Chapter 91: Amusement park - 1

Silas’s POV

As we sat down and the food was served in front of us,

"Wait, Silas! How is your abdomen injury? I totally forgot about that and even pushed you harder during the workout!"

"My injury is a lot better now. It’s been a week, and the wound has already healed. It wasn’t that deep anyway."

He showed concern for me, which was nice, but I still couldn’t let my guard down.

"By the way, I watched your first drama. You were such a badass in it! I really liked it. I’ve actually become a fan of yours since I saw it!"

"Ohh, you’re flattering me. I didn’t even do that well in that drama."

As we ate, I noticed that he kept looking around while chewing. But instead of properly eating, the food ended up on his lips rather than inside his mouth.

I had no idea what he was doing, but every time he took a bite, some of it fell onto the table.

He clearly lacked table manners, but that was okay. Mistakes happen. So, I grabbed a tissue and wiped his lips.

As I did that, he looked straight into my eyes.

Then, he took the tissue from my hand, wiped his mouth properly, and threw it in the trash bin.

"Thank you, Silas, for helping me! Oh, and did you know a new horror movie just got released yesterday? I read the reviews, and apparently, everyone in the theater was terrified while watching it."

"I really wanted to go, but I was too scared to go alone... But now that I met you, do you wanna come with me, Silas?"

A horror movie...? I’m scared of ghosts. But at the same time, I love watching horror movies, even though they terrify me. It’s been years since I last watched one.

I’m honestly bored of being scared by the same old ghosts. It’s time to watch a new movie so I can be scared of some new ghosts.

"Yeah, sure. I’d like to watch it too."

As soon as I said that, he started smiling. And after that, we continued eating.

Once we finished, we walked out of the hotel, but suddenly, my phone rang. I picked up the call—it was Jeren.

(Jeren) "Silas, are you free today?"

(Silas) "Why are you asking?"

(Jeren) "Let’s meet."

I didn’t know why he suddenly wanted to meet me. But from what I’ve seen, he doesn’t seem like a bad person.

(Silas) "Alright then, come to Mr. Damon’s company if you have something to talk about."

(Jeren) "Are you joking? How can I come there? They’ll think I’m spying on his company! Come on, don’t be like this. Let’s meet at the amusement park instead."

(Silas) "Amusement park? Why there?"

(Jeren) "I recently built this amusement park. If you come, I won’t even charge you for anything."

(Silas) "I have my manager with me, so send me the location. We’ll be there."

I hung up the call and glanced at Shine.

"What happened?" he asked.

"Let’s go to the amusement park."

"Huh? Now?"

"Yeah. Here’s the location."

I showed him the location, and he nodded without asking anything. He simply got into the car, and I followed.

As we drove, I couldn’t understand why Jeren was calling me to an amusement park. But since he wasn’t charging us, I might as well go on all the rides.

After a while, Shine stopped the car. I glanced around and my eyes widened. On my left side stood a massive amusement park.

To be honest, seeing how luxurious and enormous it was, I was a little confused. How could he let us ride for free?

Wait... he must be filthy rich. That explains it.

As Shine and I got out of the car, another car pulled up behind us. I didn’t care much, but then the car doors opened, and Ciel stepped out.

Seeing him made my blood boil. I wanted to kill him.

What the hell was he doing here? Did Jeren call him too?

"Oh, Silas! You’re here too? I didn’t know you were coming. Or... are you following me?"

"Who’s following whom? I can see that clearly. And by the way, did you forget about those slaps? After that beating, you weren’t even able to talk, panting like you were about to die at any moment."

I mocked him, and judging by his expression, my words really hit him hard. He was getting furious.

"Shine, let’s go."

I turned around to head inside.

"Oh? Wasn’t he your manager—the one who was a serial killer? I wouldn’t be surprised if you were a criminal just like him. Why don’t you just die?"

I quickly turned to Ciel.

"I’m not in the mood to die yet. But if you want to die that badly, go ahead."

As I spoke, I took a few steps forward.

When we reached the entrance, the guard let us in. But as Ciel tried to follow, the guard stopped him and asked for an entry fee.

I scoffed at the sight.

Just then, Jeren arrived.

"Silas, you’re here! And... is he your new manager?"

"Yes, Mr. Jeren. So, what do you want to talk about?"

"Let’s go ride some rides first."

Shine was about to come with us, but Jeren stopped him.

"I want to talk about something personal with Silas. You can enjoy yourself here in the meantime."

Now I was really curious about what Jeren wanted to talk about.

I followed him, and he took me to an ice cream shop. To my surprise, he bought me ice cream—my favorite flavor.

"Huh? Mr. Jeren, this is my favorite flavor. How did you know?"

"I just know."

Then, he suddenly grabbed a mouse-ear headband and placed it on my head.

It looked ridiculously childish.

When I glanced at myself in the mirror, I looked like a kid. Meanwhile, Jeren was smiling at me.

"Mr. Jeren, don’t you think this is way too childish?"
