Chapter 90: New Manager
Chapter 90: New Manager
Silas’s POV
As I saw them, I tried to sit up, but just then, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. That’s when I realized—I was stabbed. That’s why I’m feeling this pain.
"Shorty, you’re still injured. Don’t try to move."
Seeing them by my side, I had a strange sense of déjà vu. I had seen this scene before—when I was kidnapped.
And now, I got stabbed. I think bad luck is completely on my side now.
"Silas!"
Hearing my name, I turned and noticed Lysander. He looked even more handsome than ever.
A smile spread on my lips as I saw him. It had been a few days since I last saw him, and honestly, I kind of missed his hug.
"Lysander," I called out his name.
As soon as I did, I felt gazes on me. Glancing at Damon and Theron, I saw them both staring at me.
"What are you two looking at me like that for?" I asked. Their gazes were making me uncomfortable, of course.
Hearing me, Lysander pushed Theron from his seat and sat there instead, grabbing my hand.
"Babe, are you okay? If you’re hurting anywhere, just let me know, okay?"
"I’m fine now, don’t worry," I smiled.
Just then, Lysander stood up, sat on the bed, and embraced me from behind. As my back touched his chest, I could hear his heartbeat.
It was thumping so fast—just like mine. I closed my eyes, feeling our heartbeats sync.
But when I opened them, I saw Theron and Damon staring at me, their eyes filled with silent questions, as if asking what exactly I was doing right now.
I quickly pulled away from Lysander’s embrace.
"First of all, what are you all doing here?"
"Silas, how come you always end up getting hurt when you’re not with us?"
"Mr. Damon, are you saying I have a knack for getting hurt or something?"
I stared at Damon. I didn’t like what he said. But then again, he was my boss, so I should at least show him some respect. I looked away.
"Mr. Damon, aren’t you a busy person? You don’t need to stay here with me. You can go ahead and leave."
I said it in a very polite tone.
"You want me to leave? How cruel are you?"
Well, it’s not that I’m cruel. I was just telling him to leave since he’s a busy person.
"Silas, where are you staying now? I heard that because of the kidnapping case, you can’t live in your old house."
I glanced back at Lysander after hearing him.
"In the artist dorm."
"No, you can’t live in that artist dorm again. You can stay with me until you find a nice house for yourself."
"No, Lysander. I can manage on my own. But what about my manager? My manager position is vacant now."
My previous manager was a serial killer who used to kill Omegas for no reason.
Why... why can’t I have a trustworthy person in my life? Someone who will never betray me. Do I not deserve nice people?
Later, I met Atlas’s brother, Evan. He woke up for five minutes before falling asleep again. Still, I was happy that he was getting better.
Damon also lent me some money to rent a house in a nice building with good security. And then, once again, Damon called me to the company to meet my new manager.
After Nekol, I don’t think I’ll be able to fully trust any manager. But I won’t show it. At the very least, I can pretend in front of my new manager that I trust him. Just to see if he does anything weird.
I knocked on the door and entered the office.
As I walked in, I saw a guy—an Omega—standing in front of me.
His hair was black, styled in a medium-length mullet, and his eyes were violet. He wore brown pants and a cream-colored shirt. Despite being an Omega, he was much taller than me, and his build was strong.
Honestly, he didn’t look much like an Omega—unless someone sniffed his pheromones.
As soon as he saw me, he walked over and bowed.
"Hello, sir. My name is Shine," he said with a big smile and a bright face.
"Shine, no need to be formal. You can call me by my name. I’m Silas."
He seemed as bright as his name.
"Silas, he is Shine, your new manager," Damon introduced him to me.
After that, we left the office because I wanted to go to the gym. Surprisingly, Shine followed me there. Nekol never used to come to the gym with me.
"Shine, you don’t need to come with me to the gym," I told him.
"Why, Silas? How can you exercise alone? Of course, you need a trainer! Don’t worry, I’ll be the one for you."
What? A trainer? Do I need one? No, I don’t think so. I can exercise on my own just fine.
When I was about to start, he suddenly stopped me.
"Silas, what are you doing? First, you need to stretch. Come here now, we’ll do stretching."
Stretching? I’ve never done that before exercising. And now he’s telling me to stretch, and that he’ll do it with me?
I walked over to him, and he helped me stretch. He also did the stretches himself. After that, we exercised together, and honestly, it was a new experience—exercising with someone.
We laughed and challenged each other while doing push-ups, competing to see who could do more. Of course, Shine won. He had great physique.
An hour passed before I even realized it.
After that, we both lay on the gym floor, exhausted.
"Wow... I enjoyed that a lot. It was amazing. I didn’t know exercising with someone could be this fun," I said, panting.
He was also panting beside me.
"Silas, you have good stamina. I like it. Let’s go eat something after this."
"Yeah, let’s go."
His personality was the complete opposite of Nekol’s. And he also liked eating after exercising—just like me.
So, we went to grab something to eat. He knew some places where the food was really delicious.
