Chapter 87: Serial killer- 3
Silas’a POV
As I called him, he didn’t answer.
I lowered my phone from my ear and glanced around. It was too quiet. I knew this was a hospital, but still, the silence felt like it was staring at me.
As I walked through the corridor, my footsteps echoed in the emptiness. After a moment, I returned to the room, and my eyes immediately went to Jeren, who was still in the same position as before. I sighed and sat beside Evan again.
Life is really unpredictable—you never know what’s going to happen and when...
The next day, when I opened my eyes, I found myself lying on the couch. A grey-colored blanket covered me. I sat up, yawning, and cracked my stiff neck.
Just then, a commotion from outside reached my ears.
The room door was locked, and there was no one inside except me and Evan. I got down from the couch and glanced at Evan—he looked better, but he still hadn’t woken up.
I walked towards the door, about to open it to see what was happening outside, when suddenly, my phone rang.
I turned around and saw my phone lying on the couch. Picking it up, I checked the caller ID—it was Damon.
—(Silas) "Hello?"
—(Damon) "Hello... Where are you right now?"
—(Silas) "You must already know where I am, don’t you?"
—(Damon) "Is his brother alright now? I mean, is he safe?"
So, he really does know where I am and what happened yesterday... Wait, Atlas did mention that Damon’s bodyguards were nearby. It must have been them who informed him.
—(Silas) "He’s safe. But, Mr. Damon, don’t you think you’re going too far by keeping an eye on me like I’m some kind of criminal?"
—(Damon) "What are you saying? I’m not keeping an eye on you—I’m just worried. Oh, and your luggage is with me right now."
Wait... my luggage?
Oh right! Last night, after hearing about Evan, Atlas and I rushed into the car, and I completely forgot about my luggage. But now that he mentioned it, I remembered.
—(Silas) "Ah, yes. Thank you for that, Mr. Damon. But I think I’ll have to hang up now."
—(Damon) "Why?"
—(Silas) "I’m busy."
I hung up because there was nothing else to talk about.
After ending the call, I sat on the couch and glanced around. Just then, the door suddenly opened.
My eyes were fixed on the entrance as Atlas walked in, carrying breakfast. The delicious aroma immediately filled the room.
"Oh, Silas, you’re awake... Good timing! I brought breakfast for you."
"Thank you, Atlas."
Atlas came over and placed the food on the table beside the couch. As he unpacked it, the mouthwatering smell hit my nose.
"Wow, this looks so delicious!"
I reached out and took a bite of the ramen. It was incredibly tasty.
"Atlas, why aren’t you eating?"
Since I was the only one eating, I asked him. When I did, he finally started eating as well.
"By the way, where is Mr. Jeren? And what was that commotion outside earlier?"
I asked because I hadn’t seen Jeren here, and the noise earlier had felt strange.
"Mr. Jeren is a very busy person, so he left—he had some work to do. And..."
Atlas hesitated for a moment before continuing.
"The police came earlier to ask questions because this case involves the same serial killer. News reporters were with them too. They created an article about the victim surviving... But then Mr. Damon called and said he was removing all the articles about my brother from the internet."
Well, that’s a relief. If that killer finds out that Evan is still alive, who knows what he’ll do...
"Silas, you can go back to the artist dorm. I don’t like that you’re here instead of resting."
"No, I want to stay with Evan. It’s my choice, so don’t worry about it."
Atlas sighed but didn’t argue further. He cleaned up the table, and just then, a nurse stepped into the room. My eyes immediately landed on her.
"Who is Silas here?" she asked, looking straight at me.
She already knew it was me, but she was still pretending—was she trying to humiliate me?
Atlas stood up and approached her.
"What do you need from Silas? Can you tell me?" Atlas asked, maintaining a professional tone.
"Someone is here to meet Silas, but when we said no, he started making a scene in the hospital."
Wait... someone came to meet me? And they’re causing a commotion?
I remained seated as Atlas went out to check what was happening.
As I waited, I felt a bit nervous. Who could it be? Was it Damon? Theron? Or... someone else?
Just then, the door opened again, and Atlas walked back inside.
"Atlas, what happened? Who was it?"
"It’s nothing. It was just your sasaeng fan causing a commotion to meet you, but don’t worry—we told him to leave."
Atlas’s expression didn’t match his words. He was lying.
It wasn’t a fan.
"Atlas, don’t lie. Tell me who it really was. And if you dare to lie again, this is going to be very hard for you."
Hearing my tone, Atlas looked at me and then sighed before finally speaking.
"It was your hater. He came here to kill you. He had a knife and was threatening the hospital staff, saying that if they didn’t call you out, he would kill the patients."
What the hell...?
Now who is this hater? And why does he want to kill me?
Did I ever fight with him? Did I offend him somehow?
No, wait...
Where the hell did this hater even born from?
Yeah, I know there’s only one way to be born, but where did he pop up from all of a sudden?
Why does everyone want to mess with me?
Someone wants to kidnap me to drain my blood and satisfy their lust, and now this guy wants to kill me—without even giving a reason!
I mean wow!
