Chapter 135: Lupin pack - 30
Silas’s POV
As I told Damon everything, he listened to me with a calm face. But as soon as I was done, he glanced at the soldier.
"Is this kid really infected?" he asked.
But hearing that, one thing came to mind—there was no need to ask when I had already told him everything.
"Yes, Your Highness. We saw it with our own eyes. He just shifted into his true form."
Hearing this, Damon glanced at Velric, who was sitting on my lap in his true form.
The moment he saw him, a disgusting look appeared on his face, like Velric was some kind of garbage or something.
And then there was Look—his eyes were practically glaring at the kid. Velric hesitated, glancing at Damon, but the moment he saw those piercing eyes, he got scared.
"Mr. Damon, what’s with that look in your eyes? Don’t scare the kid." I hid Velric in my arms, holding him tightly.
And seeing Damon’s reaction, it felt like he wasn’t going to help at all.
"Silas, don’t be stubborn. Give that kid to the soldiers right now."
"Like hell I would listen to you, Mr. Damon. I shouldn’t have told you anything. You’re just like these soldiers."
My eyes were fixed on him, glaring. Why would I leave him alone when he was glaring at a kid? Of course, I was going to do the same. An eye for an eye—that’s what life has taught me.
Just then, Damon grabbed my hand harshly. I didn’t know why he was behaving like this with me again, but seeing his attitude, I had no desire to talk to him anymore.
"Silas, don’t be stubborn. Hand that kid over to them. Don’t act like he’s your child just because he called you ’mumma.’ You’re doing nothing more than wasting our time."
I jerked Damon’s hand off mine and got off the bed, holding the cub in my arms.
"Mr. Damon, that’s enough. I can’t endure your shitty behavior anymore. If you really think you can make me submit by raising your voice, then you’re mistaken."
I pushed past Damon with my shoulder, about to walk away, but he grabbed my arm harshly again.
"Ugh... What the hell do you think you’re doing? Let me go!"
"No, you let go of that cub first. He’s infected—who knows, you might get infected too," Damon said.
His words felt hollow to me, empty and meaningless.
"Mr. Damon, why do you care if I get infected? It’s none of your business. You sent me here for three months, and those three months aren’t over yet. So, by your own logic, I’ll go my own way for the next three months."
With the cub in my arms, it was difficult to free myself from Damon’s grip. Just then, Lysander and Theron stepped forward, pulling me away from him.
Theron wrapped his arm around my shoulder and said, "Damon, you were hurting him, you know?"
"When did I hurt him? I was just stopping him since he was leaving," Damon argued.
Stopping me? He was clearly hurting me. And why the hell did he have to stop me? Was he that desperate to send this little cub to the lab?
I glanced at the cub. He was still sad and scared. I patted his head while Theron continued talking to Damon.
"Why are you two looking at me like I’m the villain here?" Damon muttered.
Just then, Kael, who had been standing by the door the whole time, watching everything unfold, stepped forward.
"See? Now you’re all fighting because of this outsider omega. I knew it—he’s trying to seduce all my brothers. He has no shame."
Kael’s tongue was getting out of hand. He should have learned how to talk when he had the time.
If he had, he wouldn’t be saying all this nonsense. But getting angry wouldn’t accomplish anything. If I lost my temper and hurt Kael now, things would turn into a really big deal.
Hearing Kael, Damon glared at him without saying a word. His gaze seemed to say a lot—things I couldn’t understand, but Kael probably could.
"Shorty, are you okay?"
"Thank you for your kindness, Theron, but I think I should leave now."
"Shorty, where do you plan to go? The situation isn’t normal right now—it’s not safe for you to roam around alone. And I won’t let you go."
Well, technically, he’s right—this isn’t the right time for me to wander around. But what can I do? Nothing good is happening anyway. I can’t even rest for five minutes. Problems just keep piling up, one after another.
"At least there will be peace if I leave."
Just then, Lysander and Theron stepped in front of me, blocking my way.
"What? Step aside, both of you."
"Nope, Silas. We won’t."
Huh? Why is this only happening to me? Why won’t they just leave me alone? One after another, these brothers—they’re all idiots. All they know is how to mess with me.
"This kid is not infected, believe me. He has no fear and no cold."
Well, the doctor didn’t declare any specific symptoms, but I made my assumption by observing infected people closely.
And Lysander—why is he always on their side? If anyone looked at them, they’d think he was their brother. Well, he does look a little like them... but how come I’ve never heard anyone mention this before?
"Lysander, Theron, instead of blaming everything on me, grab Silas. I need to take that cub away from him," Damon said.
"Hey, if you want to use force, go ahead. But don’t ask us to do it," Theron replied, folding his arms and rolling his eyes.
Well, if they really want to take him, I can’t go against everyone just for that.
"Okay, if you want to take him to the lab, you can. But I have one condition, and that is—"
"What is your condition? Just tell me," Damon asked, stepping right in front of me.
