could be heard outside the room. Alaxe and Adam looked at wondering why she was calling the troublesome woman, but she only gave them a smile.

A little while later, the door opened, and Sadie came into view. "You called for me, Young Miss?"

"Yes, I did," she said without even realizing how she readily acknowledged the way she was addressed. "Our guest has overstayed his welcome. Please show him out," she instructed.

Sadie smiled and gave a small nod to her before she fully came inside. "If you don’t mind...?" She gestured him to the door, but Adam remained rooted in his position, his gaze still.licked on Alex and sometimes alternating to Sara, whose expression was indifferent.

Adam opened his mouth to speak but couldn’t form any words. This was too much for him to take in all at once. How was he supposed to believe that his fiance... no, ex fiancé was now dating his uncle. When Alex said he could make Sara his aunt during their dinner together, he didn’t think he meant but seeing this now...

It was too hard to believe it only just recently started. They couldn’t have just met. They must have been in contact for a long time but kept their acquaintance hidden from everyone.

"I was a fool," Adam.managed to say and Sara didn’t hesitate to nod in agreement with him.

"Indeed you were," she said without an ounce of pity or care for him.

Hearing those words from her and the way she looked at him while saying them, he felt his heart shatter in a million ways. Many editors crashed over but the prominent ones were unmistakable, the anger and hatred on his heart had a significant increase that he feared he might just lose his mind soon.

"Please leave Adam, I am still a patient here and do not need to be stressed—more stressed out than I already am," Sara said, her impatience palpable.

"Mr Crawford, please leave," Sadie said. Adam casted a glance at her. He balled his fist eveh harder as his knuckles turned white, his and his finger started to hurt from all the clenching he had been doing. It was a miracle his palm was bleeding alreading.

Casting one finally glance at Sara ND Alex, Adam stormed out of the room. As soon as the door closed behind him, he turned abruptly and threw a punch without caring where it would hit or if it would hit a person.

Sadie who was right behind him a quickly took a side step, evading the coming assault and his fist landed on the wall just less than five inches away from her face. She stared right at him, without blinking even when she met his hard and furious gaze.

"This is a hospital, Young Master Crawford. Control yourself," she said, her tone was plain, neither harsh nor friendly but more like a casual reminder.

Sadie saw his jaws work as he tried to hold himself back. Wordlessly, he withdrew his hand from the wall. The place he had punched had a dent on it and little blood stains could be seen on it. Her eyws trailed down to his knuckled and saw the blood dropping from them to the ground but she did not comment.

Adam walked away without saying a word. His steps were longe strides, he moved like a man heading to slaughter. His brooding and oppressive aura was enough to send those with weaker mind coweing in fear.

Sadie clicked her tongue blaming hom fowhatevee happened inside that turned his already sour mood even more sour. Had he left when she told him to, he wouldn’t be this messed up now.

A while later, Dr Brooks and Dr Walter returned to give the fiance Chek on Sara. Under the watchful and intense gaze of Alex, the Doctor tried to be a accurate and efficient as possible.

"she is fine now and ready to be discharged, but she has to keep taking the medicine, prescribed,’ Dr Walter said.

"Thank you, Dr Walter," Sara said. Although she was surprised to see him, she was able to understand that Alex must have sent for him.

"You are must welcome, Mrs Legend," He said as he directed his gaze to Alex. "You can take her home now, but make sure she is well rested and is not stressed out," Alex glared at hom.but he ended up nodding his head and Walter had a victorious strike on his lips.

"I will see you soon, Mrs Legend," he said befire he turned around and left along with Dr Brooks.

His words confused Sara but she brushed it off thinking it was about their appointment in a few days.
