Chapter 54: In the apartment - 2••

Damon’s POV

Last night, while I was working, I suddenly got a message from my assistant saying that someone from the Ironclaw Pack wanted to meet me. That’s Silas’s pack, right? I was about to ask who it was when Nekol called and said that Silas had gone missing.

Hearing that, I forgot everything else. Negative thoughts started hovering over me. I know Silas—he’s not the type to go anywhere without saying anything.

When I met Nekol, he showed me a message from Silas, saying he was at a convenience store.

Why? Why did he go to a convenience store—and alone? I know Silas is strong enough to take down even an Alpha, but he doesn’t realize how dangerous the people lurking around can be.

I quickly asked the security department to check his location, but his mobile was switched off. When we checked the CCTV footage of the convenience store, I saw Theron was with Silas. Seeing that, I sighed in relief. I don’t know why, but I felt reassured. How and why was Theron with Silas? Did they plan to meet there, or did Silas really just go there to eat and bump into Theron? But then again... how does he even know Theron?

"No, we’re not. But why are you asking?"

I set my phone aside and glanced at Silas. He was dozing off, even though his phone was still on. Cute.

I stood up and walked over to him, gently touching his head.

He immediately woke up at my slight touch.

"Mr. Damon, why are you here? Weren’t you sitting over there?"

He glanced at where I had been sitting, then back at me, looking dumbfounded.

"Mr. Damon, are you doing some kind of magic trick? If not, then... did you teleport from there to here?"

I knelt in front of him and touched his forehead. He was hot. And definitely drunk.

"Silas, you should take a shower and go to sleep in your room. Otherwise, you’ll catch a cold."

"I don’t want to take a shower... and I can sleep here with everyone. I don’t often catch colds, so don’t worry about me. You should get some rest, too."

His voice was soft. He sounded adorable.

Suddenly, he placed both hands on my shoulders and started pushing me away.

"You’re too close, Mr. Damon. Maintain some distance, will you?"

He kept pushing me, but his touch felt as light as cotton. That’s why I wrapped my arms around his waist and fell backward, taking him down with me.

As soon as my back hit the ground, he nuzzled his face against my chest... and fell asleep.

I knew he was drunk, which was why he didn’t hit me. If he were sober, he probably would have slapped me. It’s not like I was taking advantage of him—I was just trying to balance myself when we fell. Who knew he’d fall asleep just like that?

He’s so light... I can barely feel him on top of me. His heartbeat is calm, but mine is pounding like crazy.

I held him, feeling the softness of his skin. This is the first time in my life I’m holding an Omega in my arms... and this feeling is incredible. I even wished I could take a picture of this moment to look at later.

I didn’t even realize when I fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up to some noise. As I opened my eyes, I saw Theron and Lysander sitting beside me, staring at me with wide eyes.

Theron was even taking pictures.

Seeing them, I was about to sit up, but then I realized—Silas was still sleeping on me.

"Mr. Damon, what is this? Why is Silas sleeping on you? Care to explain why you became his bed last night?"

This brat Lysander... is this how he talks?

Well, he never acts this way in front of others, but since we’re like brothers, I let it slide.

I gently patted Silas’s cheek to wake him up. As I touched him, he stirred a little before opening his eyes. Even after waking up, he took a full two minutes to process the situation.

And when he finally realized our position—and that both of them were staring at him—he quickly jumped away from me.

"Wh-What is this?! Why was I sleeping on you?!"

He looked completely shocked. Another new reaction from Silas today.

"Silas, don’t you remember what happened last night?"

He hurriedly stood up, still staring at me. "What happened last night? I don’t remember anything!"

"Well, you were pushing me, so when I fell, I took you down with me. But in the end, you were the one who fell asleep on me."

He seemed to be trying hard to remember, but I guess he’s the type who drinks and forgets everything.

Suddenly, he bowed in front of me.

I placed my hand on the ground and pushed myself up to stand.

"Silas, what are you doing?"

"I’m sorry, Mr. Damon. I’m not good at drinking. Please forgive me."

"You’re banned from drinking outside again."

"But I didn’t drink outside... but okay, if you say so. Anyway, when are you all leaving?"

I glanced at Theron and Lysander, who were still sitting on the ground, listening to our conversation.

"You two, get up. We’re leaving."

As soon as I said that, they both stood up.

Suddenly, Lysander walked over to Silas and hugged him.

"Before leaving, I wanted to hug you."

Instead of pushing him away, Silas hugged him back.

After that, Lysander stood beside me, and Theron walked up to Silas. He took Silas’s hand and kissed the back of his palm.

"Shorty, we’ll meet soon."

And with that, the three of us left.
