Chapter 92: Amusement park - 2••
"No, Silas, you look absolutely fine, and it’s not even childish. It actually suits you."
I was also looking in the mirror, and honestly, I thought I looked hella ugly. That’s why I was about to take off the headband when Jeren suddenly grabbed my hand.
"No, please don’t take it off. Let’s at least take a selfie first."
"Why a selfie, Mr. Jeren? And you still haven’t told me what you wanted to talk about."
My ice cream was melting, so I quickly started eating it and glanced at Jeren, waiting for his answer. But he remained silent, looking around instead of replying.
"Let’s go on the roller coaster first, then we’ll talk."
Well, I also wanted to go on the roller coaster, so I didn’t refuse. We both stepped out of the shop, and I quickly finished my ice cream. Just then—
"Oh! Sir, you’re here too?"
It was Ciel’s voice. The moment I heard it, I turned to look at him. He was walking toward us, smiling like he wasn’t the most annoying person in my life.
"Mr. Jeren, let’s go over there quickly."
I grabbed Jeren’s hand and pulled him away before Ciel could even start talking. He was left standing there, unable to say a word.
After that, we went on many rides—three times each. It was so much fun. Jeren was actually a nice and gentle man...
Before I even realized it, evening had arrived. As our rides came to an end, we stood there, waiting for Shine.
"Mr. Jeren, can you tell me now?"
"Well, the party that’s happening soon... Would you like to go with me?"
A party? If I’m not wrong, he’s talking about that party—the one I already got an invitation to.
"Why are you asking me to go with you? Can’t you go alone? Or are you saying I can’t go alone?"
"No, Silas, it’s not like that. I just want to go with you. Don’t think too much—you’re the same age as my son."
Yeah, well, he’s right. He’s much older than me, so I shouldn’t overthink it. Besides, I was worried about how I’d go to that party since it would be my first time. If I go with him, it’ll be easier.
"Okay, but tell me what to wear beforehand, alright?" I said, making it sound like a deal.
"Okay, deal." He agreed, and we high-fived like friends.
I looked around for Ciel, but he was nowhere to be seen. When Shine arrived, I said goodbye to Jeren and left with him.
As soon as I got in the car—
"Silas, are you okay? That man didn’t do anything wrong to you, did he?"
I flinched at Shine’s sudden question, but then I realized he was just worried about me.
"What would he do? He didn’t do anything at all."
"Glad to hear that. But if anyone tries to take advantage of you, let me know—I’ll beat the shit out of them for you."
Does he think I have no strength or what? Is that why he’s saying this?
"Okay, I’ll tell you if anything happens."
He smiled and continued driving. Since we had eaten in the afternoon and it was already evening, we were starving.
That’s why we ordered food while sitting in the car in front of a hotel. In no time, the waiter came out and brought our food.
I handed Shine his portion and grabbed mine.
In five minutes, we reached home. To my surprise, Shine also followed me inside.
I thought he’d eat at his own house, but since he was already here, I couldn’t just kick him out. So, I let him stay.
After we finished eating, he sat on the floor without saying a word, which made things super awkward for me.
"Umm... aren’t you going back to your house?" I asked.
"No. I know you’re scared of being alone in the house—just like me. So if I stay here, will that bother you? I’ll sleep on the ground, just give me some pillows."
What is he saying? Does he even realize that when someone says something like this, it makes me feel super bad for them?
"There’s no need to sleep on the ground. There’s a guest room over there if you want to stay. But keep in mind, I don’t fully trust you yet. I was just betrayed by my own manager."
"So even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t be able to trust you so easily."
"Then, Silas, I’ll do my best to make you trust me."
Since he was about to stay in my house—just like Nekol—I had to tell him that. And now he’s saying he’ll earn my trust? Well, I’ll see how that goes.
He made himself comfortable in the guest room and didn’t even lock the door while sleeping.
I watched TV for a few more minutes, and when I was about to go to sleep, I peeked into Shine’s room. He was already asleep.
Man, he’s a fast sleeper. How can someone fall asleep so quickly?
Well, I was feeling really sleepy too, so I went to my room. For some reason, knowing someone else was in the house made me feel relieved. Still, I locked my door—just in case.
I jumped onto my bed without even glancing at my phone and instantly fell asleep.
---
The next morning, I woke up to noise coming from outside. I quickly got out of bed, yawning, and opened my door—only to see Lysander standing at the entrance while Shine stood in front of him, blocking his way.
"You can’t come in. Silas isn’t awake yet. And how can you just barge into an Omega’s house?"
"Hey, did your
Why is Shine stopping Lysander? Don’t tell me it’s for my safety... but I have no reason to fear Lysander.
"Shine, let him in."
As soon as I spoke, both of them turned to look at me. Lysander immediately rushed inside.
"My babe, Silas!"
He ran straight toward me, suddenly grabbed me by the waist, and picked me up—spinning me around in the air.
