Chapter 88: Serial killer- 4
Chapter 88: Serial killer- 4
Silas’s POV
I didn’t even take a bath today—I was just sitting beside Evan like he was my own brother. Well, it doesn’t matter whether he is my brother or not because humanity comes first.
I don’t know why, but I felt like if I left the room , who knows, the killer might come.
That’s why I wasn’t leaving the room. But then, the police called Atlas again to ask him some questions. When he left, I stayed with Evan.
Three hours later, he came back.
"What did the police ask? And did they find out who the killer was?" I asked as Atlas sat down. He looked damn tired.
"They haven’t found the killer yet. They don’t even know what the killer looks like because none of the victims saw his face."
"Didn’t one victim survive? Did he not see anything either?"
I had read in the news that, thankfully, one victim had survived. Even if he didn’t see the face, he might have noticed something—like they do in the movies—a tattoo, a scar, anything.
"The only one who survived was killed the very next day—in the hospital. And no one knows when the killer sneaked in and finished him off. That’s why I have to protect my brother at all costs."
My eyes widened as I listened to Atlas. I had no idea that the only survivor had also been killed.
This is shocking... and terrifying. Because of those reporters, the killer must have found out that Evan is still alive.
And those reporters were being so damn annoying! Why the hell did they mention the hospital’s name where Evan is being treated? Should we ask Damon for help and get some bodyguards?
No, no, what am I even thinking? I can’t ask him for help. I’ll stay here with Evan—he won’t need any bodyguards. Even if that killer comes, I’ll beat the shit out of him myself.
"Silas, you must be tired sitting here all day. Do you want to go for a walk?"
" And I also asked if you had any shoots today—they said you don’t. But you do have an invitation to a party where all the celebrities, directors, producers, singers, dancers, influencers, and CEOs will be."
"They sent the invitation in your name. The party is in 20 days."
"Woah... After becoming an actor, this is the first time I’ll be going to a party where everyone’s together. You know, I’m really excited right now!"
"Congratulations, Silas."
Atlas said it, but there was no happiness on his face. Of course, how could he be happy when his younger brother was still in a coma? And no one knew when he would wake up.
I went silent too after that .
Even though I’m a really lazy person who doesn’t do anything, I always feel exhausted, like I just want to sleep. And that’s exactly what I did—I fell asleep in the afternoon.
When I opened my eyes, it was already evening. But then... I felt like someone was standing behind me.
I looked ahead—Atlas wasn’t there.
I quickly turned around—and saw Nekol standing behind me.
"Huh? Nekol! When did you come back? And how are you here?"
"Atlas told me everything. The moment I heard about it, I rushed back. How could I take more leave when so much had happened?"
Just yesterday, I had doubted Nekol, thinking he was the one who gave my enemies the keys and told them I’d be alone at night.
But seeing him here today, all my doubts disappeared. I don’t think Nekol could do something like that.
"But when did Atlas tell you? And sorry, I thought I shouldn’t bother you—that’s why I didn’t tell you myself."
Nekol stepped forward and held my hand.
"It’s okay. I know you were busy, and you had a hard time too. Thank you for staying safe while I wasn’t here."
Nekol sat on the couch and pulled out a pack of wafers from his bag. The moment he took them out, I quickly grabbed one and started eating.
"How long have you been staying here? You look pale. I think you need some fresh air. Why don’t you take a walk outside? I’m sure you’ll feel better." Nekol suggested.
"No, I can’t leave this room. I need to protect Evan. Who knows? The killer might come after him again, and I won’t let that happen."
"There are a lot of people here. How could the killer even get inside? Wouldn’t security stop him at the entrance? And besides, I’m here too, aren’t I?"
Yeah... he had a point. The hospital security checks every Alpha and won’t let any suspicious people in. And since this morning, I hadn’t even stepped out of the room.
Maybe taking a walk in the hospital garden would help me regain my energy. That way, even if I do come face-to-face with the killer, I’ll be stronger.
"Okay... but be careful. Don’t let any strangers inside. I’ll be back soon."
"Yeah, go ahead."
I stretched and walked out of the room. But then... I realized I didn’t know where the garden was. So, I asked one of the nurses, and he showed me the way.
As I was heading there, I spotted Atlas. He was standing in the hallway, talking on the phone. So, I walked toward him first.
"Atlas."
He glanced at me, quickly saying he’d call back, and then turned toward me.
"Huh? Silas? You’re here? What about Evan? Are the doctors dressing his wounds?"
"Nope. Nekol’s here, so he told me to take a walk. Nothing to worry about."
"It’s good that Nekol came... but wait, when did you tell him about everything?"
As Atlas’s words sank in, my eyes widened.
"Wait... you didn’t call Nekol and tell him everything? Cuz he said you were the one who called him."
"No... I didn’t call him. I didn’t even have the time. But wait—you didn’t tell him either? Then how did he know and come here?"
Both of our eyes widened in shock.
My heart started pounding.
Without wasting another second, we both ran back to Evan’s room.
I could only pray that what we were thinking was wrong.
