Chapter 60: A new bodyguard- 2••
Silas’s POV
As my index finger scrolled on the screen of my phone, the comments and likes seemed endless. My chest felt heavy—out of happiness, of course.
I stared at Stargram for a few more minutes before switching to the chat.
I had messages waiting for me, but since I’d been busy, I hadn’t checked them. Now that I had time, I decided to take a look.
Relaxing my shoulders, I leaned back against the seat, settling in comfortably. As soon as I opened my messages, I saw that four people had sent me texts.
At the top of the list was Lysander, followed by Damon in second place, Theron in third, and finally.
the first person I ever chatted with on Stargram—my fan. No, my first fan. He had sent me a message yesterday.
When I opened his chat, there was only a sticker saying "Good night." So, I replied with a simple "Good afternoon."
The moment I sent the message and exited the chat, I saw that he had already read it—within seconds. It was almost like he had been waiting for my reply.
A moment later, he started typing, and soon, a smiling emoji appeared.
I didn’t know what to say next because I wasn’t the type to start conversations. Instead, I opened Lysander’s chat. He had sent me a message just a few minutes ago.
[Lysander: I miss you so much... Why aren’t you here with me? If you were here, I wouldn’t be this bored.]
Reading his message, a smile spread across my lips. My eyes lingered on it for a moment before I decided to reply.
[Silas: Hii]
I figured just sending a simple "Hii" was enough. He was probably busy, even if he had just texted me a few minutes ago. So, I moved on to Damon’s message.
All he had sent was a single dot.
I had no idea what he meant by that. Was there some kind of hidden message behind it? Or was it just him being weird? Understanding the "dot language" wasn’t my thing. Sometimes, I seriously wondered if Damon was just a naturally strange person.
Now, only one chat was left—Theron’s. When I opened it, I saw:
[Theron: Hey, wassup... Let’s play a game. I’ll tell you something about myself, and you’ll say something about yourself.]
The funny thing was, as soon as he suggested the game, he started playing it alone.
[Theron: I am a prince and an Alpha who is handsome. Now, I told you—your turn.]
[Theron: Hey... hey, why aren’t you replying? Don’t tell me you chickened out. If you don’t reply within a minute, you’ll have to take the punishment.]
He had sent all these messages in the morning. Theron was the weirdest of all weirdos—he played that game alone and even gave me a punishment, knowing I was offline. And what did he say about himself? That he’s a prince and an Alpha? Like I didn’t already know that. Wow, what a groundbreaking discovery.
After reading his messages, I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. I started giggling like crazy.
"What are you reading that’s making you this happy?"
Atlas’s voice interrupted my giggles, making me glance at him.
"What did you say?" I asked, even though I had heard him clearly.
"I said, you look really happy. If you’re reading a joke, you can share it with me—I’ll laugh too."
For a moment, I found it strange. Even if I laughed or cried, Nekol never asked about it unless he saw me crying over some drama.
And here was Atlas—his first day at work, and he already wanted to know what I was watching that had me laughing this much.
To be honest, I didn’t care what this bodyguard did. But he should mind his own business. I hated when people stuck their noses into my personal matters.
"Atlas, you’re a bodyguard, right?"
"Yeah, but why are you asking?"
"Then you must have trained to be one. And I don’t think they teach you in training to keep an eye on your artist and see what he’s doing, what he’s watching, and why he’s laughing. Your job is just to protect me. So just do your job."
I noticed him glancing at me through the rearview mirror.
"I’m sorry. I won’t ask again."
He focused on driving, while I turned to look out the window. After a few moments, I glanced at Atlas again—he was adjusting the mirror, still glancing at me while driving.
I didn’t like his behavior. But I decided to remain silent. Damon had assigned him to me, so I wanted to see what Damon had been thinking when he picked this bodyguard for me.
Even without looking directly at him, I knew Atlas was still sneaking glances at me. Soon, we arrived at my destination, and he dropped me off.
I grabbed my phone and stepped out of the car. As I did, Atlas also got out.
"Why are you getting out?"
"It’s my job to protect you. Of course, I’m doing my job."
"There’s no need for you to follow me into my apartment. I’m not in danger in my own house, so you can leave now."
I stepped into the elevator after saying that.
When I entered the apartment, I saw a note saying Nekol had gone to the grocery store. That meant I was home alone.
Since I had nothing else to think about, my mind kept drifting back to that bodyguard.
Just then—
DING DONG!
The sudden sound of the doorbell startled me. I had been too lost in thought.
Thinking Nekol had returned, I quickly opened the door—only to see Atlas standing in front of me.
How did he know which floor I lived on? And which apartment?
How did he even get here?
So many questions ran through my mind as I stared at him.
"How did you get here... No, first of all, why did you follow me when I already told you not to?"
