MATED TO THE SECRET ALPHA
Chapter 91: Caught Red-Handed

Chapter 91: Caught Red-Handed

His gaze snapped back to hers, "Perhaps, but not for too long."

Mirian’s heart skipped a beat at the ominous undertone in his voice. "What do you mean?" she asked, her words barely above a whisper.

However, he didn’t continue. Instead, his arm circled her waist as he yanked her forward. Mirian’s breath caught in her throat as she was pulled flush against his chest. His eyes blazed with a fierce intensity, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with tension. Then, without warning, his lips crashed down on hers, claiming her mouth in a searing kiss.

Mirian’s eyes widened as his lips devoured hers, the sudden invasion sending shivers down her spine. She felt like she was melting into him, their bodies fused together by the intensity of the kiss. For a moment, she forgot to breathe, forgot to think, forgot everything except the sensation of his mouth on hers.

Then, he pulled away, his eyes searching hers. Mirian’s lungs burned as she gasped for air, her eyes locking onto his as if seeking an explanation for the kiss that had left her reeling. His chest heaved, his eyes blazing with a hunger that made her skin prickle with goosebumps.

"Defy the odds, defy the goddess with me, Mirian. Will you?"

Mirian’s veins pulsed rapidly, her heart throbbing with excitement and dread, as she felt the weight of her duties bearing down on her, the familiar comfort of her faith in the goddess wavering in the face of this forbidden attraction.

His eyes burned with an inner fire, beckoning her to take a leap into hell with him, to risk everything for a chance at something more.

"Will you?" he repeated, his voice low and husky, sending shivers down her spine.

"I –" but before she could finish, his lips claimed hers once more. But this time, it was different. This time, it was a question, a plea, a promise. His lips moved against hers with a desperate tenderness, as if he was willing her to say yes, to surrender to the madness that had taken hold of them both.

Mirian felt her resolve crumbling, her heart pounding in her chest like a drum. She was lost in the sensation, lost in the moment, lost in him.

He pulled back again, "Will you?"

Mirian’s eyes fluttered open, her gaze meeting his. She felt like she was drowning in the depths of his eyes, like she was being pulled under by a riptide of emotion. She took a shuddering breath, her heart racing with anticipation. And then, in a whisper that was barely audible, she said... "Let me speak to my Lu–"

He didn’t let her finish, his lips crashing down on hers once more, silencing her words. But this time, it was different. This time, it was a claim, a possession. He kissed her like he was sealing her fate, like he was binding her to him forever.

She didn’t say no. He could scent her pheromones wrapped around him. Her desire for him was like a thick, velvety mist that enveloped him, its sweetness intoxicating, its heat irresistible.

Her body leaned into his, her curves molding to his hardness, as she let out a soft moan. The air was thick with tension, heavy with the promise of what was to come. And in that moment, he knew he had her. She was his, body and soul. The thought sent a primal thrill through him, and he growled low in his throat, his arms tightening around her like a vice.

And when he finally pulled back, his eyes blazed with unrestrained fire. "You’re mine now," he growled, his gravelly voice sounding like a scratch on a sound paper. "You’ll defy the odds with us."

Mirian’s mind was light as it was, unable to understand much of what he was saying. She was on heat, her body thrumming with a primal urgency that left her breathless and bewildered. Every word he spoke was like a spark that ignited a fire within her, every touch a flame that licked at her skin. She felt herself melting into him, her senses dissolving into a sea of sensation. And yet, even as her body betrayed her, her wolf remained silent.

...

Kira had returned from the mansion, but couldn’t find Mirian anywhere. She asked a few women, who said she’d gone into the woods with the Commander, Zeta Detroit.

Kira’s brows creased, wondering who that was. Lifting up her gown, she set off towards the woods, her feet moving swiftly along the unfamiliar path. The trees seemed to close in around her.

"Mirian!" She called, but the only response was the snap of twigs and the rustle of leaves beneath her feet.

After a while of walking around the woods with no success, she shifted into her brown wolf and dashed through the woods, sniffing the air for Mirian’s scent.

She tried mind-linking her but the connection was stuttering and breaking, meaning she was in the woods, but not close.

Kira’s ears perked up, and she halted, her nose twitching as she homed in on every scent she could in the woods.

After a while of shuffling through the woods and sniffing the air, She suddenly took off in a sprint, her paws barely making a sound on the forest floor. The connection was still shaky, but Kira could sense Mirian’s presence. She burst through the woods, into a clearing and suddenly, Mirian was in sight...

Seated on the cliff’s edge, Mirian’s back was turned to Kira, her slender form silhouetted against the breathtaking vista. Her head rested gently on the Zeta’s shoulder, gazing at the view, as they talked.

’Mirian!’ Kira’s wolf growled in Mirian’s mind.

Mirian’s head jerked up, her eyes snapping back, towards Kira as the wolf’s mental call shattered the peaceful atmosphere. Zeta Detroit had already felt Kira’s presence a long time ago, but didn’t care about the intruder, but now that his little one was startled, he suddenly cared.
