Melting Her Cold Heart -
Chapter 122. Everyone Heard
Chapter 122: 122. Everyone Heard
"What? Is it that surprising to see me?" Kyle asked with a raised brow. He strode over to the table, but there were no seats left. "Couldn’t you have chosen a table with chairs?" He flared at Alex and Dave, whose expressions were placid.
"Every table in this hall has the same number of seats, Storm. Go get yourself a chair if you want to sit," Dave said in a bored tone.
Kyle ignored his remarks as his eyes went to the ladies, his expression turning soft. "You are beautiful as always, Sara," he turned to stand by her side with an outstretched hand. "It’s a pleasure to meet you.... Again."
"Likewise, Mr. Storm," Sara was no longer surprised to see yet another celebrity joining them at their table. First, it was the movie queen, Amber. The man with the golden finger, fashion icon Dave Dylan, and now, the king of song, Kyle Storm. Who else was coming tonight?
Then his words struck her. Wasn’t this their first meeting? "Have we ever met before?" She asked, but he brushed it off.
"Please ignore what I said," Kyle quickly said as soon as he saw the confusion in her eyes, and Alex glared at him. "I am sorry I couldn’t come here sooner. There was traffic on the way here," he apologized before exchanging pleasantries with the other women at the table.
"Ignore him," Alex whispered to her, but she couldn’t do that. She really needs to get her memories back. They were important.
"Remind me to take a picture with all three of them before the end of the night, okay?" Sandra leaned and whispered Anne and then to Jessa, who rolled her eyes at her while Anne shared her enthusiasm.
While the happy chatter went on at this table, away from them, two pairs of eyes stayed locked on Sara and Alex. The intensity of them boring invisible holes through their bodies. They silently watched, listened, and waited, but the opportunity that was needed was yet to come.
"Young Master, your father is still calling. Perhaps you should talk to him yourself? Heath said, choking his words carefully.
Ever since Alex walked in with Sara, his kood had taken a turn for the worse. Every happ6 exchange that they had with each other only served to prick him in all possible wrong ways, and now, he couldn’t wait to steal Sara from him. It didn’t matter whether she would come to resent him. As long as Alex didn’t have her, then that was fine.
"Tell him I’ll be tomorrow," Dane replied, but his gaze never left the smile on Sara’s lips as she exchanged words with others while Alex stared at her as if she was a prized painting with wonder and admiration in his eyes. The subtle smile on his lips made his features look softer compared to the hard and stoic one that Dane was accustomed to.
Heath sighed but was glad that he finally had a reasonable reply to the older Scott. He stood up and went to a quieter place to make the call.
Dane watched as Alex and Sara stood up and headed for the table where the couple of the night sat. His eyes never left them even though he couldn’t bear them. He had to admit that he was also surprised that besides being a legend, Alexander had another identity, and it wasn’t a simple one either.
He recalled the bodyguard from the Goldmans earlier, and his expression turned a shade darker. Realizing that Trevor was aware of Sara’s relationship with Alexander and it had prompted Trevor to call off years of engagement with the Scotts was a blow, he didn’t intend to let go and forgive.
Sara and Alex reached the table and the couple along with their immediate family seated with them, exchanging words with smiles on their faces. But one seat was empty, and it was not hard to know whose seat that was.
"Aunt Stella, Uncle Silas " Sara called, and the couple turned to them.
"Sara," Stella stood up and enveloped her in an embrace.
"Congratulations on your anniversary. I know it was indeed not all smooth sailing,"she said, and Stella smiled. Patting her on her back, she nodded her head.
"Yes, and it has taught many lessons," Stella agreed.
Breaking the hug, Sara introduced Alex. "This is my husband, Alexander Legend. He may not be on the invite list, but I hope you don’t mind?" Sara said, and they waved it off.
"So it was true? You got married?" Stall couldn’t help but ask.
’So everyone heard,’ Sara thought, but felt Alex hand firm on her back, giving her a silent assurance.
"We are sorry for the ruckus earlier, Mrs Romanov. That was on us," Alex apologized. "It was not our intention to disrupt the flow."
"Forget about that. Everything was quickly settled, even before we could act," Silas stood up and shook his hand with the infamous young man. "It is our honor to have you here with us tonight, Mr. Legend," Who would have thought that he was Crawford by birth? Perhaps they had all forgotten the relationship between Williams Juliette Legend, or they just never expected an offspring from the union, especially after her tragic death.
"Congratulations on marriage. It came as a surprise, but I am happy for you," while Silas engaged with Alex Stella pulled Sara to the empty chair. Sara nodded to the other seated at the table, which they returned with nods and smiles of their own.
"Thank you, Aunt," Sara said, smiling at the older woman whom she had known for a long time now. She may not have a mother of her own anymore, but many others did try to fill thay empty spot in her life, and Stella was one of them. That’s one of the reasons she wanted to come here and not just because they were Sandra’s parents.
"Don’t mention it. It just saddens me that I never came to the wedding. I didn’t even know about it,’ she wanted to blame Sandra for not telling, but she didn’t know if Sandra knew about it either.
"We got married today. There hasn’t been a wedding yet. I’ll invite you when there’s gonna be one," Sara said, hiding Stella’s hands in hers. "You have my word."
"Today?" Stella’s eyes sparkled at the news. "Does that mean that by this time next year, we will have our anniversaries together?"
Silas and Alex turned to look at them, not when they got that far to start talking about shared anniversaries?
Sara laughed but didn’t give a definite answer.
"Women" Silas sighed , and Alex just smiled and shook his head.

Meanwhile, Adam sat in the backseat of his car while Chris and Julius sat at the front one Chris behind the wheel. They had drvliven in silence ever since they left the Romanovs, and the silence grew thicker with each passing minute. Unable to bear the silent tension anymore, Chris pulled over to the sidewalk.
Adam, jusy as hebwas since he entered the car, his gaze was still a haze and mind a jumbled mess. He didn’t even notice that the car had stopped moving, but he could feel the eyes of his friends on him.
"I thought we had an agreement, dude?" Chris said, feeling frustrated with their friend. It was so reckless of him to approach Alex and Sara like that.
"Adam," Julius called when Adam still spaced out. "Why did you do that? Do you realize how much more damage you caused to yourself?" If people didn’t know before and didn’t compare him with Alex, they did now and will certainly compare them. Knowing how much Adam hated being compared to Alex, they knew more trouble was on the way.
Hearing their accusations, Adam’s mind was once again brought back to the present. He looked outside and realized they weren’t moving anymore. "Why did you stop the car?"
"You have to be kidding me right now, Adam," Chris exclaimed, raising his hand dramatically.
"Why didny you wait and follow the plan? We agreed on this. What you did was too reckless and damaging," Julius asked. He wanted to understand that Adam’s feelings were what compelled him to do that, but he could reined over those feelings.
"I..." Adam trailed off as if only realizing what he did now. Why did he do that? He announced the blood ties between him.and Alexander and even helped publicize their marriage. These were thing that he would nev3r do in his rational mind.
"Grandfather was right. I should have waited and calmed down," he uttered on defeat.
