They both just looked at me but didn’t say anything, continuing their conversation. After five minutes, the red-haired guy opened the door and led us out. As we stepped outside...

"Wait, are you releasing us now?" I asked.

"No, I’m taking you to our boss to decide your future."

I didn’t say anything because Theron was also following the red-haired guy, so I followed as well. As we walked out, I noticed that many of the cells were empty—like no one else was there except for us.

As we moved forward, I saw a staircase—long and endless. The moment I stepped onto the first stair, Theron grabbed my hand and started walking, guiding me through the darkness. When we finally emerged...

We walked and walked, and in the end, we arrived at the same mansion where we had fought earlier. But another staircase was waiting for us. As we climbed the stairs, the red-haired guy led us to a hall. He opened the doors, and as we stepped inside, I saw many people seated on both sides.

In the center sat a fat man, his stomach resembling a giant balloon. He was bald, and his shiny skin reflected the light.

The red-haired guy bowed before that balloon man, then moved to stand beside him while Theron and I stood in front of him.

I glanced around, but when my eyes landed on that fatty, I noticed he was staring at me with lustful eyes, licking his lips.

Such a perverted, old, fatty man. How dare he look at me with that filthy gaze?

"What’s your name, and why did you come here?" the man asked, staring straight at me.

"My name is Silas, and we are not intruders. It would be best if you just let us go now."

"Silas... That’s a beautiful name. So, do you want to be my mate? I’m giving you a chance—it would be an honor for you."

What?! Is this fatty out of his mind? Is he daydreaming too much?

"NO. I am kindly rejecting your proposal to be your mate."

His expression instantly turned furious.

"How dare you reject my proposal? Do you even know who I am? I am the owner of the Dark valley!"

I was about to respond when Theron suddenly stepped forward.

"Silas is my mate, so of course, he will reject you."

"What? He is your mate?" The fatty looked like he didn’t believe Theron—of course, who would?

"Yes, and I love him so much. So it would be better if you stop eyeing him with your filthy gaze."

Woah, that was exactly what I was thinking.

Theron’s face was dead serious, but then, suddenly, a smile spread across his lips. This idiot... I’m sure he’s going to piss off this fatty even more.

"What did you just say?!" The fatty’s voice rose in anger.

"Grab this bastard Alpha and bring that Omega to me right now!" he ordered furiously.

As some men approached me, reaching out to grab me, I took a step back.

"Don’t you dare touch me! And you, fatty—" I glared at the balloon man.

"Your stomach is like a balloon. If I punched you once, you might explode. And here you are talking about making me your mate? Don’t you have any sense of humor?"

"I see... You’re like a wild kitten. But I love taming wild kittens. I’m looking forward to hearing you cry under me like a bitch."

The moment those disgusting words left his mouth, I kicked the man who was trying to grab me. I was ready to charge at that fatty, but before I could, I saw Theron throw something—

A knife.

It pierced straight through the fatty’s throat, and he collapsed instantly, his eyes shutting for the last time.

Theron... killed him.

He really threw that knife—what now?!

I was sure the entire crowd would go crazy since we had just killed their so-called boss. But then, Theron turned around and glanced at everyone.

"From today onwards, the new boss is Celi!"

Who is Celi, by the way?

But as soon as Theron made the announcement, the entire hall erupted in applause. Some men dragged the fatty’s corpse away, and the red-haired guy took the boss’s seat.

Wait—what the hell? Did Theron kill that fatty just to make this guy the new boss?!

Theron then turned to me. "Shorty, we can leave now."

"Okay," I agreed, deciding to ask him everything once we were out of there.

As we turned to leave, the red-haired guy approached us, shaking hands with Theron and even pulling him into a hug.

"Thanks, dude, for helping me out. Since I had signed the contract, I wasn’t able to kill him myself."

"Celi, it’s alright. You’re my friend, after all. Just be a good boss now."

After saying that, Celi glanced at me.

"And, Sister-in-law, pleased to meet you."

"Wait—who is your sister-in-law?!"

Before I could argue, Theron grabbed my hand. "Let’s leave soon."

We walked out of the mansion, where a car was already waiting for us. We got in, and as the car started moving, I noticed how complicated the paths were—too difficult to memorize. But then again, why would I? I’m never coming back here anyway.

After a while, when the car finally dropped us out of the Dark Valley, the driver handed our phones back to us before speeding away.

By then, it was already daytime. The moment my signal returned, I saw 200+ missed calls from Nekol.

He must’ve been really worried.

I was about to call him back when—

"Shorty, can you not tell anyone that my friend is in the Dark Valley?"

"Why not? And why are you suddenly calling me Shorty? You were using my name earlier."

"You know, it was really hard for me to call you by your name because you’re so short. I was holding myself back from calling you Shorty. But then, you hurt my feelings by telling me to shut up—so now, I’m not holding back anymore."

Indeed. Stupid reason for calling me Shorty.

After that, I called Nekol. He was beyond worried—he was even coming to pick me up. Turns out, he had filed a missing person report because he thought someone had kidnapped me.

I’ll have to tell him the truth once we meet.
