Chapter 62: Mates- 2••

Silas’s POV

"What the hell are you all doing? Let me go!"

I shout and shout, snapping my eyes open. I realize it was a dream—a damn dream. Sitting up, I touch my forehead, panting. That dream felt so real. And what does it even mean that they are my mates? More importantly, why the hell did I have a dream like that?

Goosebumps rise on my skin as I think about it. Why were those three brothers in my dream? And with them... Lysander was there too. Maybe I’ve been spending too much time with them, and that’s why I’m having these kinds of dreams. But how can I be so shameless, dreaming about my own brother-in-laws? They are my brother’s mates!

Maybe it’s because I’m an adult now. I should probably date someone. That would be nice.

"You finally woke up, Sleeping Beauty."

I flinch at the voice and glance in its direction. Damon is standing there, adjusting his glasses, his gaze fixed on me.

"What are you doing in my room?" I ask.

Of course, I have to ask if someone sneaks into my room. And now I remember—this morning, when I saw my articles and everything. I was still sleepy, so I closed my eyes for just a moment... but ended up falling asleep and having that awful dream.

Now, looking at Damon, I don’t know why, but he looks... handsome. He’s standing in front of my wardrobe, holding my teddy bear.

"Hey, that’s my teddy!"

"It’s yours? Do you like teddies?" he asks, taking slow steps toward me.

I quickly pull the blanket over myself, staring at him.

"Whether I like it or not, what does that have to do with you? And why are you in my room? Don’t you know there are boundaries we shouldn’t cross?"

He reaches toward me and suddenly starts sniffing the air. I watch him, confused about what he’s doing, but I grab my teddy first. The moment I do, Damon’s sharp gaze locks onto me. Without warning, he throws the teddy bear behind him and climbs onto the bed.

"What are you doing?" I ask, but he doesn’t reply. Instead, he suddenly pulls the blanket off me, wraps a hand behind my neck, and pulls me closer to him. The scent of the forest aura thickens—he’s still wearing that damn perfume.

I push against his chest, trying to get away, but for some reason, my body feels weak in front of him. Worse, a part of me wants him to touch me. The moment that realization hits me, I snap back—What the fúck am I even thinking?!

"Hey, pervert... let me go!"

But when I glance at Damon, his eyes look strange, like he’s not himself. Like he’s lost.

"Damon, can you hear me?"

He doesn’t respond. Instead, he leans closer to my neck. His breath tickles my skin, sending shivers down my spine. No one has ever touched me like this before. I’m shocked—I’ve never seen Damon act like this.

Then, suddenly, I feel something warm and wet. I glance down in horror—he’s licking my neck. Like my neck is on some kind of menu.

The way he drags his tongue over my skin, my neckline... it’s making me too hot. I don’t even know what to say.

While licking me, he starts sniffing again.

"Your pheromones smell so good... I want more," he murmurs before pressing his lips to my neck, smooching over my skin.

This—this is beyond the limit. Instead of pushing him away, I shove myself back. Damon remains sitting there, frozen, like a statue.

Then, suddenly, he clutches his forehead. His eyes widen as he looks at me, as if I was the one who did something to him.

"Silas, are you okay? I... I didn’t mean to do that. I think I’m losing my mind these days."

"Your excuses aren’t very convincing, though."

"It’s not an excuse. I really didn’t want to do anything."

I slip on my fluffy slippers and run my fingers through my hair, trying to calm myself down.

"If I hadn’t pushed you away, would you have raped me?"

Damon’s eyes widen, and he quickly gets off the bed, stepping toward me. Instinctively, my body moves back.

Seeing my reaction, he stops in place. To be honest, I’m still in shock—first from that dream, and now from what just happened in real life. When he touched me, it didn’t feel weird, but it felt wrong.

"Silas, do you hate my touch?"

"Mr. Damon, how can you be this shameless when you already have a mate? How can you try to flirt with me? I don’t understand—are all Alphas like this?"

"What do you mean by ’I have a mate’? Have I ever told you I have a mate? Have you ever seen me with an Omega?"

I know he never told me himself. And no, I’ve never seen him with an Omega. But I saw it with my own eyes at their mansion—Orian is their mate.

Then why are they acting like they don’t have mates?

Even Theron said he doesn’t consider my brother his mate just because they watched him grow up. He said they think of him as nothing more than a younger brother...

"Don’t ever touch me without my permission. And why are you here?"

"You sure are the wild one... And I was here to meet you, of course. I don’t need a reason to see you."

"Still, you can’t just barge into someone else’s bedroom like this. That’s not proper behavior."

As I said that, a smile spread across his lips, and he chuckled.

Just then, there was a knock on my door—it was already open. I glanced over and saw Atlas standing there, looking at me and Damon. Damon casually gestured for him to come inside, and as he did, Damon spoke.

"I know you already met him, considering he’s your bodyguard, but it’s still my duty to introduce him properly. Silas, this is Atlas. He’s very good at his job, and he will protect you with his life."

I stared at Atlas for a moment. For some reason, I still don’t trust him...He seems strange.
