Chapter 89. Who He Truly is

Chapter 89: 89. Who He Truly is

Silence followed their entrance into the office. Sara sat where Kai usually would whome Alex standing behind her and Kai beside her. Her eyes were fixed on Sadie, not sure what to say to her or how to begin.

Meanwhile, it took Sadie a moment to piece one and two together and get a grasp of the situation. The woman whom she had seen earlier was actually the lady she had come to see. She stared awkwardly at her as she remembered the big misunderstanding between them.

She scratched behind her ear as it suddenly became itchy. Now that she was face to face with her, she was lost for words. Even when the words were at the tip of her tongue, it felt heavy to even lift and speak.

"Uhm... Miss Goldman, I am..." she paused when Sara frowned at how she was addressed. "I am sorry, Miss Ambrose," she corrected herself.

"That is fine," Sara said. She didn’t mean to frown, but she was just not used to being addressed that way. Besides, she hasn’t acknowledged that name yet.

"Thank you," Sadie said, happy that she was not a difficult person to deal with.

"Sadie, right?" Sara inquired, and Sadie nodded. "I do not see the need for you to be here..." Sadie’s expression fell at her words.she instinctively looked at Alex, whose gaze remained the same, and neither did his expression shift. It was as if he was accepting her silent accusation.

"...But since you are here, I can’t just send you back," as if seeing the sun rise after a long and heavy rainfall, Sadie’s expression brightened up immediately. "I have some questions that I believe only you can answer at the moment. Whether I keep you around or have your return will be determined after a short trip to Easton."

Everyone turned to look at her at the mention of the trip, surprise etched on their faces.

"You have decided to go?" Alex asked, equally as surprised. He didn’t expect her t9 make up her mind so soon, but then again, she was never one to waste much time contemplating on something.

"Yes, I want to see what kind of person he truly is. I will decide what to do next after that," she said, and Alex nodded, pleased with her reply.

"I will take you there when you are ready," Nothing was decided just yet. If she wanted to inherit the Goldmans’ fortune and carry their legacy, then he would help her, but if she wanted nothing to do with it and them in general, he would be much sure of it as well. A trip to the Goldmans was risky, but it was the only way to help her decide without having any regrets later on.

No matter how much she wanted to deny it, Trevor Goldman was her father. The whise blood ran through her veins. She may not acknowledge him, Jordan was enough to fill that spot. But she wanted to see him. To see the man whom her mother once loved. The man who abandoned them and know his reasons if there ever are any.

"I can stay?" Sadie asked. This was the only thing she cared about right now. As long as she wasn’t sent back immediately, her chances with the young Miss weren’t as slim.

"For now, yes," Sara replied, and Sadie beamed.

"Thank you. I promise you won’t regret it," she said with so much conviction that Sara found it hard to believe, but she nodded nonetheless. She could only hope she was making the right decision.

"Is it done?" Malerie asked the person. It is now that she is feeling antsy about what they have agreed to do. No matter how much she hated people, this washer first time doing something like this. Something so drastic it could claim a person’s life and the chances of death were high.

"Yes, it is done. All we have to do is wait and hope she takes the bait," the person she was talking to replied.

Malerie bit her nails out of nervousness but she still nodded, steeling her heart and resolve. They have agreed to do this, but she can’t back out now. "Is that b*tch with you?" She asked. It took the man a moment to realize who she was referring to and he chuckled much to her displeasure.

"No. She left right after giving the directions. It appears she can’t be seen within and around the premises," the man replied.

"Fine, leave there at once before you are suspected," she instructed and disconnected the call. She continued tonnage back and forth as the possibility of her actions came upon her.

"She deserves it, Mal. You won’t harm her if she doesn’t deserve it," she told herself.

Meanwhile, Jocelyn stood beside the man who had just denied her presence. She glared sharply at him but he just shrugged and pulled her away from Legend Corp.

"I still want to know what this person did that you are so bent on harming her, J. You even had to work with a b*tch who lacks conscience to pull it off as well as extorting from her," he gave her a side glance but she didn’t speak and just followed him. "How long do you plan to keep ignoring me? I am even doing this for your sake yet you are treating me like this," he frowned as he stopped to look at her properly.

"Until the pma succeeds, you are not forgiven," Jocelyn said and walked off alone.

The man clicked his tongue and chased after her.

"What if something goes wrong? What then? You and I will be in trouble. There are cameras everywhere. I know we did our best to avoid them but what if... J?"

She stopped, crossed her arms and turned to look at him. She pouted knowing he was right but refused to admit it. "The did has alr3ady been done, Ashley. We can’t do anything about it now. Not without us being discovered."

The man named Ash, sighed. What did he do to deserve a woman like this? "You Will be the death of me, Jocelyne. "
