Mated to Four Alphas -
Chapter 86: Serial killer- 2
Chapter 86: Serial killer- 2
Silas’s POV
When that kid’s head was resting on my lap, I was really worried about him. His injuries looked like they had been caused by a hard weapon. But why would someone do this to such an adorable boy? that serial killer... He should burn in hell.
"Evan will be fine... Evan will be fine..." Atlas kept muttering to himself.
Atlas’s face had become so dull—there was no expression at all, like he was hollow inside. He kept glancing back at Evan again and again.
I couldn’t even comfort him because I didn’t know what to say in this kind of situation. My fingers kept going under Evan’s nose repeatedly, checking his breathing again and again. because he wasn’t moving at all since he fainted.
I could see why Atlas was so worried—he loves his brother so much. For Atlas, Evan is his entire family, and it’s the same for Evan.
And when I saw what had happened, only questions kept popping into my mind
When did that killer sneak into Evan’s house? Did Evan even go out or something? And wait a moment... I remember reading in the news that there was only one survivor, but he didn’t see the killer’s face. It means the killer hid his face.
Was the killer still inside the house when we arrived? But the main door was open, which means the killer must have left, thinking Evan was dead.
I sighed in relief as we finally reached the hospital. Atlas carried Evan inside while I followed, my coat stained with blood. Jeren and I rushed in behind them.
At first, no one noticed us.
"Help! Someone is injured!" I shouted with all my strength.
Hearing my shou, the nurses rushed over and took Evan to the doctor.
As we followed, the doctor looked at Evan’s condition but suddenly stepped out of the room without even starting his checkup.
What the hell? What was that doctor doing?!
A nurse whispered something in his ear, and then the doctor walked straight toward us.
"Are you the victim’s guardian?" he asked.
Atlas stepped forward. "Yes! I’m his older brother. Doctor, please save my brother! Please..."
"We’ll talk about that later. This victim is linked to the recent serial killings, so we have to contact the police. Once they arrive and give us permission, we will begin the treatment."
What the fuck was this doctor saying right now? He would start the treatment only after the police arrived? Did he want Evan to die?!
"Doctor, do you even realize what you’re saying right now?"
I couldn’t stop myself from speaking.
"Hey, even if you’re a celebrity, who do you think you are to question me?" the doctor snapped, looking at me like I had no right to speak—as if I disgusted him. Damn, his attitude was pissing me off.
"Excuse me—" I was about to argue when Jeren suddenly stepped forward and grabbed the doctor’s collar. I was shocked.
Without thinking twice, Jeren slammed the doctor against the wall, still gripping his collar. His patience had clearly run out, and he looked ready to take down anyone who got in his way.
"As a doctor, what is your first priority?" Jeren asked coldly.
"S-Saving the patient..." the doctor stuttered.
"Then what the hell are you doing right now? Do you think delaying treatment will save your patient?"
The doctor shook his head, terrified. His arrogant attitude disappeared in an instant. Now, he looked like a scared little chick.
"I-I’ll go and start that omega’s treatment right now!" His voice trembled as he rushed back into the room.
Still, I didn’t trust that doctor, so I kept watching every procedure they performed on Evan, making sure they treated his wounds properly.
Honestly, we got lucky that Mr. Jeren was with us. He helped us get here on time, and he was the one who threatened the doctor into action. But even so, I was sweating inside. I didn’t want anything to happen to Evan—I just wanted him to be safe.
After an hour, the doctor finally stepped out. He glanced at me but ignored me completely, walking straight to Jeren and Atlas, who were sitting on a bench in front of the room.
"He’s out of danger now, but we can’t say when he will wake up."
"What do you mean by that?" Atlas asked, his face gloomy like he could cry at any moment.
While they talked, I quietly stepped into the room where they had taken Evan.
I stood beside his bed. He looked a lot better now, but earlier, when he was covered in blood... my heart ached. Why... Why does this always happen to omegas?
This is exactly why I don’t like alphas. And after today, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to like them again.
I sat on the chair beside Evan’s bed and gently held his hand. His hands were so small... just like him.
As I sat there, my eyes slowly closed, and before I realized it, I had fallen asleep.
When I woke up, I quickly sat up, moving my face away from the bed. That’s when I felt something on my back. I looked down—it was a coat. Jeren’s coat. I quickly glanced around.
Jeren was sitting on the sofa, his eyes closed, his head resting against the wall. But Atlas was nowhere to be found.
I stood up and quietly covered Jeren with his own coat before stepping toward the door. I peeked outside, looking in both directions. The hallway was silent.
I stepped out of the room, searching for Atlas. He was nowhere to be seen. Where was he? What was he planning to do? I just hoped he wasn’t blaming himself for what happened to his brother.
What happened years ago... and what happened today... They were both just unfortunate events.
But where could he be?
Was he inside the bathroom?
I checked, but
he wasn’t there.
I pulled out my phone and dialed his number.
I should have called him earlier.
